    RESILIENCIA Y SATISFACCIÓN SEXUAL EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS

    The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between resilience and sexual satisfaction in university students, using a sample of 100 students from the faculty of Agricultural Sciences in an age range of 18 to 25 years, from an Ecuadorian university. The research had a quantitative, descriptive, correlational, non-experimental and crosssectional approach, using the Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale and the New Sexual Satisfaction Scale (NSSS). The results showed that there is no correlation between the variables, in terms of resilience levels, 42% of the students were at a very low level, 22% at a low level, and 36% at average and high levels. In terms of sexual satisfaction, 45% of the participants were very satisfied, 34% extremely satisfied and 21% satisfied, with no reported levels of dissatisfaction, in addition, a statistically significant difference was found in terms of the variable sexual satisfaction between men and women (U=913 p<0.05),

    Afrontamiento del covid-19 en el personal auxiliar de enfermería

    Introduction: The global crisis due to COVID-19, has produced changes in health institutions, affecting the mental health of health personnel, so it has been necessary to implement coping strategies to adapt to the situation. Objective: To identify COVID-19 coping in auxiliary nursing staff. Methodology: This is quantitative research of non experimental design, cross-sectional, with a descriptive scope. The study population was 100 nursing assistants of the Hospital General Docente Ambato. The information was collected through a survey with 21 closed questions, divided into 3 dimensions: adaptation or assimilation, adequate management of emotions and social limitations. Results: The coping strategies used were problem solving with 55%, worry solving with 47.5% and resistance to difficulties with 56%; the nursing assistants presented a medium level of coping with a percentage of 41%. Conclusions: COVID-19 coping has been progressively improving, healthcare professionals have changed their way of thinking and acting in the face of illness, allowing their work development, for such reason, it is essential that coping strategies continue to be applied and encouraged among workers, in order to maintain their health both physically and psychologically

    El estrés académico y su relación con estrategias de afrontamiento en adolescentes en el contexto de educación virtual

    Introduction: currently, due to the pandemic, face-to-face education has been transformed into online education, causing an increase in academic stress that significantly affects the students' usual development, for which the student employs coping strategies depending on previous experiences or as he/she deems necessary. Objective: to analyze the relationship between the level of academic stress in virtual education and coping strategies in adolescents. Methods: a quantitative correlational, cross-sectional, nonexperimental research conducted in an Educational Unit with a sample of 110 adolescent students of the Unified General High School, using the SISCO Academic Stress Inventory and the Adolescent Coping Scale (ACS) for data collection. Results: a negative correlation was found between academic stress and coping strategies, likewise 69.1% of the population suffer from moderate academic stress; referring to gender it was found that women are more exposed to suffer from it with an average of 9.307 more than men; it was also evidenced that most students use average levels of coping strategies being so that women are the ones who use them in greater quantity. Conclusions: Adolescents with lower use of coping strategies are more prone to academic stress, the strategies employed by the participants are: conflict resolution, relationship with others and unproductive coping.

    Vivencias del cuidador informal del paciente con covid-19 en la instancia domiciliaria en la parroquia de Quisapincha cantón Ambato

    SARS-CoV-2 is an RNA virus that is part of the coronaviridae family that is related to wild animals such as bats and intermediary reservoirs such as the pangolin, snakes and minks. This irus produces the illness better known as COVID-19. The analysis of the informal caregiver’s experiences handling a patient positive for COVID-19 and its work overload, also the methods used to face the issue. A thorough qualitative, description investigation was conducted, with a proper field design. The research focus were the family members of COVID-19 patients from the parish of Quisapincha, whom were also the informal caregivers. The research data was obtained via semi-structured interviews done to ten participants; the pertinent criteria related to the quality and data adequacy, also the overflow of unnecessary information. The analysis was performed following the rules of the fundamental theory of data. The ethical principles of autonomy were protected, respect and confidentiality of the information given. In this study, the overload of the COVID-19 patients’ caregivers was low, this was because their focus was not on the negative. Their focus was in the love they have for their family member and using different strategies to face the virus so the patient’s quality of life is not affected. Through the informant’s stories, it was conclusive that these caregivers did not suffer from work overload during the COVID-19 patient’s care; they also demonstrated their feelings love and family unity.

    Afrontamiento familiar ante el diagnóstico y evolución de la enfermedad ataxia de friedreich

    Introduction: Friedreich's ataxia is considered rare or infrequent because it has a prevalence of 4 / 1,000,000 and an incidence of 6 / 1,000,000 inhabitants: This pathology is hereditary neurodegenerative of a progressive nature that causes dependence in those who suffer from it, therefore that family coping with the diagnosis and evolution of the disease is a determining factor in achieving wellbeing and quality of life for the patient and the family. Objective: To describe the family coping with the diagnosis and evolution of the neurodegenerative disease Friedreich's Ataxia in one of its members. Methods: A qualitative-descriptive investigation was carried out, semi-structured interviews were carried out with the family group of the patient with Friedreich's Ataxia, keeping the ethical principles of autonomy, respect and confidentiality of the information; Once the interviewees had been completed, the information was triangulated and the analysis was carried out using the methodology of Demaziére D. and Dubar C. Results: From the diagnosis and evolution of Friedreich's Ataxia, the relatives experienced negative feelings, economic changes emerged family, social and quality of life, in addition, care is difficult, so the main caregiver presented overload. However, the family has managed to cope positively using strategies focused on the problem and emotions. Conclusions: The family used coping strategies focused on emotions and focused on the problem, since they used emotional self-control, acceptance of responsibilities, positive reassessment, family and spiritual support, search for information about the disease and treatment alternatives.
