ABSTRACT People with special abilities have been a weak point within society due to their little autonomy, lack of learning and other factors, which is why this project describes various teaching techniques for people with special abilities, focusing on interaction between the educator and the student, for this reason, the research is oriented to the development of a system for stimulating the cognitive senses in people with special abilities, focusing on the visual and auditory sense in particular. The design of the system is based on a microcontroller that will generate sequences of color illumination commanded by a therapist from a control room, in the same way the auditory stimulation system will be commanded by said person, complemented by olfactory stimulation. The project consists of an augmented reality system which contributes to visual and auditory stimulation through projections of 3D objects. Augmented reality runs through a mobile application developed in Unity and Vuforia. The same one that consists of capturing a real image by means of a smartphone, processing it and displayed on a monitor, once the augmented scene is seen, two virtual buttons are displayed on the screen, which help to reproduce sounds characteristic of 3D objects and they also allow you to rotate and animate the object. In this way, the system implemented in the San Anián Foundation in the city of Ambato, allows people with special abilities to perform stimulations for a better development in their daily life.

ABSTRACT This degree project presents a mobile application based on augmented reality, using mobile technology and electronic interaction focused on the tourist controls of the city of Ambato. The intention of this proposal is to publicize the cultural baggage, contained in a city, both in urban and rural areas; through the use of augmented reality technology, developed for any mobile device, in order to facilitate access and management of the application; in addition to supporting a significant dynamic with the user, it will capture their interest and at the same time boost the canton's tourism promotion. The design of this system included the development in three stages, first the tourist places that will be included in augmented reality were defined, proposing the use of three markers that allow each one to visualize their tourist place, developing the basis for future research by expanding places or virtual content as needed, for this we investigated the places with the most tourist attraction in the city of Ambato, for the second stage the use of 3D modeling platforms was required, which allowed us to obtain the virtual objects that make up the visual environment of the augmented reality, in the same way it was collected and developed the multimedia content (audio, images, video) that are part of the visual database projected in each marker, for this the Unity 3D software was implemented, complemented by Vuforia that makes possible the augmented reality and scripts that were necessary for electronic interaction (Unity, Vuforia and Arduino), finally the electronic process was carried out with the use of the Arduino hardware, the HC-05 module, relay modules to drive the different actuators in order to create an interactive environment between the user and the augmented reality prototype, allowing them to control wireless (Bluetooth) all from the interface on your mobile device.
