Item Factores asociados a la violencia contra los estudiantes de enfermería del internado rotativo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Shingón De La Cruz, Lisbeth Maritza; Arráiz de Fernández, CarolinaIntroduction: violence is a public health problem, among which we find workplace violence, which is identified when a worker suffers abuse, threats, attacks that can be verbal and physical. Rotating internship nursing students play an important role within healthcare institutions. Objective: to determine the factors associated with violence against nursing students in the rotating boarding school. Methods: the study presents a non-experimental research design with a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach in a group of nursing students of the rotating internship, with a sample of 121 participants, to whom a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.717 of Alpha Cronbach was applied. Results: a low risk was reported in relation to violence by the patient's familia member with 88.43%, although a small group of students is at medium risk with 11.57%. As for the factors associated with violence, a medium and high risk is shown with 56.2%. Conclusions: nursing interns receive a considerable number of physical, verbal and psychological aggressions at work, which come from relatives of patients and colleagues with higher hierarchies. In the current study, it was possible to observe the presence of blows in physical violence, humiliation and rudeness in psychological violence and in the individual associated factors aggression by the immediate superior boss, by aggressors in altered mental state and aggressors by the state of health of the relatives.Item Factores que causan la automedicación en estudiantes de enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Zambrano Barriga, Francis Paul; Cusme Torres, Nadihezka AmandaIntroduction: self-medication is the use of medications on one's own initiative to alleviate or cure some ailment, this practice may have positive points in favor of the economy and demand of health centers worldwide, however, the negative consequences are more relevant, such as future antibiotic resistance, misdiagnosis or treatment and combinations of drugs that can cause adverse reactions. Objective: To identify the factors that cause self-medication in nursing students of the Technical University of Ambato. Methods: A quantitative research with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design was carried out. A total of 183 nursing students from the fifth, sixth and seventh semesters of the Technical University of Ambato participated in the study. A 23-item questionnaire with a validity of 97,2% and reliability of 86,3% was applied. Results: 97,3% prevalence of low frequency self-medication (80,9%) was reported, where the main reason for self-medication was the consideration of mild symptoms with 82% and the most commonly used drugs were analgesics with 94,5%. Conclusions: There is a high prevalence of self-medication in nursing students, which leads to take informative measures to avoid or decrease this percentage in students and population in the future.Item Conocimientos nutricionales de los estudiantes de enfermería y los hábitos alimenticios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Ninasunta Toapanta, Daisy Tatiana; Chipantiza Córdova, Tannia ElizabethThe habit of eating is related to factors: cultural, social and educational, hence the knowledge about nutrition can influence how we eat and our nutritional status. The objective of the research is to establish the nutritional knowledge and the relationship with the eating habits of nursing students. For this, an observational, cross-sectional study was carried out, stratified with a quantitative approach, obtaining a probabilistic sample of 285 individuals who underwent two surveys, the first related to nutritional knowledge and the second to know their habits regarding food. In the statistical analysis of the knowledge survey, an average level was obtained in nutritional habits in 69.9%, on nutritional status in 52.78%, nutrient content of food in 61.4% and on related health alterations. to food considered 69.8% as medium level. In eating habits, only 25% eat three meals a day, 50% eat breakfast only once a week and 33% eat lunch once a week. 60% consume only 2 servings of fruits and vegetables 3 to 4 times a week. Water consumption is adequate only in 20.4%. 63.4% consume foods rich in sugar and fat 1 to 2 times a week. In conclusion, this shows that 58% of students do not apply the knowledge they have about nutrition in their eating habits because they eat outside the home.Item Actitudes y afrontamiento ante la muerte de los estudiantes de enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Masaquiza Chango, Jessenia Maribel; Guarate Coronado, Yeisy CristinaIntroduction: In health care institutions, the health care team and nursing students, during their hospital internships, witness death, considered as a process that exists in life, therefore, the attitude and coping with this situation is important.Objetive:To determine the attitudes and coping with the death of nursing students. Methods. Quantitative, deductive approach, through a statistical analysis. Similarly, it has a non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational scope. As an instrument, the Collett - Lester Fear of Death Scale and the Bugen Scale of Coping with Death were applied to a sample of 74 nursing interns who had previous experiences related to the death process, either in the environment of their practice or a relative. Results. It was determined that 100% of the study participants have an inadequate coping with death. According to 28% they have an attitude of fear of death; 22% indicate an attitude of acceptance of escape; 20% show an attitude of avoiding death. Finally, 15% have expressed attitudes of acceptance of accuracy and neutral acceptance. Conclusions: Through this study it is possible to determine that nursing students have an inadequate coping with death and an attitude of fear of death, which means that being in contact with the patient at the end of his life affects him emotionally, taking him to feel guilty for not having succeeded in prolonging the patient's life.Item Opinión de los estudiantes universitarios acerca de la donación de órganos(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) González Martínez, Madeline Fernanda; Chipantiza Córdova, Tannia ElizabethOrgan donation is recognized as an act based on solidarity and kindness that consists of extracting an organ totally or partially while alive or after death so that through a transplant it allows the person who requires it to restore their health. The objective of this research is to analyze the opinion of university students about organ donation based on the description of sociodemographic data to later relate them. The study has a quantitative, observational design with a descriptive scope and a cross-sectional cohort. The sample consisted of 177 students to whom the "Attitude towards organ donation" questionnaire was applied with a reliability of 0.75 according to Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Of which 84% are female and the outstanding religion with 80% is Catholic, also 21% state that they fully agree with organ donation. In addition, sociodemographic characteristics do not have a direct influence on the opinion and attitude shown by the participants. In conclusion, there is a positive opinion regarding organ donation, especially to a close relative, and the need for donation information that provides security to potential donors and promotes culture about this process.Item Nivel de conocimientos de RCP básico en estudiantes de enfermería de séptimo semestre(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Gavilánez Pérez, Bryan David; Chipantiza Córdova, Tannia ElizabethDefine the level of knowledge of basic CPR in students of the seventh semester of the nursing career; indicate the degree of wisdom in general definitions, identify the most used methodology for theoretical-practical learning and establish the relationship between the learning method and the level of knowledge of basic CPR. Quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive research. Applied by census to nursing students with a finite population of 92 participants. The instrument is approved by experts and is known as: "Level of know ledge of basic CPR and the methodology used in nursing students", with a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.91. Nursing students in the seventh semester present an intermediate level of knowledge related to basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation represented by 46%. The most used learning methodology was through slides with 48%. The most used learning tool was Zoom with 48%. 70% of the students state that the first obstacle they had was the virtual modality. The most used learning methodology for theoretical knowledge and execution of hospital practices was through slides in virtual mode due to the COVID -19 pandemic and the use of virtual tools that constituted the main obstacle in the knowledge of: CPR definitions, activation and recognition of the emergency service, quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and transfer. The same modality was applied for the execution of practices since only 26% accessed the simulation laboratories.Item Calidad de la práctica formativa en médico-quirúrgico para el desempeño profesional de enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Carrera Yanzapanta, Michelle Anahí; López Pérez, Grace PamelaBackground: In Nursing science, the evolution of instruction performs is an essential pillar to assurance better skillful implementation. Demonstrating the quality of the practices is fundamental to make the particular changes, which aid to develop and encounter the requirements of students and teachers. Objective: To determine the quality of medical-surgical training practice for the professional performance of Nursing. Methods: Quantitative approach, with a descriptive scope and cross-sectional design, an instrument composed by 22 questions that focused six dimensions was used, with a reliability of Cronbach's alpha of 0.99, on the survey directed to the students a simple random sample was used, and for teachers, a non-probabilistic sample was convenience. Results: The quality of the training practices from the perception of the students is good with 83.1% in relation to the accompaniment and help received by teachers. Likewise, teachers consider that the quality of the practices is good, according to the support received by the university, and the fulfillment of their responsibilities. Conclusions: The quality of the training performs within the surgical area is considered decent, both for those who obtain the practice and for those who teach it. Thus, certain factors are contemplated, such as the support of trainers and aid provided by the university.Item Calidad del sueño y factores que lo perturban en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-27) Bayas Condo, Xiomara Nataly; Herrera López, José LuisIntroduction: Sleep deprivation is the situation of sleep incapacity, there are two classifications: chronic and acute. When there is not a correct rest the patient can get drowsiness, fatigue, weight loss and negative problems in cognitive functions. Objective: To analyze the quality of sleep and factors that disturb it in university nursing students, in the period September-December 2022. Methodology: Quantitative-descriptive and cross-sectional approach, so 121 participants were approached using questionnaires (Sleep disturbing factors & Pittsburg sleep quality index) validated with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.75 and 0.81, which guarantees the reliability of the instrument. Results: The mean score of the participants of the Pittsburgh quality index is 7 which tells us that the students need medical attention. Conclusions: Despite not presenting many sleep disturbances they have poor sleep quality, known as poor sleepers.Item Diagnostico enfermero: estrés por sobrecarga académica en los estudiantes de bachillerato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-08) León Panoluisa, Kevin Alexi; Rojas Conde, Luis GeovanyIntroduction: with the scientific and technological progress, the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the academic and social needs, the anxious world and the stress in the students, it is increasingly difficult and complicated to maintain a high performance. cognitive, psychic and optimal mental. Objective: to identify factors related to stress due to academic overload in first, second- and third-years high school students according to current regulations in Ecuador. Method: a methodology with a quantitative approach, with a descriptive scope, was applied. In addition, the Academic Stress Scale was used, which evaluates eight dimensions: Methodological deficiencies of the teaching staff, academic overload of the student, academic performance, interventions in public, exams, lack of value of the contents, participation difficulties. The questionnaire integrates 54 items; the response method integrates a 5-point Likert-type estimation scale. The instrument was applied to 110 students fromthe city of Latacunga in Ecuador. Multivariate statistical techniques such as principal component analysis and descriptive statistics were used to analyze sociodemographic data. Results: the results indicate that the factors related to academic stress are information management, the dimension of academic performance in students, exams and interventions in public, to which the students of the investigated educational institution are subjected. Conclusions: students face various difficulties to execute the demands of the tasks. They are closely relatedto academic and performance stress, including those linked to human subjectivity such as emotions, feelingsand experiences.Item Conocimientos de los estudiantes de la carrera de enfermería sobre el virus del papiloma humano(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-07) Celorio Fonseca, Grace Angelica; Masabanda Poaquiza, Patricia ElisabethThe human papilloma virus is known as one of the most common sexually transmitted infections on a global scale, with the young population being the most exposed, due to the early start of an active sexual life without adequate knowledge about sexualeducation, which in the long or short term can lead to contagion of the famous STIs, for which a field study was carried out with a quantitative, descriptive and cross- sectional design approach with the objective of identifying the knowledge of nursing students about HPV; What is it, the different forms of contagion and the consequences that this infection brings. The research was carried out at the Technical University of Ambato, Ecuador, during the period May 2022 - April 2023. The population consisted of 179 students, divided into two groups, leveling students and first semester of the University, as an instrument a survey where 5 points were addressed I. General knowledge of the Human Papillomavirus in women aged 15 to 35 years; II Knowledge about the spread of human papilloma; III. Knowledge about prevention of human papilloma; IV. Knowledge about the consequences of human papilloma; V. Knowledge about the treatment of human papilloma. For statistical processing, the SPSS 25.00 IBM software was used. Obtaining as evidence that the sample that was obtained in leveling was a frequency of 59, taking into account the students who answered that HPV is a virus, as in the first semester the frequency was 99, those students were discarded due to a margin of error. that gave a different answer to Virus, generating that our total sample is 157 students.
