There are numerous studies in which the main consequences are identified. metabolic and increased insulin resistance, total body fat, abdominal fat and inflammatory cytokines. All these factors have been strongly associated with the development of metabolic syndrome, which in turn increases the risk of multiple chronic diseases. Hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases have been identified as possible risk factors for generating serious disease in patients suffering from the disease caused by the SARS COV 2 virus, a pathogen that is involved in the current pandemic. Therefore, proper management of metabolic disorders could be important in reducing the risk of severe COVID-19.
