    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Advances and growth in the field of commercial and industrial activity of private companies in the city of Ambato, has also encouraged decentralized entities such as the GAD Municipality of Ambato to strengthen its service lines, participating operationally within these activities the municipal workshops, of which the carpentry area is part which in post to improve its efficiency has implemented machines and tools that in turn have increased the exposure of municipal workers and servants to noise levels that exceed the permitted limits by the applicable legal regulations, turning that into a latent problem that has resulted in affectations in both their physical and mental well-being. In line with what has been described above, this research work aims to delve into the problem addressed by generating technical information regarding the noise levels to which the workers and municipal servants of the workshop's carpentry area are exposed. Municipalities and based on this information establish solutions, through four lines of action with which it has to strengthen the safety and health of employees in the Municipality of Ambato and corresponding to the amounts of the budget items approved in session of Advice for the acquisition of personal protection equipment, maintenance of machines and tools, occupational medicine (health monitoring) and finally remodeling or retrofitting of municipal buildings after the preparation of the respective feasibility project carried out by respective competent Municipal for that purpose.
