Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2022-02) Durán Ocaña, Julio César; Morales Perrazo, Luis AlbertoBy not working with the Lean Manufacturing philosophy, companies generate waste and therefore economic losses, therefore, the purpose of this research is to carry out a Lean Six Sigma analysis in the process of making polyvinyl chloride boots in the Milboots company, located in Ambato city. The project is based on the Lean Six Sigma methodology, which combines an instruction manual or also known as the DMAIC cycle, with lean manufacturing tools; a qualitativequantitative approach is used with data that follow a Poisson distribution. The main waste generated in the production process and that causes economic losses, are the defects in the yellow / blue and black / crepe 4x4 PVC boots, these being the product with the highest demand. There are two critical processes that correspond to the injection of the aforementioned products, these are under statistical control, and with an average sigma level of 3, however, they are not fully capable of meeting customer specifications. Finally, it is determined that the company does not work with a quality philosophy because the staff do not have a commitment to continuous improvement, which allows increasing levels of competitiveness at the national level, furthermore, don´t work based on a quality policy, which entails achieving short and long-term objectives.
