Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-03) Brito Chagcha, Karen Beatriz; Núñez Cruz, William Steve; Mayacela Rojas, Celia MargaritaFor the accomplishment of this project, we identify the type of reactive material for the media filter, considering the nominal and critical size of sand, as a starting point to determining the design of the length and diameter of the column, obtaining the minimum length of the thickness for the reactive material in the filter based on preliminary studies, for the system to works at its maximum capacity; subsequently, where all the necessary information for the column design was collected, the corresponding necessary flow calculations were made based on the filtration rates, recommended by several authors, and therefore we use the design parameters of a rapid filter due to a greater efficiency obtained in pollutants removal and shorter system operating time. In order to validate the design of the experimental column test system, a filter medium maintenance system was incorporated when required, for which a pumping and piping system was selected to guarantee its cleaning. After the design stage, the column test system was modeled using SolidWorks software due to the ease of generating accessories and materials necessary for assembly and showing in detail the process that leads to the construction of the system.
