Item Diseño de un plan de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía Catimbo - Chiambiato ABS 0+000 – 4+300 de la provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-08) Pizarro Lindo, Diego Mauricio; Núñez Aldás, Galo WilfridoThe current state of the Catimbo - Chiambiato Road was addressed, characterized by concerning deterioration in the road surface structure. Given this situation, it was imperative to thoroughly analyze the road conditions to identify areas most affected by deformations and wear, in order to propose an appropriate conservation plan to enhance its quality and safety. A rigorous research process was conducted, involving a topographic survey and an assessment of traffic using the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) methodology. These analyses provided a detailed view of the road situation, identifying critical points with significant deterioration problems. Additionally, fundamental aspects such as soil characteristics, Proctor, PCI, and CBR were evaluated to determine the main causes of observed deterioration. Based on the analysis, a comprehensive conservation plan was proposed, encompassing various corrective actions. These included patching and repairing potholes and cracks, resurfacing the road surface, and implementing erosion control measures. The plan was grounded in clear conservation objectives and tailored to existing budget limitations. Furthermore, it employed a methodology based on Ecuadorian road regulations and applied scientific and technical criteria to ensure reliable results. The study offered a holistic view of the road's condition, proposing an effective conservation plan aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of the road segment.Item Evaluación de las vías urbanas en el cantón Ambato del sector comprendido entre la calle Quis Quis, Av. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-03) Bayas Araujo, Mauro Gustavo; Aldás Sánchez, Milton RodrigoThis project presents the need to know the constant deterioration of the urban roads under study, so information is collected on the current state of the wearing course to locate the faults in roads, sidewalks and curbs, and consequently, to manage actions that will facilitate maintenance, optimizing resources and materials that would be used for a subsequent repair. For the development of this project began with the study of the different types of existing faults in the pavements located in the area, after this, the survey of information of the faults in the road infrastructure was performed for which each of the streets established within the study area was visited through the use of measuring instruments such as: GPS, and Topographic Odometer, which comprises the collection of the type of fault that is presented, and the characteristics such as: severity and area of affectation, each of them located by geographical coordinates and photographic record. At the end of the evaluation, an information matrix was obtained detailing each of the important aspects of the failures in the road structure within the study area, as well as a budget of UDS 123,536.30 so that in the future it can be executed with the road maintenance of the selected area and also obtained a dynamic aid that facilitates the visualization of each of the failures carried out with the help of a digital tool.
