Item Acompañamiento parental en la etapa de la adolescencia(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2023-09) Moposita Medina, Ruth Elizabeth; Balseca Basantes, Jeanneth ElizabethAdolescence is a transitional stage in the life cycle of human beings. It’s marked by a series of physical, biological, social and behavioral changes. This fact has led them as a vulnerable group in the Ecuadorian context. Consequently, the role of the family is emphasized as a space for socialization, support, containment and protection against situations that arise during this development process. Currently, there are aspects that interrupt the permanence of parents with their children, which could have negative effects on the welfare of adolescents during this stage. With this interest, the research is developed with the objective of determining the Parental Accompaniment in the stage of adolescence, from the perception of this group. This population was composed of 284 adolescents from 12 to 17 years of age of the Educational Unit "Teresa Flor", by means of a stratified sampling, 142 adolescents of the upper basic cycle and 142 adolescents of the high school cycle were defined. A quantitative methodology was used for the study. Furthermore, an instrument was designed, consisting of 37 items with Likert-type scale responses of frequency and repetition (never, hardly ever, almost always, always). Which was subjected to the validation process by the expert judgment method and its consistency by means of Cronbach's Alpha. It was found that Parental Accompaniment is determined by communication, affection, promotion of autonomy and guidance/supervision. From the adolescents' appreciation the level was determined as high with an inclination to low level. Among the strengths identified is affection, manifested in the interest and emotional well-being of the children. In addition, factors that hinder accompaniment were defined: age, parents' work situation, biological sex of the adolescents and others.
