Item Implementación del proceso de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía Patate - Píllaro en el tramo KM 19+200 al KM 23+000 de la provincia de Tungurahua.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2019) Chuqui Lanchimba, Jessica Elizabeth; Cañizares Proaño, Byron GenaroThis model of road conservation will be applied in the Patate -Píllaro road, section 6 that corresponds from km 19 + 200 to km 23 + 000 of the Píllaro canton of Tungurahua province. A traffic study was carried out in which it was determined that the current Annual Average Traffic (TPDA) of the road is of 2521 vehicles / day and classifies the road as a way of order II collecting type that collects all the traffic of the neighborhood roads in addition to joining two important parishes such as San Miguelito and La Matriz in Píllaro To perform the functional evaluation, the methodology of Surface Evaluation of Pavements was applied, a simple, economical and easy to apply method that evaluates the superficial state of the analyzed pathway by means of a Pavement Condition Index (PCI). The Benkelman beam was used to evaluate the structural behavior of the road, this nondestructive test is easy to apply and it is economical compared to other methods of structural evaluation. From the results obtained it was concluded that the behavior of the subgrade is good but the behavior of the pavement structure is bad because currently the road does not have an adequate pavement structure, which is corroborated with the results obtained from the study of soils. With the soil study it was confirmed that the properties of the base layer do not meet the specifications proposed by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP), however the characteristics of the subgrade are very good. Carried out all the road inventory proposed by this road maintenance model, it is suggested to carry out the rehabilitation of the Patate - Píllaro road, section 6 that corresponds to km 19 + 200 to km 23 + 000, providing an adequate structure that guarantees the functionality and comfort of the road.
