dc.descriptionEl proyecto se enfoca en abordar la necesidad de evaluar el estado actual de las vías urbanas en el cantón Ambato, respondiendo a la creciente problemática de deterioro que afecta su infraestructura vial. La importancia de mantener un nivel óptimo en las condiciones de las carreteras se destaca como un elemento crucial para el desarrollo sostenible de la ciudad. Este deterioro no solo representa un desafío en términos de movilidad y seguridad vial, sino que también impacta directamente en la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos. En este estudio, se llevó a cabo una inspección visual de la capa de rodadura en el área urbana del cantón Ambato, utilizando técnicas de georreferenciación a través de puntos GPS y considerando la extensión de cada vía en el análisis. Se utilizaron como referencias las normativas ASTM D6433-03, la Norma Ecuatoriana Vial y el artículo "Patología de Pavimentos Articulados" para identificar y evaluar las anomalías presentes en las vías, estas pautas sirvieron como marco para categorizar y cuantificar las irregularidades, permitiendo la elaboración de un presupuesto referencial. Adicionalmente se empleó método Índice de Condición de Pavimento (PCI) para conocer el estado de las vías, con el objetivo de proponer estrategias de conservación vial. Como resultado esta investigación mejorara la calidad de vida de los habitantes del sector y al concluir la evaluación se entregará una base de datos al GAD Municipalidad de Ambato para que utilice esta información en beneficio de la sociedad, en un esfuerzo conjunto con la Universidad Técnica de Ambato.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe project focuses on addressing the need to evaluate the current state of urban roads in the canton of Ambato, in response to the growing problem of deterioration affecting its road infrastructure. The importance of maintaining an optimal level of road conditions stands out as a crucial element for the sustainable development of the city. This deterioration not only represents a challenge in terms of mobility and road safety, but also has a direct impact on the quality of life of citizens. In this study, a visual inspection of the wearing course was carried out in the urban area of the Ambato canton, using geo-referencing techniques through GPS points and considering the extension of each road in the analysis. ASTM D6433-03 standards, the Ecuadorian Road Standard and the article "Pathology of Articulated Pavements" were used as references to identify and evaluate the anomalies present in the roads; these guidelines served as a framework to categorize and quantify the irregularities, allowing the preparation of a referential budget. In addition, the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method was used to determine the condition of the roads in order to propose road maintenance strategies. As a result, this research will improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the sector and at the end of the evaluation a database will be delivered to the GAD Municipality of Ambato to use this information for the benefit of society, in a joint effort with the Technical University of Ambato.es_ES
