(2025-03-06) Quisintuña Galarza, Bryan Sebastian; Gaibor González, Ismael Álvaro; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica
Psychological well-being implies the development of capabilities and personal growth, while academic self efficacy is defined as the self-belief to achieve success in the academic environment. The objective of the study was to determine if there is a relationship between these variables in 151 adolescents between 13 and 17 years of age, students of a private educational institution in the city of Ambato, Ecuador. The Psychological Well-Being Scale for Young People (BIEPS-J) and the Academic Situations Specific Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale (EAPESA) were used as measurement instruments. The study was cross-sectional and correlational, finding a moderate positive relationship between both variables. In addition, most of the participants presented average levels of psychological well-being and an aboveaverage score in academic self-efficacy. Significant gender differences were also found in self-efficacy, with males having a higher mean than females. Implications of these results are discussed.

(2025-03-05) Garcés Obregón, Jesy Nayeli; Gavilanes Manzano, Fanny Rocío; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica
Nowadays, social networks are a circumstantial tool for communication and social development of people, therefore, the present study aimed to determine the relationship between addiction to social networks and psychological well-being. A total of 206 students from a university in Latacunga - Ecuador participated in the study. The research has a nonexperimental design, with a descriptive-correlational scope. Two psychometric instruments were applied to measure the study variables: the Escurra and Salas Social Network Addiction Questionnaire (ARS) and the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale (EBPR). The results showed a low positive correlation between the study variables, which implies that the greater the use of social networks, the higher the level of psychological well-being also increases slightly. A high level of addiction (81.1) was obtained with respect to the mean of all participants, and a moderate level of psychological well-being (61.2 %). A comparison by sex showed that there were no significant differences between men and women, therefore, a low positive correlation was concluded (p=0.078), suggesting that as long as there is a prolonged use of social networks, the dimensions that encompass psychological well-being such as autonomy, mastery of the environment, purpose in life, and personal growth tend to increase slightly in the study population.

Body image is the mental representation that each person has of his or her own body and psychological well-being arises when the state of mental functioning is in its best condition, discarding negative aspects. The main purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between body image and psychological well-being in university students. The study had a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, correlational and crosssectional scope. The sample consisted of 101 university students, 79 men and 22 women between 18 and 30 years of age. The Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) adapted by Solano and Cano in 2010 was used to evaluate the body image variable and the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale adapted to Spanish by Díaz in 2006 was used to evaluate psychological well-being. The results showed that there is no correlation between the variables; they do not present body image concerns (80.2%), and show high psychological well-being (39.6%). No relevant differences were found in psychological well -being according to sex.

Satisfaction with muscular appearance and psychological well-being is a topic that, although little studied, may offer a better understanding in the scientific community. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between satisfaction with muscula r appearance and psychological well-being in young adult athletes. The sample consiste d of 118 participants, including women and men, ranging in age from 18 to 35 years. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach, non-experim ental design, cross - sectional and correlational in scope. The following instruments were used: the Muscula r Appearance Satisfaction Scale (MASS) by Mayville et al. (2002) and the Psychologi c a l Well-Being Scale by Carol Ryff (1989), the version adapted to Spanish by Díaz et al. (2006). Pearson's test was applied to determine the correlation. The results showed a slight positive relationship between both variables (R= 0.343 p< 0.001). Therefore, it is concluded that the greater the satisfaction with muscular appearance, the greater the psychological wellbeing of the athletes.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-08-01) Condorcana Pérez, Dayana Mishel; Mena Freire Ps. Cl. Mgs., Marco Antonio
Alcohol consumption is a social issue that affects both young and adult populations, and its excessive or risky use can have detrimental effects on mental and emotional health. High alcohol consumption can decrease psychological well-being, which is characterized by life satisfaction, positive self-acceptance, healthy interpersonal relationships, a sense of purpose, and continuous personal growth. The primary objective of this study is to establish the relationship between psychological well-being and alcohol consumption using a quantitative method with a descriptive-correlational approach. The sample includes 110 adults, with an average age of 38.9, of whom 68% are men and 42% are women. The instruments used are the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale with 39 items and the AUDIT Questionnaire, which assesses the level of risk in alcohol consumption. The results indicate a close negative relationship between psychological well-being and alcohol consumption, with no significant gender differences in consumption patterns. This pattern reflects an evolution in social and cultural norms, with women increasingly engaging in drinking practices traditionally associated with men. The increase in risky consumption can lead to negative consequences for psychological well-being.

Cl. Mg.
The objective of this research was to relate personality dimensions with psychological well-being in caregivers of people with disabilities. This research is descriptive and correlational, we worked with a population sample of 90 caregivers of people with disabilities who belong to the home visit program of the "Fundación Construyamos un Sueño". Psychological tests such as the Eysenck EPQ-R Personality Questionnaire and the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale were applied. The data analysis was carried out with the statistical program (SPSS) through the Spearman's Rho statistical correlation test, which determined that there is a relationship between the Personality Dimensions and Psychological Well-being. The dimension of extraversion is related to the dimensions of self-acceptance, purpose of life and total well-being, the dimension of neuroticism is related to the dimensions of mastery of the environment and positive relationships, the dimension of psychoticism had no correlation with the dimensions of Psychological Well-being and the sincerity scale was related to the domain of the environment and total wellbeing dimensions. In addition, it was determined that the most prevalent dimension in caregivers was psychoticism, followed by the dimension of neuroticism and extraversion, the sincerity scale obtained a very high rank regarding the truthfulness of the answers. Regarding psychological well-being, a high range was obtained with 77% of caregivers. There were no statistically significant differences in the scores of both tests according to gender, except in psychoticism
