    Today, the Internet has become essential in our lives, providing access to a wide range of tools and services that have driven technological advancement. Fiber optics are a particularly efficient means of transmitting information in the field of telecommunications and have become an essential element to carry out any activity. In this planning, design and implementation project, the network implemented by the company CLICKNET S.A. is analyzed with the aim of evaluating its current capacity to provide broadband services. Through this analysis, the maximum traffic capacity that the company provides from its main network to the distribution network to customers can be determined. Currently, customer demand for high-capacity broadband services continues to increase. With the advancement of technology, the need to improve browsing speed occurs at a higher level in sectors that do not have access to such technologies. The main objective of this project is to generate continuous traffic in both the main networks and the last mile network and reduce possible connection problems that subscribers may present, generating a system capable of controlling the traffic offered by various providers. Through the use of various processes intended for router and data traffic control devices, we can establish constant monitoring and increase the effectiveness of the network in the event of possible problems such as supplier outages or damage to the infrastructure.

    Red GPON para la expansión de servicios de telecomunicaciones de la empresa Clicknet S.A. en el casco central de la ciudad de Patate.

    The internet is a fundamental tool in the modern world, becoming a basic service, opening the doors for the advancement of technology, making it essential for all activities, where fiber optics is the most efficient means of transmission of information in the field of telecommunications. In this research project, a study is carried out of the current network that the company CLICKNET SA owns, in the city of Patate, in which it provides service by radio link, with the objective of designing a Gpon network increasing the QoS, delimiting the city in two zones to supply the requirement of the costumers. The design and implementation is proposed because the demand from the costumers is notorious to carry out their activities satisfactorily, as well as an FTTH network with fiber optics up to the costumers with two levels of sharing of 1: 8 and 1:16, decreasing the losses that it would have if it were three levels. The designed network and the equipment of the GPON network must satisfy the technical requirements necessary to be scalable and flexible, whether the company wants to increase its services to Triple Play or have a growth in coverage. Finally, a volume of work and an optical budget is made to verify that the network does not have problems in its implementation, there can be several cost savings because the technicians in charge are trained to carry out various activities without the need to hire external personnel.

    Plataforma de IPTV utilizando tecnología GPON para el servicio de video por suscripción de la CNT EP en la zona de cobertura de la Central Izamba del Cantón Ambato

    El acelerado crecimiento de las telecomunicaciones y los constantes requerimientos de innovación tecnológica hacen que la Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones Empresa Pública (CNT EP) radicada en la República del Ecuador, incursione en el desarrollo de nuevos servicios para satisfacer a los usuarios y competir en el mercado de las telecomunicaciones. Este trabajo se enfoca en el desarrollo de una plataforma de Televisión sobre el Protocolo de Internet (IPTV), para distribuir contenidos de televisión y video a los usuarios, utilizando la red GPON sobre el protocolo IP. El proyecto se llevó a cabo en en la zona de cobertura de la central Izamba del cantón Ambato de la CNT EP. Se realiza un análisis de la infraestructura actual de la red GPON de la CNT EP en la zona Izamba y posteriormente se realiza la proyección de la demanda del servicio de IPTV. Además, se determinan los requerimientos técnicos necesarios para el diseño de la plataforma de IPTV, así como, los equipos de cabecera, acceso y usuario, protocolos de transporte y señalización; y, se calcula el ancho de banda adecuado para que el servicio de IPTV sea óptimo. Finalmente, se determinan las redes de backbone, distribución y acometida para brindar el servicio de IPTV sobre la red GPON. Adicionalmente, se realiza un presupuesto estimado y el análisis del período de la recuperación de la inversión para brindar el servicio de video por suscripción a los usuarios finales. ABSTRACT The accelerated growth of telecommunications and the constant technological innovation requirements make that Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones Public Enterprise (CNT EP), to venture in the development of new services in order to satisfy users and compete in the telecommunications market. This document focuses on the development of an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) platform to distribute television and video content to users, using the GPON network over IP protocol. This project is carried out in the CNT EP Izamba OLT coverage area in Ambato city. Is performed an analysis on the current CNT EP GPON network infrastructure in Izamba area and subsequently the projection of IPTV service demand is performed. In addition, the technical requirements for the design of the platform, as well as, head end and end user equipment, transport protocols and the appropriate network bandwidth for optimum IPTV service are determined. Finally, the backbone, distribution and end user network is determined to provide IPTV service on the GPON network. Additionally, an estimated platform budget is made to give video subscription service to end users.
