The evaluations were carried out at home for one hour with each participant in which the tests were applied correctly and gradually. The effects found in this study with respect to sensory alterations in older adults were evidenced by problems in the sensory system of some participants, which caused problems in their health and quality of life. Objective: To determine the sensory alterations of older adults. Materials and methods: This research present a descriptive quantitative approach, due to the methodology used in data collection and analysis of sensory alterations based xvi on evidence that is oriented to study the problems of older adults in the rural area of Atahualpa. Results: the application of the tests in the elderly allowed us to know more in depth the problems of sensory alterations suffered by these people in the rural area of Atahualpa and how they should interact in a positive way to prevent or treat these pathologies presented by the elderly.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Terapia Física, 2020-08-01) Tibán Yánez, Jessica Lissette; Moscoso Córdova, Grace VerónicaLcda. Mg.
Upon reaching the elderly there is a progressive deterioration of several fundamental pillars that allow independence, both functional and cognitive and improve the quality of life, so there are significant changes in groups that perform and not physical activity. Thus, this research work was established to assess both independence, functional capacity and tone analysis in older adults who perform and don't exercise. This is a bibliographic-documentary, field, exploratory, descriptive and cross-sectional study, which included 40 older adults who met the requirements for the different tests. Once the population to investigate was determined, the tools used for data collection necessary for the development of this research were chosen, the SENIOR FITNESS TEST which is a 6 years long test. This test values flexibility and it also was used to value upper body strength, to train lower endurance and dynamic balance. Moreover a data collection sheet was used: CLÍNICAL HISTORY an assessment test of independence: BARTHEL TEST and test TONE EVALUATIÓN. Giving us as a result that the functional capacity of the elderly has a strict relationship with the amount of physical activity they perform. This happens because the group that does the most physical activity shows better results.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Terapia Física, 2020-02-01) Ramón Cáceres, Raúl Alexander; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía Lcda. Mg.
The current study has been carried out with the aim to define a therapeutic exercise program based on music therapy for elders who present balance problems. The intervention was planned for 56 elders belonging to Picaihua Tungurahua, with an age above 60 years. From this group, 41 patients were female and the remaining 15 were male. The intervention used different exercise characteristics based on music therapy. The duration was 28 sessions, 3 times per week measured between 40 to 45 minutes each. The ability to maintain motor coordination, static and dynamic balance at the start and end of the intervention was evaluated through the application of two tests that facilitated the interpretation of the results. After the re-evaluation of the participants, it was established that the level of initial deterioration went from high risk of falls to medium risk of falls at the end. The implementation of exercises based on music therapy represents remarkable progress on balance, which symbolizes a lower risk of falls.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2018-06-01) Moreno Jiménez, Jessica Estefanía; Lcda. Robalino Morales Mg., Gabriela Estefanía,
The adaptation and validation of the KTK Test, which was originally applied in children, was proposed as an objective to detect changes in body coordination in the elderly. The methodological process was developed with a systematic adaptation of this instrument, according to the physical and gross motor state of the elderly, reviewing scientific information; while, the items of the test questionnaire were remitted by a committee of experts who reviewed the manual and approved it through a revision file. Finally, the adapted test was applied to 200 randomly selected participants, so that the total scores between the Tinetti scale and the KTK Test were made and compared. These results were subjected to a statistical analysis to assess their internal consistency through the calculation of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, with the statistical SPSSv20, to know the reliability and internal consistency of the instrument. In conclusion, the KTK Test adapted to the elderly ¿, to detect alterations of body coordination, is reliable and has a high internal consistency by providing a value of 0.835 of the alpha

The use of technology and mobile applications in comprehensive health care during the last few years, have allowed to increase their efficiency and validity, for which, this has been forced to extend its borders through feedback and updating of knowledge based in the falecias reflected in health care centers, in order to cover all areas of care and treatment required by both the patient and health professionals. A quantitative and longitudinal Cuasi-experimental study was carried out, where the geriatric population of the Home of Elders Sacred Heart of Jesus of Canton Ambato participated in the study after being selected by non-random sampling, whose inclusion criteria stood out in older adults with a age range ≥ 65 years at risk of pressure ulcers in stage I. The data collection was carried out during the months of November and December of 2017. The BRADEN, NPUAP and PUSH with the purpose of evaluating and monitoring the evolution of the participants throughout the study by implementing the use of a mobile physiotherapeutic application (Pressure Ulcer Guide) aimed at offering appropriate and timely postural changes for the prevention of the appearance of ulcers pressure. Due to the almost null existence of information and publication of scientific articles that allow to determine the vulnerable populations to suffer pathologies that are evidenced after long periods of lodging as well as the use of technology in them as a tool of prevention and treatment, it has been resolved to collect relevant information from countries and regions with standardized protocols in order to create, not only a new source of data storage, but the beginning of a field of study that allows to extend its borders in the development of physiotherapeutic interventions that allow prevention of pressure ulcers through the use of mobile applications capable of being used both by professionals in the field of health and by the care personnel in care facilities in geriatric care.
