    This project details the implementation of Quality of Service (QoS) policies for the Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo de la Fuerza Aérea Ecuatoriana network, with the objective of efficiently managing and prioritizing network traffic, improving the performance of the infrastructure for providing stability, scalability and adequate support to the institution's important applications. The research was developed using the Cisco's PPDIOO methodology, allowing the work to be structured in several phases. The analysis of the current state of the network, identification of areas for improvement and design of solutions focused| on optimizing the use of bandwidth by identifying the ports and protocols used by applications. The experimental process focused on establishing a functional QoS scheme in a simulated network environment, prioritizing applications based to their importance and requirements. This process included the segmentation of the network using VLANs, the implementation of traffic shaping by assigning bandwidth policies for the different types of traffic and marking packets with DSCP values. Additionally, the queuing type on the institution's FortiGate device was configured to ensure optimal traffic management based on established priorities. Finally, the results obtained allowed to evaluate the advantages of using QoS and to determine the optimization of the traffic that the CIDFAE network can take, promoting a more robust network prepared for growth and the adoption of new technologies.
