Item Los rasgos de personalidad y su relación con la autoeficacia académica en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2023-03-01) Labre Ortiz, Jonathan Joel; Bonilla Basantes, Paulina JhojanaThis research sought to determine the correlation between personality traits and academic self-efficacy in university students, so the participation of students from a university in the city of Ambato was considered. A transversal, non-experimental, quantitative approach was used in a sample of 123 medical students with 34.14% of men and 65.86% of women, with an age range between 18 and 27 years old, who were selected by inclusion and exclusion criteria. For the data collection process, the digital platform Google Forms was used, where the letter of acceptance was attached, which ensured free participation and identity protection. The constructs used were the International Personality Disorder Examination (IPDE) DSM IV module to assess personality traits and the Academic Situations Specific Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale (EAPESA) in a digitalized form. The results showed that the predominant personality traits in university students were constituted in first place by the narcissistic trait with 24.4%, followed by avoidant with 18.7% and borderline with 15.4%. In relation to the levels of self - efficacy, there was evidence of a higher score in the high level of self-efficacy followed by moderate and low self-efficacy. As for the association of self-efficacy with the sex of the participants, there was no significant relationship between the variables.
