Currently, mobile phones have become an essential part of daily life, especially among students. However, their excessive use has raised significant concerns, for which few or no effective solutions have been provided to date. This study focuses on the control and monitoring of students to combat nomophobia and the problems associated with this condition. An applied research approach was conducted, utilizing surveys directed at representatives, students, and teachers from an educational institution. These surveys allowed for the collection of requirements from representatives and teachers for the development of two interconnected applications. Meanwhile, data on the causes of nomophobia were gathered from the students. Additionally, the research was complemented with documentary records to better determine the indicators of nomophobia. The project led to the development of two applications for Android devices. The first, named “Monitora,” is designed to enable representatives to control and monitor students. The second, “Guardian,” operates as a service that collects data related to mobile phone usage and complies with the instructions provided by “Monitora.” For the implementation, Kotlin was used as the programming language, Jetpack Compose for building the user interface, and Firebase Realtime Database as the data storage system. This eliminated the need for a traditional backend and enabled the use of a backend as a service (BaaS). Moreover, the agile Mobile-D methodology was adopted, facilitating development through periodic delivery of functionalities.

Over time, commerce has experienced accelerated growth, which has generated a global expansion of supermarkets. due to their high competition, their main objective is the customer experience. This study addresses one of the most common challenges in the supermarket checkout process, specifically in handling unlabeled products. Therefore, applied research has been used, combining surveys of cashier staff and a sample of customers to collect information and opinions, in order to identify perceptions and possible improvements, while the assistance of the staff in generating their barcode when it is presented in a purchase, which customer discomfort and even lead to lost sales. The project materializes as a mobile application for Android devices, built-in Kotlin using Jetpack Compose. This application was also guided by the 5 phases of the Mobile-d methodology, developed with an API-Rest from Nodejs and an administrative panel in the Angular framework. Finally, the project has successfully culminated with the implementation of an innovative solution. Through a search accompanied by images for easy identification. Additionally, unique linear barcodes have been generated for each product and for each meat product based on the weight of the scale, which can be scanned at the invoicing points for an efficient collection process.

Mobile applications have transformed the way we interact in society. Currently, there is a diversity of applications designed to cover all kinds of needs and interests, from educational and work tools to applications that facilitate our daily activities. The project aims to manage the delivery of information about the academic and cultural activities of the Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial, in order to provide a centralized space to access information, receive relevant notifications, evaluate and share opinions. In the development of the mobile application "InfoApp", the Mobile-D methodology is applied in order to achieve an agile and efficient development process through periodic deliveries of functionalities. In addition, the Android Studio development environment with the Kotlin programming language is used. To manage the backend of the application, Firebase is used for database hosting and management, as it offers a wide range of services and tools aimed at simplifying backend administration. Among the services used are user authentication, Realtime Database for the database and Cloud Storage for image storage. As a result of this process, the mobile application "InfoApp" was created, which facilitates and optimizes the dissemination of information on FISEI's academic and cultural activities, improving interaction and feedback between the Faculty and its community.

In recent years, the capabilities of mobile devices have been increasing, along with the emergence of problems such as data theft and identity fraud. Today, all users have a mobile device that generates a high level of interest for attackers. This broad interest is due to the fact that users store documents, photos or videos without using protection mechanisms. The objective of this project is to implement a mobile application focused on encrypting data stored locally, through a mechanism that is executed through movement patterns captured by device sensors or through direct user commands. The objective is to mitigate problems related to data exposure and theft through the internet or through device theft, which would compromise the personal integrity of users. In designing the mobile application, the MADLC methodology and Kanban were used to track the activities carried out during development, along with the MVVM architecture to create the project structure, due to its adaptability with Android Studio and real-time communication between data and interfaces. Additionally, Cipher was used to encrypt or decrypt data, in conjunction with two integrated sensors (accelerometer, orientation) to recognize the movement pattern.

he use of technology is no longer a privileged resource but an inevitable resource within the reach of many people. In education, the teaching methodology has the need to adjust academic content with technological progress. The present project aims to develop an application to teach Ecuadorian Sign Language, since currently the applications that teach this language instruct basic elements. In this way the application aims to educate from basic elements to advanced vocabulary, in addition to constantly adding new signs because the sign language is constantly growing. For the development of the application, the Mobile-D methodology was used to have a better flexibility and speed in the face of changes during development, using the Kotlin programming language, Javascript in Node.js as backend and the database in PostgreSQL. Finally, the main objective of the mobile application was achieved, to create a useful tool to teach Ecuadorian sign language using smartphones.
