Item Comportamiento alimentario en estudiantes de la carrera de enfermería de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato durante el confinamiento por la pandemia COVID-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Velastegui Bonilla, Ibeth Magdalena; Velasco Acurio, Evelin Fernanda Lic. Mg.Eating behaviors are habits or customs that students adopt throughout their training, which may vary. Objective: To evaluate the eating behavior in students of the Nursing Career during the confinement due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. For which was performed an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study, with a sample of 215 students, to whom a questionnaire was applied about eating behavior that is validated, evaluating the selection, preparation, food intake schedules, food intake preferences, beliefs, and barriers to change. 36.6% of students choose their food based on taste, 51.6% like meats and seafood, 7.9% dislike nuts. 50.2% eat with someone else, 46.0% have breakfast from 9 to 10 am on weekends, 47.9% eat lunch from 14 to 15 hours and finally 45.9% snack from 19 to 20 on Monday Friday, 65.6% consume prepared food, 39.1% consume fried, 75.8% drink soft drinks. As for eating out, 38.1% and 37.2% eat excessively 43.3% have disinterest in nutrition labels, so 57.7% do not avoid food and finally 42.8% of students lack commitment to improve their diet and 0.5% are not interested. Conclusion: Inappropriate eating behavior, they prefer foods for their taste or for their visual appeal to their nutritional value because they are disinterested in nutrition labels, relegating fruits and vegetablesItem Bienestar psico-emocional durante el aislamiento social por covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Gómez Araujo, Leidy Carolina; Jiménez Peralta, Ana Lucia Lic. Mg.Objective: The importance of psycho-emotional welfare and its impact on the degree of affectation in the mental health of the population during compulsory confinement was determined. Methodology: The study presents a descriptive qualitative approach since it compiles characteristics according to the hermeneutical phenomenology of the research with a non-probabilistic sampling that had the participation of 10 people who were selected under inclusion criteria belonging to Ambato city in the months September to October 2021, where a recorded interview was conducted with each one prior to the signing of informed consent, respecting the Helsinki research principles to later be analyzed through the Damaziere and Duvar methodology. Results: Was identified a high prevalence of variables that affect psycho-emotional welfare such as fear, frustration, depression, likewise we obtained very significant data such as psychological violence and domestic violence present in the population, in this way was achieved to determine the degree of affectation that had social isolation in the Ambateña family. Discussion: The study shows, the high prevalence of mental disorders such as depression lead to increased suicide rates, in the same way, economic problems have been Triggers for these problems to worsen, presenting new cases of domestic violence that not only harm the person but also the family. Conclusions: It is necessary to understand how to face this problem in order to adopt measures that help to correct these conditions.Item Creencias y mitos sobre los tratamientos alternativos para prevenir la covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Ganán Barrionuevo, Andrea Maribel; Benavides Rovalino, Esther del Rocio Lic. MgIntroduction: COVID-19; It was detected for the first time in December 2019 in the city of Wuhan China, its spread was rapid, which led the World Health Organization to declare a global pandemic (1). In the midst of panic and the health crisis, many home remedies spread in Latin America to deal with the disease (2). This is how information has been shown from people looking for alternative remedies to prevent the coronavirus or to treat it, also being the case of Ecuador (3). Objective: Identify treatments with natural medicine or alternative products as a measure of prevention and / or cure of COVID-19 in the population during the pandemic. Material and Methods: Research; it is based on a qualitative, descriptive and cross-sectional measurement approach; The sample is made up of 100 people, several of them who have presented the disease and others not, both from rural and urban areas living in the Province of Tungurahua, Cantón Píllaro, Barrio San Jacinto. The data were collected by means of a face-to-face application of a self-authored survey, they were processed in the SPSS version 25 program, to finally be analyzed using tables. Results: 58% are female; Between the age range of 18 to 40 years, 56% reside in rural areas and 88% of the total have used some type of alternative treatment; while 78% use natural medicine to treat mild symptoms. 76% of those surveyed presented improvement in their health status, 54% have used or consumed products such as ethanol and ivermectin and 6% of the total sample presented side effects after the use of these products. Conclusions A high percentage of the population; resorted to the use of natural medicine and products as viable options for the prevention and treatment of the disease, it is therefore important; research on alternative treatments for the management of COVID-19.Item Resiliencia de los docentes de la carrera de enfermería de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato ante la modalidad de teletrabajo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Criollo Tituaña, Diana Aracely; Analuisa Jimenez, Eulalia Isabel Lic. Mg.Since the COVID-19 pandemic, education moved to the virtual modality, establishing telework for teachers, who took on new challenges related to the use of technology, which meant a greater investment of time and workload. Therefore, the objective of this research was to determine the resilience of the teachers of the Nursing Career of the Technical University of Ambato to the teleworking modality. Based on a quantitative, prospective, observational, analytical, cross-sectional approach, 74 participants were administered a questionnaire based on the Connor-Davinson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) with a Cronbach's alpha index of 0.89. Among the main results, it was established that the teachers have been resilient to the teleworking modality, establishing that 41.89% of the teachers reached a high level of resilience, while 40.54% maintained a medium level. Therefore, it is concluded that after the measures adopted in education during the COVID19 pandemic, and the implementation of telework, teachers have been resilient, developing skills such as persistence, tenacity, self-efficacy, adaptability, control under pressure, support networks and spirituality.Item Efectos psicológicos producidos por la pandemia de covid-19 en los niños de 8 a 9 años de la escuela particular bilingüe Pelileo(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-09-01) Llamuca Sarabia, Virginia Katherine; Cusme Torres, Nadihezka Amanda Lic. Mg.La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar los efectos psicológicos producidos por la pandemia de COVID-19 en los niños de 8 a 9 años de la Escuela Particular Bilingüe Pelileo. Para lo cual se desarrolló un estudio cuantitativo, basado en una investigación de campo de corte transversal, con un nivel descriptivo, considerando a la población objeto de estudio fueron infantes de 8 a 9 años de edad, de la institución educativa en mención, la muestra fue determinada por criterios de inclusión como rango de edad, alumnado de la institución y quienes deseen participar en la investigación, excluyendo aquellos que no cumplieron con estos ítems de selección, por lo cual se obtuvo una muestra de 28 estudiantes. Se aplicó como instrumento de recolección de datos una encuesta basada en el Cuestionario de Ansiedad Infantil (CAS) y el Cuestionario de Depresión Infantil (CDI), que tras haber sido aplicados y procesados dieron como resultado la presencia del síndrome de ansiedad en el 78.57% de la población infantil, quienes presentaron signos asociados, evasión de responsabilidades, incremento de ira, nerviosismo, sentimiento de dependencia y retraimiento. De igual forma se identificó la presencia del síndrome depresión en el 100% de los niños. El cual se divide en un nivel leve en el 64.29% de los casos y una condición grave en el 35.71%. Estableciendo recomendaciones que mejoren la salud mental de los niños como la promoción del dialogo con los padres, y la creación de rutinas que incluyan actividades físicas como rumba terapia.Item Intervención educativa de enfermería en la adherencia terapeútica de adultos mayores con diagnósticos de hipertensión y diabetes durante la pandemia covid-19(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-09-01) Cajamarca Chicaiza, Karen Michelle; Jiménez Peralta, Ana Lucia Lic. Mg.The low figures of therapeutic adherence have become a worldwide health problem, so the present research had the objective of applying an educational nursing intervention on the therapeutic adherence to older adults with diagnoses of hypertension and diabetes during the COVID-19 pandemic, through a quantitative-explanatory study, with a quasi-experimental and crosssectional design. The sample consisted of 30 older adults belonging to the Lions Club of the Sigsicalle Sur neighborhood, divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 15 persons each. Regarding the results, the experimental group presented pre- and post-intervention adherence percentages of 65.3% and 76.15%, respectively. While the control group decreased adherence by 1,48%. Regarding the first dimension related to the intake of medication, food and exercise, adherence increased by 12.77%, regarding the dimension related to medical-behavioral follow-up, it increased by 7.14% and regarding the third dimension of self-efficacy, it increased by 12.64%. In conclusion, the effectiveness of the intervention on therapeutic adherence is shown, so that the significant contribution of the educational role of nursing during the COVID-19 pandemic can be affirmed.Item Aplicación de normas de bioseguridad en el personal de enfermería en tiempos de pandemia en el hospital basico Pelileo en el periodo marzo - noviembre 2020(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-03-01) Barrera Pilla, Tannia Anabelle; Castillo Siguencia, Rosa Mercedes Lic, Mg.Biosecurity standards are guidelines that reduce the risk of infection for both health care personnel and patients. However, the application of biosecurity standards has now been compromised by internal or external factors such as the lack of necessary supplies and the lack of knowledge on the part of professionals to attend to cases of patients with Covid-19, This research aims to analyse the application of biosecurity standards in nursing staff in times of pandemics at the Pelileo Basic Hospital in 2020. To this end, descriptive research with a quantitative approach was carried out, considering 85 nursing professionals as the target population, to whom a data collection instrument called Biosecurity Measures in Intra-Hospital Prevention was applied, which was adapted to the context of this research. As a result of the determination of a lack of knowledge about biosecurity in 15% of the population studied, it was also determined that there is not a 100% supply of necessary biosecurity supplies for nurses. Therefore, it has been concluded that training is essential for health professionals to meet biosecurity standards within their areas. In addition, each institution must provide the necessary equipment so that professionals can cope with the conditions of the current pandemic and not put their health at risk.Item Adiposidad central en escolares y adolescentes en el período de la pandemia por covid-19(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-03-01) Toaquiza Licta, Tannia Lucia; .Arráiz, Carolina de Fernández, Med. EspIntroduction: The pandemic caused by COVID-19, generated challenges in the world population, to avoid its spread measures were taken like isolation and confinement, which has generated greater sedentary lifestyle, greater number of hours doing work online, greater access to the kitchen of the house, what it could lead to obesity in children and teenagers. Objective: To determine central adiposity in schoolchildren and teenagers in the pandemic period by COVID-19. Methodology: Field research, descriptive cross section, the sample was made up of 71 students of 7-15 years old, the anthropometric parameter used to determine central adiposity was waist/hip ratio, using the application of two validated questionnaires, the analysis of data has been made in Microsoft Excel, frequencies were used, percentages, mean, standard deviation and confidence interval 95% for each variable. Results: Of a population of 125 students the 57% (n=71) had criterion of central adiposity, within of the irrigation factors were found that more than 50% of students occupy 5-6 hours to leisure activities inverse relationship with physical activity, feeding daily base on fast food (29,58% to 35,21%). Conclusions: It was evidenced that during the pandemic period by COVID-19 more than half of the studied population presented criterion of central adiposity, within of the predisposing factors was found feeding with high calorie content, limited physical activity, typical middle stratum, and grade of complete primary schooling of parents.Item Uso de nuevas tecnologías en tiempos de pandemia en la formación de los estudiantes de enfermería de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-03-01) Flores Huilcatoma, Nataly Silvana; Martínez García, Diana Nancy Ing.Introduction: The declaration of pandemic time due to the outbreak and worldwide spread of COVID-19, has caused several changes, especially in the educational system, when adapting to the virtual study modality. This is how the training of nursing professionals has been compromised by the ability to access to technological resources that online learning requires. Objective: To analyze the use of new technology during the pandemic time in the training of Nursing Students at Technical University of Ambato. Method: Quantitative study at a descriptive level with a cross section, taking a sample of 284 undergraduate students, to whom a specific survey was applied based on the questionnaire used in the research "Educational challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic" under a scale of Closed and multiple-choice questions validated by experts from the National University of Mexico, which was adapted to 13 items directed to the study area, reaching a reliability level of 0.951. Results: 95% of students have adopted new technology to receive online classes, from these, 52% use cell phones to access to educational platforms. Besides, 70% of these cases have manifested problems in the use of digital media, which has caused 76% of Nursing students to consider that it contributes little to their professional training. Conclusion: Nursing Career Students from the Technical University of Ambato have adopted the use of new technology for their training during the pandemic time.Item Percepción de la paciente embarazada sobre la asistencia a los controles prenatales durante la pandemia por covid-19(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-03-01) Pallango Plasencia, Paola Estefanía; Analuisa Jiménez, Eulalia IsabelLcda. Mg.Introduction: In times of the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance at prenatal check-ups by pregnant patients has been a matter of concern, which is why it is necessary to know their perception to attend or not attend health facilities. Objective: To describe the Perception of the pregnant patient regarding attendance at prenatal controls during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Method: Qualitative, phenomenological, descriptive, field research, a convenience sampling of users in a state of pregnancy was used, as a data collection instrument, semi structured interviews were carried out, keeping the principles of autonomy, respect and confidentiality, for the analysis The triangulation of information was carried out, the data obtained was verified and bibliographic sources were integrated with studies related to the subject. Later, following the methodology of Demaziére D. and Dubar C., the discourse was categorized. Results: It was evidenced that there is a significant non-compliance with prenatal controls since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic due to fear, fear, concern about getting infected at the time of attending, as well as, there are different opinions about the care provided by professionals both public and private. Conclusions: The study participants expressed their perspective and experience of going through the COVID-19 pandemic in a pregnant state, where they expressed the different emotions, feelings and thoughts they presented, as well as how these emotions influenced when deciding to go or no to prenatal controls, finally they mentioned the characteristics of how the care was received by health professionals.
