Carrera de Ingeniería en Electrónica y Comunicaciones, 2021-06) Quintana Tenorio, Galo Fabián; Ayala Baño, Paulina ElizabethThe research work presents the design of a monitoring and automation system for tanks in the anodizing process in the Ecuadorian Aluminum Corporation S.A. The company currently lacks a monitoring and control system for tanks, due to this there are economic losses, environmental and human effects due to a constant overflow. For these reasons, the present project aims to design a system that allows monitoring and controlling the level of the liquids they contain. It was decided to monitor the level of the tanks, by means of sensors that emit the signal to the controller, which processes said signals and, through the Ethernet / IP communication protocol, shows them in an HMI interface, this is used for real-time monitoring of the variables, equipment status information, pump ignition control, solenoid valves and level versus time graphs, also beacons are used that help the operator to visually know the current capacity of the tanks. The programming of the programmable logic controller was carried out in Ladder language using the RsLogix 5000 software and with the DopSoft Software the graphical interfaces of each tank were designed. For the validation of the control system, several functional tests were carried out, resulting in the total elimination of tank overflows, establishing a continuous production of the profiles and at the same time remote monitoring of all the process variables from any point of the plant.
