(2025-02-27) Rugel Garcés, Evelyn Nicole; Campos Moposita, Ángela Priscila; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia
The present research work consists of improving the physical condition of ECU 911 workers, developed in the Integral Security Service ECU 911-Zonal Center Ambato, with a population of 25 participants of both sexes. The objective of this research was to analyze if the therapeutic snacks are efficient to improve the physical condition of the workers, the same was developed 4 times per week for 4 weeks with a duration of 4 hours per session in the Integrated Security System ECU 911. The research was developed with a quasi-experimental study of longitudinal type, collecting the initial and final values of the treatment plan, which includes a population of both sexes with an age of > 35 years. In the evaluation, the 6-minute walk test was used to evaluate physical endurance and thus facilitate the development of high-intensity exercise activity, with a quasi-experimental approach, recording the values in Excel and obtaining the results using the SPSS program. The results of the research show that there was a greater significance in the systolic pressure, heart rate, distance traveled and dyspnea, demonstrating that high intensity exercises help to improve the physical condition of the workers of the ECU 911.

RELACIÓN DE LA INGESTA PROTEICA Y ACTIVIDAD FÍSICA CON SARCOPENIA EN ADULTOS MAYORES DE LA PARROQUIA MULALÓ DE LA CIUDAD DE LATACUNGA
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Nutrición y Dietética, 2024-09-25) Villamarín Avila, María Belén; Cruz Hidalgo, Pablo Andrés
The study of sarcopenia syndrome in the elderly is considered of great importance because it is a disease that has a high prevalence, 50%, in the elderly and affects function, mobility, autonomy, and quality of life, so it is necessary to know how to treat and prevent it. The purpose of this study was to correlate protein intake and physical activity with sarcopenia in the elderly in Mulaló Parish, Latacunga City. This was an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study with a qualitativequantitative approach. Anthropometric data were used to assess nutritional BMI status, while brachial circumference, triceps crease, dynamometry for muscle strength, and time up and go test for physical activity and mobility were used to diagnose sarcopenia, and protein intake was measured using a 24-hour recall. The population consisted of 52 elderly people of both sexes, of whom, according to their nutritional status, 11.5% were underweight, 55.8% had normal nutritional status, 21.3% were overweight and 9.6% were obese, 48.1% had a diagnosis of sarcopenia, 80.8% had poor physical performance and mobility, and 63.5% had low protein intake. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship with the syndrome of sarcopenia with a p value = 0.013, the greater the diminzi.

Mg.
Upon reaching the elderly there is a progressive deterioration of several fundamental pillars that allow independence, both functional and cognitive and improve the quality of life, so there are significant changes in groups that perform and not physical activity. Thus, this research work was established to assess both independence, functional capacity and tone analysis in older adults who perform and don't exercise. This is a bibliographic-documentary, field, exploratory, descriptive and cross-sectional study, which included 40 older adults who met the requirements for the different tests. Once the population to investigate was determined, the tools used for data collection necessary for the development of this research were chosen, the SENIOR FITNESS TEST which is a 6 years long test. This test values flexibility and it also was used to value upper body strength, to train lower endurance and dynamic balance. Moreover a data collection sheet was used: CLÍNICAL HISTORY an assessment test of independence: BARTHEL TEST and test TONE EVALUATIÓN. Giving us as a result that the functional capacity of the elderly has a strict relationship with the amount of physical activity they perform. This happens because the group that does the most physical activity shows better results.
