Item Propuesta de servicios de información accesibles para usuarios con discapacidad visual de la biblioteca de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca.(Universidad Tecnica de Ambato,Magíster en Bibliotecología y Archivología, 2022-10-18) Mena Estrella, Inés del Carmen; Bravo Ramos, María JoséThe purpose of this research work is to provide a proposal for accessible information services for students with visual disabilities within the Rafael María Arízaga Library of the Catholic University of Cuenca, since according to the questionnaires applied, the need to acquire inclusion tools and services for people with this condition. It is important to mention that the population studied were students from the matrix, campuses and extensions where the University provides services in the area, from whom valuable information was obtained to prepare the proposal that appears in this document, on the other hand, the investigation of universities that already provide this inclusive service, thanks to this it was possible to adequately polish it, whose implementation will solve issues of inclusion of society in addition to complying with the evaluation indexes of Higher Education Institutions proposed by the Council of Quality Assurance of Higher Education, where it is mentioned that libraries must be universal places, inclusive of society in general. xvi Currently, the Rafael María Arízaga Library presents various barriers faced by people with visual disabilities and in this case they are not only infrastructure, but equipment, tools and bibliographic material that support them in their studies. The library area, being considered a direct actor in the transmission of information and education of people, must have methodologies and strategies that facilitate students and other users with visual disabilities access to the services they provide without excluding any sector of the University Community, in addition to working with human personnel, trained in issues of inclusion and awareness that help the change that is desired in the Library and in the improvements that are intended to be made for the good of the University and society in general.
