Item SATISFACCIÓN MUSCULAR Y AUTOCONCEPTO FÍSICO EN USUARIOS DE GIMNASIOS(2025-03-05) Bautista Albán, María de los Ángeles; Gavilanes Gómez, Guillermo Daniel; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología ClínicaMuscle satisfaction and physical self-concept are variables that together have been studied infrequently, since they are mostly directed towards the population that attends gyms and physical activity centers, so the objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between muscle satisfaction and physical selfconcept in gym users, within a sample of 125 male and female participants. The study had a quantitative, non-experimental and cross-sectional approach, and validated and standardized instruments were used: Muscle Appearance Satisfaction Scale (MASS) in its Spanish adapted version, Escala de Satisfacción Muscular (ESM) and the Cuestionario de Autoconcepto Físico (CAF). The results show a low positive correlation between muscle satisfaction with the strength dimension (Rho=0.263, p<0.003), low negative with general physical self-concept (Rho=-0.205, p<0.022) and low negative with general selfconcept (Rho=-0.206, p<0.021); specifically, the mean of muscle satisfaction was 51.5; in addition, there were no statistically significant differences between the means of men and women in muscle satisfaction (U=1559, p>0.05). It is concluded that muscle satisfaction is related to three dimensions of the physical self-concept variable.Item ENTRENAMIENTO MUSCULAR DEL SUELO PÉLVICO DESPUÉS DEL PARTO: REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA(2025-02-26) Caicedo Proaño, Victoria Sarahi; Ortiz Villalba, Paola Gabriela; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de FisioterapiaIntroduction: the training of pelvic floor muscles is a recommended strategy to improve the quality of life in postpartum women, addressing common issues such as urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. This systematic review evaluated the effectiveness of various interventions, including supervised programs, biofeedback, electrical stimulation, and core stabilization exercises. Method: thirteen studies were identified through searches in PubMed, Cochrane, and Google Scholar. Results: the results indicated that supervised interventions, especially those supported by technologies like mobile applications and feedback devices, show significant improvements in muscle strength, symptom reduction, and quality of life, outperforming unsupervised methods. However, some studies did not find significant differences in aspects such as pain relief or prolapse recovery, highlighting the importance of personalizing protocols. Additionally, variability in study designs and methodologies limits the generalization of the findings. Conclusions: supervised pelvic floor training, complemented by innovative technologies, is an effective tool for postpartum rehabilitation. However, it is necessary to standardize protocols and evaluate long-term effects to optimize future interventions.Item EFECTOS DE LA SUPLEMENTACIÓN DE CREATINA EN EL RENDIMIENTO FÍSICO Y TERAPÉUTICO DE PATOLOGÍAS(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Medicina, 2024-09-25) Pacheco Hurtado, Saul Patricio; Tufiño Aguilar, Andrea AlexandraCreatine is a nitrogenous compound that is found naturally in the body, especially in the muscles and brain, its supplementation has shown positive effects in different populations and for various physiological and pathological conditions. The objectiveof the present study is to address the benefits of supplementation of this compound at different stages of life, as well as in certain degenerative pathologies, for which a bibliography search of articles and meta-analyses published in English during the last years was carried out. In the last 5 years, in different scientific search engines, it wasconcluded that creatine is a safe and economical supplement that, in certain groups such as pregnant women and older adults and clinical situations such as neural degeneration, can provide benefits in terms of health, body composition and capacity physical.Item EJERCICIOS DE FUERZA-RESISTENCIA PARA MEJORAR EL DOLOR EN PACIENTES CON ARTROSIS DE RODILLA(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2024-08-28) Chango Tubón, Nury Aidé; Bonilla Ayala, Josselyn GabrielaThe aim is to compare whether performing muscle strengthening exercises (EF) is better than doing aerobic exercises (EA), or vice versa, to reduce pain and improve physical capacity in individuals with knee osteoarthritis. A comprehensive search of databases was conducted, and 13 relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were selected, of which the quality was evaluated using the Pedro and Amstar scales. The results showed differences in the duration and type of exercise among the studies; approximately 33.33% supported the efficacy of resistance training, 26.67% aerobic training, and 40% concluded that both interventions are equally important. The importance of considering an integrated approach combining both interventions to optimize outcomes in patients with knee osteoarthritis is emphasized, as each offers complementary benefits. Strength training improves muscle strength, while aerobic exercise addresses central sensitization, both reducing pain and enhancing physical capacity.Item Evaluación funcional del miembro inferior en futbolistas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2022-09-01) López López, Freddy Israel; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía, Lcda. MSc.The present research work aims to analyze the functional strength of the lower limb of soccer players through functional tests such as the two-legged squat, single-legged squat and vertical jump, which are tests that allow knowing the functional strength as well as the explosive force of the lower limb. The research has a quantitative approach evaluating the muscle strength that is compromised in the activity of soccer players. The tests to be carried out are a standard that allows a quick evaluation in which data is obtained on functional strength as well as shortcomings presented by soccer players that are directly related to their performance both in training and in a match. Ft. Mg.At the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security Hospital (IESS) in Latacunga, appendix surgeries are often performed, which are complicated in moderate amounts, due to their invasive surgical procedures where they require administering sedation, analgesia and sometimes they are induced to mechanical ventilation, so in some cases there has been a decrease in the capacity of the muscles that help in breathing. Then, in the post - operative period, the patient will require oxygen, pain in the abdominal cavity and therefore they will avoid position changes. The inspiratory capacity will be reduced and causing complications in the future. Therefore, a cardiorespiratory training plan has been designed, made from research documents and scientific journals, the same one that was approved by professionals knowledgeable in the subject and socialized to the rehabilitation staff, therefore, to obtain data, surveys were carried out. of satisfaction, in which it has been concluded that it was a satisfactory job and a help plan for the knowledge of the health personnel of the IESS Latacunga Hospital and thus provide quality care to the patient.Item “Análisis del entrenamiento fitness en los gimnasios de la ciudad de Ambato”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Terapia Física, 2020-02-01) Fonseca Mejía, Paúl Mauricio; Cobo Sevilla, Verónica de los Ángeles Lcda MSc.The purpose of this research was to analyze fitness training and its results, which has been of great interest, both for gym users, as well as for their owners, managers and trainers in the planning and proper execution of physical training. Msc.At present one of the main causes of consultation is the pathology of the rotator cuff as to the branch of physiotherapy, since the shoulder is one of the joints with more mobility in the human body so it is exposed to injuries. Rotator cuff injury affects a significant group of athletes and non-athletes and is a pathological condition characterized by pain when performing activities that exceed 90 ° of flexion and 90 ° of abduction of the shoulder. The objective of this project is to determine the influence of progressive loading on rotator cuff injuries in people who attend the Extreme GYM gym in the city of Ambato. Este estudio conto con la participación voluntaria de 30 sujetos que asisten al gimnasio "Extreme GYM" of the city of Ambato, the progressive burden was assessed by means of a personal data collection form (names and surnames, weight, height and frequency), shoulder exercises performed, the load with which he performed those exercises and Which of these causes pain, the rotator cuff injury was assessed by functional tests (Jobe, Neer, Hawkins Kennedy, Yocum, Patte, Gerber, Minor Round Test and Lag test). The study found that the longer days of training and specifically the front press exercise with the bar could influence the rotator cuff injuries.Item Incidencia de la Incontinencia Urinaria en Deportistas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato.- Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud .- Terapia Física, 2016-11-01) Montoya Verdesoto, Nelly Gabriela; Ortiz Villalva Lcda. Ft. Mg., Paola GabrielaThis research aimed to know the incidence of urinary incontinence in athletes, one of the usual and most referenced in scientific literature ICIQ- SF questionnaire was used, this is a questionnaire that is aimed at detecting symptoms of urinary incontinence in any care setting. This research is qualitative approach because surveys are used to determine the incidence of urinary incontinence in athletes as these will guide the understanding of the problem under study and discovery of the hypothesis. This research is descriptive as it is used to describe characteristics of the study population. It is also a studio survey as interviews and questionnaires to participants will be used. In the group that worked were 68 students who were administered the survey only once, ie it is a cross-sectional study, data were analyzed, tabulated and processed using descriptive and inferential statistics through the incidence rate which identifies the incidence of urinary incontinence in athletes. This was determined that there are 26 students who have presented episodes of urine loss, these account for 38.32% of the total study population.
