Item La responsabilidad social corporativa en el sistema de cooperativas de ahorro y crédito(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2023-09) Aldana Tapia, Alexa Tatiana; Ortiz Díaz, Marcelo IvánCorporate Social Responsibility is currently considered within the national context as part of philanthropy and charity, however, this is a misconception. CSR is the way in which companies seek to fulfill their social and environmental role, which implies ethical, transparent, and sustainable behavior in all areas of their activities. One of its main objectives is to change realities and provide well-being to its stakeholders and beneficiaries of different initiatives. The lack of knowledge about the correct implementation and national regulations regarding responsibility has led to inadequate management by the investigated group, along with the need to revalue Social Work as a profession with managerial and administrative fields of action. The general objective of the research is: To determine the compliance with social responsibility in the savings and credit cooperatives of segments 1, 2, and 3 in the province of Cotopaxi, while the three specific objectives are as follows: To identify the process of complying with social responsibility in the cooperative savings and credit system; To determine the sectors and vulnerable groups to which social responsibility applies; To propose an alternative solution to the problem. The research has a qualitative approach applied through a semi-structured interview with a population of four savings and credit cooperatives in the province of Cotopaxi. Two interview scripts were used, consisting of 15 questions each. The first script was directed towards managers, and the second towards those responsible for implementing CSR. The research level is descriptive, using the analytical-synthetic and inductive method. As a research finding, it was determined that only one out of the four investigated savings and credit cooperatives complies with Corporate Social Responsibility, one partially complies, and the remaining two do not comply at all. Therefore, the proposal has been made to create a non-profit foundation linked to the cooperative credit union (CAC) to ensure proper and independent compliance with Social Responsibility.
