    Safety laws and regulations are applied in all business environments with the main objective of protecting people who are the most valuable resource of the company and carry out work activities under risky conditions. The Hidalgo Tannery, a company dedicated to the production of leather, has few plans, requirements and technical documents that address the risk factors necessary to prevent or reduce accidents and physical damage in the workplace. The poor training of workers in safety measures, their overconfidence when carrying out their tasks and lack of knowledge about the correct use of personal protective equipment are some of the causes that have generated the presence of risks in the company. Through the research carried out, it was proposed as a solution to the problem to propose an industrial safety technical management plan based on the independent study and analysis of the work areas and considering the regulations currently established within the national statutes and regulations. The most critical risks were identified in the production area, with mechanical risks being the most serious, and it was detected that noise levels exceed the permitted limit (85dBA) in workplaces such as hairdressing, fleshing, dividing, tanning, softened, pigmented and ironed. Furthermore, factors such as the lack of signage, disorder, the absence of training and the lack of prevention plans aggravate the levels of occupational risk in the company.

    Planificación estratégica basada en la metodología PETI para el Departamento de Tecnologías de la Información (TI) del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado (GAD) Municipalidad de Ambato

    Currently, public administration, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are essential to modernize institutions and optimize services. This research project designs a Strategic Plan for the IT Department of the GAD Municipalidad de Ambato, aimed at strengthening its digital transformation and improving its municipal management. The plan is based on the PETI methodology (Planificación Estratégica de Tecnologías de la Información), structured in four essential phases: situational analysis, business model, IT model and strategic planning. This systematic approach has made it possible to develop a comprehensive proposal that includes a detailed diagnosis of the department, establishing a business model aligned with the Esquema Gubernamental de Sistemas de Información (EGSI) and defining an action plan with specific indicators and schedules. The implementation of PETI suggests concrete strategies for the automation of processes, the strengthening of technological infrastructure and the optimization of resources. The analysis emphasizes the importance of establishing robust cyber security policies, developing training programs in emerging technologies, and adopting monitoring tools. This strategic model lays the foundations for a sustainable digital transformation in the GAD Municipalidad de Ambato, ensuring the continuity of municipal services, improving operational efficiency, and promoting institutional innovation. The proposal not only seeks to modernize technological management, but also to strengthen the municipality's capacity to respond effectively to citizen demands in the digital age.

    Estación de control y monitorización meteorológica y sismológica autosustentable para la Universidad Técnica de Ambato

    At the Technical University of Ambato, the lack of precise and up-to-date data jeopardizes the safety of the campus and its community. Without this system, the response to critical events such as storms and earthquakes would be delayed, increasing vulnerability to natural disasters and complicating resource management and emergency planning. To address these issues, meteorological parameters and seismic activity were identified. The weather station is installed in a strategic location on campus to avoid microclimates and maximize data accuracy. The station is configured on the Wunderground platform, allowing automated data retrieval via an API. Meteorological data is stored in a MySQL database and visualized in real time through Grafana, which includes alerts for critical conditions. For seismic monitoring, an MPU6050 accelerometer sensor integrated with the ESP32 module was used. In addition, a suitable board was designed and assembled, integrating a self-sustaining system. Seismic data is stored and analyzed in a similar manner to meteorological data, providing a complete picture of environmental and seismic conditions. This project has established a robust and efficient infrastructure, improving the safety and risk management of the Universidad Técnica de Ambato. The methodology and technologies used can serve as a model for new similar projects.

    Gestión de riesgos operacionales en la empresa Confecciones Ram Jeans

    The companies dedicated to the washing and dyeing of garments, suffer an impact by not having plans for risk management being affected economically and socially. The three main problems faced by the CONFECCIONES RAM JEANS company are: machinery where failures occur due to mishandling of these causing delays in deliveries, processes that are not standardized tend to have errors in their execution and personnel in charge who do not have the appropriate knowledge to perform their daily tasks. For this reason, an operational risk management study is proposed in which the identification of risks is carried out through an interview under the NTP 107 standard, information collection sheets and other techniques and instruments; then the risk assessment is carried out applying the FMEA methodology that serves to determine the level of priority of the same, using its level of severity, occurrence and detectability. Finally, under the international standard ISO 31000:2018, strategies were ruled to be able to carry out the treatment of risks; in this way, obtaining a maintenance plan to be able to maintain the availability of the equipment; the risk resume, which plays a fundamental role in documenting the origin of the failures, and finally an indicator plan in order to carry out a periodic evaluation of the proposed plan..

    Information technology is currently present in companies dedicated to commerce or services, as they need to effectively handle the information generated through their activities. In a highly competitive environment, information becomes the most important asset for any company, which must be kept secure and available only to authorized personnel. The use of information technology at the enterprise level brings benefits such as process automation, improved communications, and facilitating decision-making. However, there are also risks that, if not detected and mitigated in a timely manner, negatively affect aspects such as reputation, competitiveness, and reliability of the company, resulting in significant long-term economic losses. The purpose of this project is to propose a methodology for managing IT risks through the integration of COBIT 5 and ITIL v4 for the IT governance of "Su Casa" hardware store. For which a methodology was designed based on the best practices of the proposed methodologies. The objective of the methodology is to provide a clear guide for the identification, analysis, and management of IT risks.
