Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-02) Cocha Iguacunchi, Luis Fernando; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolThe project aims to improve connectivity between the communities of Chisulche Grande - Cruz Pungo to promote agricultural and livestock production, shorten travel time and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the area, as they currently have dirt roads. In this technical project a high precision topographic survey was carried out RTK, consecutively counting the vehicular traffic for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, with this information, the road was designed with an engineering program, complying with the MOP 2003 regulations, continued with the relevant tests of the soil samples collected in the field determining their moisture content, granulometry, Atterberg limits, Proctor and CBR, finally, the results of the CBR were used to design the pavement structure using the AASHTO 93 standards; The project studies revealed that the area has undulating relief, therefore, the roadway to be designed is classified as class III, also the soil studies identified that the area has a fine sandy soil (A-3) with a design CBR of 16. The studies also identified that the area has a fine sandy soil (A-3) with a design CBR of 16. 50 percent for pavement, showing that the thickness of the asphalt layer is 5 centimetres, a granular base thickness of 10 centimetres and a subbase of 15 centimetres. Finally, after the development of the research, a reference budget was drawn up based on real prices, identifying the necessary elements, labour, materials and equipment and their respective technical specifications.Item Elaboración de un plan de mantenimiento de la vía comprendida entre los barrios Danzapamba y San José de Barba la Y desde la abscisa 0+000 hasta 5+000, cantón Pujilí.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2025-02) Guzmán Bayas, Rubén Alejandro; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolGiven the advanced deterioration of the Danzapamba and San José de Barba la Y neighborhood roads, the current safety and road infrastructure standards do not meet the technical requirements necessary to guarantee their optimal serviceability, for which a comprehensive and sustainable maintenance plan is proposed. This responds directly to the urgent need for adequate, modern and efficient road infrastructure for the continued progress of the inhabitants to ensure their safety and that of road users in general. To establish an effective road maintenance plan, we began with a thorough assessment of the road's current condition. This critical stage involved techniques such as topographic surveying with the aid of a high-precision RTK instrument, as well as detailed traffic studies and laboratory soil analysis. The evaluation of the Pavement Index (PCI) complemented this information, allowing the existing deterioration to be quantified. With this data, an optimal structural package for flexible pavements was designed and a reference budget was prepared, thus ensuring an efficient and long-lasting road intervention. After a thorough analysis, it was established that the evaluated road has an extension of 5 km, which is paved in its entirety, and it is expected that in the next 20 years an average of 6792 vehicles/day will circulate on it. Considering these characteristics, the road was classified as a class I road. The soil studies indicated an average CBR index of 16.50 percent, classifying the soil as fair to good for subgrade use. Based on this data, the flexible pavement was designed with a thickness of 5 cm of asphalt layer, 20 cm of base and 20 cm of subbase, thus obtaining a value of 45 cm of structural package. Finally, an economic analysis was performed, resulting in an estimated total project cost of $685.945,65.Item Rediseño geométrico y del pavimento de los tramos: Playa – Rayoloma, Rayoloma – Tuglín y Tuglín – Yacubamba con una longitud de 5.17 km, del cantón Pujilí, provincia de Cotopaxi(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-01) Caillagua Fonseca, María Salomé; López Arboleda, Alex GustavoGiven the need for an improvement in the existing road infrastructure in the communities of La Playa, Rayoloma, Tuglín and Yacubamba, the proposal of this technical project arises. It began with a field inspection and the current state of the sections of road, the different characteristics of the terrain and the most relevant points or sites were identified, which served as a basis for carrying out the topographic survey itself, which was carried out with the help of a drone and RTK as precision equipment. The vehicle count was carried out manually and the type of road necessary to supply the projected vehicular flow was determined, obtaining a class III collector road and after that, the geometric redesign of the road sections was carried out using the parameters established by the regulations. MOP 2003. Through the soil studies carried out with samples extracted from the sections of the road in accordance with the specifications of the standards, the physical and mechanical properties of the soil were identified, which allowed the design of a pavement structure with thicknesses of base, subbase and suitable asphalt folder to guarantee functionality and safety. This design was based on the AASTHO 93 standard. In addition, the design of minor drainage works (ditches) and signaling, required for this project, was carried out. Finally, a referential budget was established based on updated prices and establishing the items, volumes of work and necessary technical specifications.
