(2025-03-05) Morejón Buenaño, Karol Valentina; Gaibor Gonzalez, Ismael Alvaro; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica
Character strengths and resilience have been key points in the study of positive psychology, which is why this study aimed to analyze the relationship between these two variables. For this purpose, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, in which a sample of 120 adolescents from an educational institution in the city of Ambato, Ecuador, was taken. The Brief Adolescent Strengths Scale (VIA-YOUTH) by Park and Peterson and the Resilience Scale by Wagnild and Young were applied to the sample. As results obtained, using the statistical program Jamovi 2.3.28, the Shapiro Wilk normality test and the Spearman correlation test, it was indicated that there is a slight to moderate positive correlation between the variables of character strengths and resilience. With the results presented, it is concluded that, as character strengths increase in value, resilience tends to rise. In addition, the total sample obtained high mean scores in the strengths: gratitude, solidarity, teamwork and perseverance, as well as high levels of resilience. Although women showed higher mean resilience scores than men, this difference was not statistically significant.

Resilience and academic self-efficacy are key factors in university students' development and performance, influencing their ability to overcome adversity and their confidence in their own abilities. This research aimed to analyze the relationship between resilience and academic self-efficacy in university students. A quantitative, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional methodology was used with a sample of 501 students from the Veterinary Medicine and Agronomy programs at a university in Ambato, Ecuador. The Resilience Scale (ER) by Wagnild and Young and the Specific Academic Situations Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale (EAPESA) were applied. The results showed a moderate positive correlation between resilience and academic selfefficacy (p < .001). A 64.1% of students exhibited high levels of resilience, and the mean academic self-efficacy score was 25.5. No significant gender differences in resilience levels were found. It is concluded that higher resilience is associated with greater academic self-efficacy, suggesting that strengthening resilience could improve students' academic performance.

This study investigates the relationship between sleep quality and resilience in professional drivers. Sleep quality refers to the satisfaction and effectiveness of nighttime rest, which influences daily performance. Resilience, on the other hand, is the ability to adapt to adverse situations. The study sample consisted of 106 drivers, aged between 25 and 70 years. This work had a quantitative-nonexperimental approach, with a cross-sectional design and correlational scope. For the evaluation, the Pittsburg questionnaire to measure sleep quality and the Wagnild and Young resilience scale were used. Data were analyzed using Spearman's correlation test using the statistical program Jamovi 2.3.28. The results revealed a low negative correlation, indicating that an increase in sleep quality might be associated with lower levels of resilience. 59.4% of the participants reported good sleep quality, while 29.2% showed very low levels of resilience. Importantly, no significant differences in resilience levels were found according to gender. These findings underscore the importance of promoting adequate sleep quality to improve mental health and work performance.

RESILIENCIA Y RIESGO SUICIDA: UN ESTUDIO COMPARATIVO ENTRE VOLUNTARIOS Y NO VOLUNTARIOS
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-09) Velasco Macias, Ivon Nicol; Vargas Espín, Alba Del Pilar
This study aims to compare resilience and suicide risk among volunteers and non-volunteers, in response to the growing increase of suicides in the world and in the Ecuadorian context. A quantitative análisis methodology was applied, descriptive in scope and with a cross-sectional design. In addition, data were collected from 288 volunteers from a non-governmental organization and 701 young people who did not volunteer, using Plutchick's Suicide Risk Scale and Wagnild and Young's Resilience Scale. The results indicated significant differences in resilience between volunteers and non-volunteers (p<.001), showing greater resilience in the first group; however, no significant differences were observed in suicidal risk (p = 0941). This would suggest that volunteering could enhance resilience in those individuals who do not participate in volunteer activities, which has important implications for the design of interventions aimed at strengthening resilience in various social settings.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-09) Toapanta Yancha, Shirley Geomara; Lara Salazar, Cristina Mariela
Academic motivation and resilience are key elements in the academic field. This study investigated the relationship between these two variables in university students, using a sample of 200 participants aged 18 to 25. It has a quantitative-non-experim ental design with a cross-sectional and correlational scope. The Academic Motivation Scale (EMA) and the Resilience Scale (ER) were used. The results, through Spearman's correlation, showed a mild negative correlation between resilience and amotivation (Rho = 0.221, p > 0.05), and mild to moderate positive correlations between resilience and various dimensions of extrinsic motivation regarding external regulation, introjected and identified regulation, and intrinsic motivation regarding achievement, knowledge, and stimulating experiences, with Rho values ranging from 0.514 to 0.677, suggesting that there is significant statistical evidence (p < 0.001). Based on these results, it was concluded that academic motivation is related to resilience as it drives students to overcome difficulties and achieve good academ ic performance, even in unfavorable environments.

Cl. Mg.
The problem of suicide has prompted the search for preventive strategies, highlightin g resilience interventions as a promising approach to mental well-being. The aim of the study was to determine the efficacy of resilience-based psychological interventions for suicidal risk by assessing risk of bias, evidence schematization, and analysis of pre- and post-intervention scores. The systematic review was conducted with 4 articles that were selected with PRISMA methodology. The results show a low risk of bias in most of the studies, with some exceptions. The diversity of the interventions in each study was reflected in the strategies, number of sessions, stratification of participants, variables and instruments used. However, there is evidence of their effectiveness in reducing suicidal behavior and improving mental health. Nevertheless, it is crucial to move towards standardization of these interventions.

    Optimismo y resiliencia en adolescentes
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-03-01) Freire Gavilanes, Evelyn Vanessa; Lara Salazar, Cristina Mariela Psc. Inf. Mg.
