Item Conocimiento sobre medidas preventivas de infecciones de transmisión sexual en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Caisaluisa Quimbita, Leydy Dayely; Herrera López, José LuisThe present research was developed with the objective of "determining the knowledge on preventive measures for sexually transmitted infections in adolescents, taking as a reference the population of the Catorce de Julio-Juan Abel Echeverría Educational Unit" for which the quantitative approach of cross-sectional design was followed. The census sample consisted of a total of 200 adolescents from the Unidad Educativa Catorce de Julio-Juan Abel Echeverría, who responded to a survey to collect information on knowledge of STIs: 59% were female; 55% had already had sexual intercourse, of which 47% had sexual intercourse between the ages of 15 and 19; 82% indicated that in their first intercourse they could become pregnant; 57% used condoms as a safe method to prevent STDs; 75% used barrier methods; 18% considered that they could not become pregnant in their first intercourse and therefore did not protect themselves; 8% did not use contraceptive methods; 89% considered that the abstinence method was not to have sexual intercourse. It was established that 57% of adolescents in the EU have a high level of knowledge about preventive measures for sexually transmitted infections, although their knowledge is basic, they recognize some sexually transmitte d diseases.Item Detección precoz de la anorexia en la adolescencia(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-09) Toapanta Moposita, Leticia Viviana; Flores Chiliguano, Laura YolandaBackground: in adolescence, many young people have alterations in their eating behaviors, caused by different causes such as unhealthy diets, poor nutrition or following beauty stereotypes implanted in society as standards of acceptance. Objective: to describe the behaviors and attitudes presented by adolescents of the Millennium Educational Unit compatible with anorexia. Methods: a descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective study was conducted, the sample included 140 students. Results: in relation to the concern about dieting, 43,6 % of the respondents indicated that they have never proposed to go on a diet. 42,9 % indicate that they have never thought about the calories they are consuming, and 40,7 % indicate that on some occasion in their dietary intake they have thought about the appropriate amount of calories consumed. The majority of the students surveyed do not have an eating disorder, however, 20,7 % on some occasion did feel the need to vomit their food due to some influential factor in their eating. 52,9 % indicate that they never spend much time thinking about and dealing with food. Finally, 58,6 % indicate that they always enjoy and try new foods. Conclusion: the factors that influence the development of anorexia such as poor diet and scarce healthy eating programs do not occur, since students demonstrate to be informed about what eating disorders are and also have a correct diet in more of the surveyed population.Item Intervenciones de enfermería en el cuidado de adolescentes que presentan alteraciones emocionales(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-08) Manobanda Ases, Erika Alexandra; Guallichico Maura, Martha LuciaScientific research article that meets the objective of determining nursing activities in the care of adolescents with emotional problems, its methodology meets the characterization of a quantitative research that collects statistical data of criteria found in the population through the Google Forms platform . Descriptive since the criteria and concepts extracted from the research are described, carried out in the months of September and October with a cross-section that counted a population of 76 adolescents chosen through non-probabilistic inclusion and exclusion criteria. As a result, we obtained data from the application, 4 were the categories that yielded the results, these being sociodemographic aspects, physiology, psychology and the social aspect in which the adolescent develops, always respecting the ethical considerations framed wit hin the declaration of Helsinki. Its result was the exposure of the explosions carried out by the nursing professional, since through this care the incidence of new mental pathologies can be reduced as well as the decrease in anxiety, depression and suicid e rates in this population.Item Relación entre ansiedad, depresión y riesgo suicida en adolescentes del Ecuador(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-08) León Quevedo, Evelyn Dayana; Herrera Calderón, Verónica PaulinaSuicide is a social problem that affects the world population and is related to anxiety and depression, especially during adolescence. The aim of this study was to describe the suicidal risk in a sample of adolescents with factors associated with anxiety and depression. This is an observational, prospective, cross-sectional and analytical study; relational type, with the participation of 121 adolescents aged between 12 and 17 with a mean age of 15.65 and standard deviation of 2.030. The Suicide Orientation Inventory (ISO-30), the Beck Anxiety Questionnaire and the Kovacs Depression Questionnaire were used. Moderate suicidal risk was found in 52.9%; in relation to anxiety, 58.7% registered a low level, 25.6% moderate anxiety and 15.7% severe anxiety. For depression, 72.7% obtained severe levels, 19% mild, while 8.3% severe. A degree of association was determined between suicidal risk and anxiety (p= ,001 < 0.05) and absence of relationship between suicidal risk and depression (p > 0.05). Finally, it was concluded that the population studied had a moderate suicidal risk, moderate levels of anxiety and depression.
