Item FORTALEZAS DE CARÁCTER Y RESILIENCIA EN ADOLESCENTES(2025-03-05) Morejón Buenaño, Karol Valentina; Gaibor Gonzalez, Ismael Alvaro; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología ClínicaCharacter strengths and resilience have been key points in the study of positive psychology, which is why this study aimed to analyze the relationship between these two variables. For this purpose, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, in which a sample of 120 adolescents from an educational institution in the city of Ambato, Ecuador, was taken. The Brief Adolescent Strengths Scale (VIA-YOUTH) by Park and Peterson and the Resilience Scale by Wagnild and Young were applied to the sample. As results obtained, using the statistical program Jamovi 2.3.28, the Shapiro Wilk normality test and the Spearman correlation test, it was indicated that there is a slight to moderate positive correlation between the variables of character strengths and resilience. With the results presented, it is concluded that, as character strengths increase in value, resilience tends to rise. In addition, the total sample obtained high mean scores in the strengths: gratitude, solidarity, teamwork and perseverance, as well as high levels of resilience. Although women showed higher mean resilience scores than men, this difference was not statistically significant.Item ESTILOS DE CRIANZA Y CONDUCTAS AUTOLESIVAS EN ADOLESCENTES DE LA UNIDAD EDUCATIVA “ANIBAL SALGADO RUIZ(2025-03-05) Yugcha Tisalema, Christian Anibal; Saltos Salazar Lenin Fabian; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología ClínicaThe research focused on analyzing parenting styles and self-injurious behaviors in adolescents aged 12 to 17 years. A quantitative, non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional approach was used. The main objective of this study was to understand how parents' parenting styles are related to the frequency of these self-injurious behaviors. Data from 152 adolescents were examined using two scales: one to assess parenting style (ESPA29) and another to measure the level of self-injury (AEAS). The results made it possible to identify the connection between parental affection and closeness and self-injury in adolescents, since those who had close parental support were less likely to selfinjure, while the authoritarian style predominated among the same. Of theyoung people studied, 48.7% presented low values, 32.9% medium and 18.4% high, with a higher prevalence among females. Therefore, they demonstrate the importance of parents in terms of involvement and emotional presence of the adolescent, highlighting the importance of a protective factor against self-injury. This demonstrates the need to develop their parenting, which will contribute to the good emotional development of adolescents.Item RELIGIOSIDAD Y EXPLORACIÓN DE LA IDENTIDAD SEXUAL EN ADOLESCENTES(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-09) Zambrano Valencia, Lizeth Samantha; Sánchez Acosta, Adriana CarolinaIntroduction: Religiosity is a social entity that encompasses theology, a set of normative traditions, rituals, attitudes, values, or practices linked to a transcendent power. on the other hand, sexual identity is a multidimensional construct composed of gender identity, with sexual behaviors being an observable expression of an individual's sexuality. Objective: To determine the relationship between religiosity and exploration of sexual identity in adolescents. Methods: The study consisted of 130 adolescents aged 14 to 18 from the Pelileo, Tungurahua province, Ecuador. This sample was taken using non-probabilistic convenience sampling, with participants voluntarily agreeing to respond to the Sexual Identity Exploration Questionnaire and the Durel Scale to measure religiosity. This was done through a quantitative research approach, nonexperimental design, descriptive level with correlational scope, and cross-sectional design. Results: The results obtained in the selected population showed a mild positive correlation between religiosity and one dimension of sexual identity, which was gender identity. Conclusions: It was found that adolescents have a moderate level of religiosity, influenced by the environment and context of the population. Additionally, the calculation of the mean score in the dimensions of sexual identity, as well as the comparison of identity in males and females, did not yield statistically significant differences.Item HOSTILIDAD Y DEPENDENCIA A VIDEOJUEGOS EN ADOLESCENTES(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-09) Tixi Lucio, Nicol Dayana; García Ramos, Diana CarolinaThe hostility is defined as an emotional state that ranges in intensity from mild irritation to rage or anger, while video game dependence is a non-chemical addiction that derives in a potentially addictive behavior. The principal objective of this study was to analyze the correlation between the variables hostility and videogame dependence in adolescents. The design of this study was quantitative non-experimental, whit a descriptive-correlational approach. The sample included 90 young people between 12 and 16 years of age belonging to a private educational unit in the city of Ambato. To measur e the study variables, were applied the Buss-Durke Hostility Aggressiveness Inventor y adapted by Carlos Reyes Romero in 1987 and the Video Game Dependence Test adapte d by Salas, Merino, Choliz and Marco in 201. The results revealed that there is a slight positive relationship between the hostility and video game dependence, whit a higher prevalence of hostility at a high level and moderate level of video game dependence. In addition, significant differences were found in the video game dependence of adolesce nt s of different ages.Item ANSIEDAD Y DEPENDENCIA A LOS VIDEOJUEGOS EN ADOLESCENTES DEL SECTOR RURAL(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-06) Moreno Paredes, Johana Lisbeth; Valencia Cepeda, María CristinaAdolescence is a transitional stage characterized by physical and emotional changes . Adolescents are more prone to develop mental health problems. Anxiety and video game dependence are phenomena that have increased in prevalence in recent years in adolescents, reflecting a significant challenge. Therefore, the aim of the study was to determine the relationship between anxiety and dependence on video games in adolescents between 13 and 19 years of age in the rural sector. The study used a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design and correlational scope, with a cross-sectional cut. The instrument used to assess anxiety was the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Test of Video Game Dependence (TDV) was used to assess video game dependence. After analyzing the results, a prevalence of moderate anxiet y and a low level of video game dependence were found. In addition, significant differenc e s were observed between men and women in video game dependence, with men having a higher score. Finally, it was found that there was a slight positive relationship betwee n the variables studied.Item RIESGO DE ADICCIÓN A LAS REDES SOCIALES Y RESILIENCIA EN ADOLESCENTES(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-06) Altamirano Manzano, Evelyn Melissa; Mena Freire, Marco AntonioAddiction to social networks is characterized by uncontrolled behavior that drives people to be connected to these platforms for long periods of time, while resilience refers to a person's ability to positively overcome the adversities that arise in life. These variables are currently relevant in adolescents, so the aim of the study was to determ i n e the relationship between social network addiction and resilience in adolescents. The study used a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design and correlational scope, with a cross-sectional cut. The instrument used to assess social network addiction was the Social Network Addiction Questionnaire (SNA) and the Resilience Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents was used to measure resilience. After analyzing the results, it was found that there was no relationship between the variables. In addition, it was found that in addiction to social networks a low level predominated with 61.3% while, in resilience a high level prevailed with 82.1%, finally in addiction to social networks no significant differences were found between the sexes.Item La inteligencia emocional y su relación con el autoconcepto en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2023-03-01) Villacís Gómez, Ariana Sabiné; Lara Salazar, Cristina Mariela Ps. Inf. Mg.Emotional intelligence was initially presented as a form of intelligence capable of affecting success in people's lives to a greater extent than intellectual or cognitive skills, with this the IQ, in a sense, took a back seat, to currently give more importance to factors related to the emotional field, such as being able to empathize with others to achieve optimal social relations or to know one's own feelings and use them effectively (Mesa et al., 2015). For its part, the self-concept has been studied by different fields and knowledge, gestated through philosophical processes concerning the questioning Who am I, this is how this turns out to be the notion that an individual possesses in terms of characteristics, adjectives used to define himself (Gaeta & Cavazos, 2017), this construct plays a decisive and primordial role in the development of personality (Esnaola et al., 2008). Consequently, the present research work was developed with the objective of determining whether there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and self-concept in adolescents, a correlational and cross-sectional project, which involved the participation of 108 high school students of the "Patria" fiscal educational unit of the city of Latacunga.xv The BarOn Emotional Intelligence Inventory (I-CE) was used for the emotional intelligence variable, while the Self-Concept Form 5 test was used for self-concept. The methodology applied was based on a quantitative approach, since the information extracted from the instruments for the statistical analysis was compared by means of Spearman's rho test, to obtain the corresponding correlation. The results indicate a slight negative relationship between the intrapersonal dimension of emotional intelligence with academic/work self-concept and social self-concept, likewise between the interpersonal dimension with academic/work self-concept and physical selfconcept, and the general mood dimension with family self-concept, finally there is a statistically significant difference of self-concept in relation to sex, being the physical the most prevalent in men.Item Relación entre la conducta antisocial y delictiva con la funcionalidad familiar en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) Balladares Fiallos, Karol Michelle; Dra. Ponce Delgado, Agueda del Rocío Mg.Antisocial and delinquent behaviors have their origins in the family functionality that, since childhood, adolescents take as a model the family circle in which they develop. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between antisocial and delinquent behaviors and family functionality in adolescents. The methodological strategies constituted a quantitative, cross-sectional approach with a non-experimental and correlational design. Instruments such as the Antisocial and Delinquent Behavior Questionnaire (A-D) and the Family Functioning Scale (Family APGAR) were used. The sample consisted of 164 adolescents between 12 and 17 years of age. The results showed significant correlation between APGAR and Antisocial Behavior (Rho= -0.265 p<0.05) and between APGAR and Antisocial Delinquent Behavior (Rho= -0.182 p<0.05) and the presence of mild family dysfunctionality in the adolescents who participated in this researchItem Autoestima y su relación con los desórdenes alimenticios en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) Fuentes Rodríguez, Stephanie Mishell; Eugenio Zumbana, Lizbeth Carolina, Ps. Cl. Mg.The aim of the study was to identify the relationship between the level of self-esteem and the severity of eating disorder symptomatology in adolescents. For this purpose, a non- experimental quantitative study was developed with a descriptive, correlational, cross- sectional, non-experimental design. It counted with the participation of 125 adolescents from the Oxford Educational Unit of the city of Salcedo, selected through inclusion criteria, who were administered the Rosemberg Self-Esteem questionnaire, in its adapted version (1995) with a reliability of 0.88 and the Eatin Atittudes Test Questionnaire (EAT- 26) adapted to Spanish in 2009 with 0.87 reliability. It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between the levels of Self-esteem and Eating Disorders (p=.002), as for the levels of self-esteem it is presented in high level with 42.6%; also 68% of the participants had a low level of risk of symptoms of eating disorders, it was also determined that the female sex has a low prevalence of self-esteem, while for eating disorders no significant differences were found between men and women.Item Terapia comunitaria integrativa como intervención para fortalecer la autoestima del adolescente en situación de vulnerabilidad(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud /Centro de posgrados, 2021-12-07) Sánchez Pomboza, Verónica Tatiana Psi. Cli.; Gavilanes Manzano Mg.Psi Cli., FannyThe self-esteem of adolescents in situations of vulnerability has a direct influence on the risk behaviors that take place in this population. Therefore, it is important to prepare educational institutions in order to create protective resources in this group. The current study aims are to analyze the effectiveness of the Integrative Community Therapy in strengthening the self-esteem of adolescents in vulnerable situations, as well as to identify the levels of self-esteem that this population has. A quasi-experimental study is carried out in order to measure the dependent variable before and after implementing the intervention in a group of vulnerable adolescents between the ages of 13 and 15; the effects of the intervention were measured and analyzed based on the results obtained in the process of prior and subsequent appliance of the Coopersmith self-esteem scale. The results demonstrated that the Integrative Community Therapy was an effective intervention tool which allowed vulnerable adolescents to open a space to talk about their sufferings, experiences and achievements, maintaining a circular communication that promoted the empowerment of their own lives, recovering the capacities, individual and community resources that were diminished, strengthening personal self-esteem and social links. Summing up, the adolescents in vulnerable situations achieved to improve their self-esteem as well as to modify their way of thinking and acting as co-responsible active persons and participating in fixing solutions, establishing resilient attitudes and creating supportive networks of participation between them.
