    The hidden neglect of the elderly is a problem that leads to physical, social; and economic instability, as they are factors that violate the rights of the elderly. However, it also includes feelings of pain and loneliness that they experience daily, with the breaking of affective ties due to the neglect, taking advantage ofthe abuse and mistreatment that arise from the predominant social interests during the phase of old age. The aim of this study was to identify the hidden neglect of older people in the municipality of San Fernando del Canton Ambato. The study group consisted of 30 older adults, 7 men and 23 women, the methodology was used with a qualitative approach, the semi-structured interview technique was applied, through an instrument of 22 questions, distributed in five dimensions (family, social, emotional, health and instrumental), with 15 indicators (visits, communication, responsibility, migration, support network in the community, support network; of neighbors and friends, self-esteem, feelings, resilience, hygiene, food, disease prevention, economy, transportation and housework); in order to study the dimensions, a semantic network was developed that allowed the analysis of the experiences of hidden abandonment of older people. Through the results obtained, it was found that the majority of older adults perceive a hidden abandonment, due to the lack of time, distance and responsibility of their relatives by not visiting them frequently, since many ofthem decide to leave the community to emigrate to other cities. due to the lack of work, which is a factor that affects the family economically.

    Abandono y depresión en los adultos mayores del centro Gerentológico CAIAM Patate

    Abstract : The main question of this work is to determine if Abandonment is a factor that leads to Depression in the elderly at the CAIAM Patate Gerontological Center. The older adult is seen before society as a subject that inspires respect and admiration, being important for society since it is determined as a figure of experience and help for the new generations, this would be the ideal, but still it is not like that . Unfortunately, there are a small number of families that do not give the value they deserve, as there is 14.9% in abandonment of older adults in Ecuador, within the institution that was the object of study it will be possible to determine that there is a , 33% of abandonment by their families, 82.33% of older adults who are institutionalized in the gerontological center maintain a state of depression despite having a protective environment in which they receive the necessary care. The behavior after abandonment and depression of the elderly is taken into account, concluding that it is confirmed that depression is related to the abandonment of the elderly from the CAIAM Patate Gerontological Center. It is important to mention that medical care is a priority in the gerontological center, but when they present abandonment by their relatives, this leads to certain difficulties in care since they only have the support of the health center and they do not have all the medication needed by older adults. Therefore, it is recommended to reduce depressive symptoms, for which social relationships should be promoted, through activities in which a therapeutic accompaniment can be had.

    Relaciones familiares y abandono del adulto mayor institucionalizado en el hogar Sagrado Corazón de Jesús de la Ciudad de Ambato

    The research performed in the "Hogar Sagrado Corazón de Jesús" lets us know the difficult situation that elderly people live, with the participation of 40 old men institutionalized, men and women. It was investigated with the purpose to determinate how family relationships influence the abandonment of the elderly. The research is based on a qualitative and quantitative approach to analize the situation of those involved, who are the elderly and their relatives. In the application of the survey, relevant information was obtained that allowed to elaborate the proposal from the area of Social Work that directs a process of intervention for the institutionalized elderly. The proposal of research is the creation of a program prevention for the abandonment of the elderly with the objective of improve their living conditions.

    Factores de abandono y el buen vivir del adulto mayor del centro Greontológico " Señor de los Remedios"

    El Adulto Mayor es un ente importante en la Sociedad ya que son personas con variedad de experiencias y auto ayuda a la juventud para un mejor mañana, lamentablemente pocas familias dan el valor que se merecen nuestros adultos mayores en la sociedad del 58% son abandonados en Asilos de Ancianos por parte de su familia, y el 18% por indigencia se los encuentra ambulando en las calles sin tener una alimentación y salud sana que ellos se merecen, el 51% de adultos mayores su estado emocional son tristes en las casas hogares porque ellos extrañan su familia su hogar ya que la mayor parte de adultos mayores fueron personas trabajadores dedicadas a la agricultura, a la ganadería y pues llegan a una edad donde ya no pueden estar realizando trabajos esforzados porque su salud ya no lo permite, el 40% de los Adultos de adaptan a su nuevo hogar ya que son cuidados y sobre todo reciben una alimentación sana y saludable para ellos, con cuidados realizan terapias ocupaciones que les agrada hacer y su estado emocional es alegres se sientes personas capaces de realizar un trabajo encomendado de tal manera que nuestros adultos mayores deben gozar de aquellos privilegios donde sean respetado y tratados bien donde gocen de su etapa final a base de cuidado y reciban cariño por parte de las personas que los cuidan y por sus familias.
