Inf. Mg.
Emotional intelligence was initially presented as a form of intelligence capable of affecting success in people's lives to a greater extent than intellectual or cognitive skills, with this the IQ, in a sense, took a back seat, to currently give more importance to factors related to the emotional field, such as being able to empathize with others to achieve optimal social relations or to know one's own feelings and use them effectively (Mesa et al., 2015). For its part, the self-concept has been studied by different fields and knowledge, gestated through philosophical processes concerning the questioning Who am I, this is how this turns out to be the notion that an individual possesses in terms of characteristics, adjectives used to define himself (Gaeta & Cavazos, 2017), this construct plays a decisive and primordial role in the development of personality (Esnaola et al., 2008). Consequently, the present research work was developed with the objective of determining whether there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and self-concept in adolescents, a correlational and cross-sectional project, which involved the participation of 108 high school students of the "Patria" fiscal educational unit of the city of Latacunga.xv The BarOn Emotional Intelligence Inventory (I-CE) was used for the emotional intelligence variable, while the Self-Concept Form 5 test was used for self-concept. The methodology applied was based on a quantitative approach, since the information extracted from the instruments for the statistical analysis was compared by means of Spearman's rho test, to obtain the corresponding correlation. The results indicate a slight negative relationship between the intrapersonal dimension of emotional intelligence with academic/work self-concept and social self-concept, likewise between the interpersonal dimension with academic/work self-concept and physical selfconcept, and the general mood dimension with family self-concept, finally there is a statistically significant difference of self-concept in relation to sex, being the physical the most prevalent in men.

Introduction: There are issues that are ignored by health personnel, despite the importance of their approach, such as "the sexual act during pregnancy", there are pregnant women who, due to ignorance, put aside intimacy with their partner, due to fears such as harm the fetus or trigger premature labor. Objective: To know the perception of the pregnant patient about the sexual act, to identify their main fears and provide correct and updated information. Methods: Qualitative, phenomenological, descriptive approach. This produced a semi-structured interview, keeping the principle of confidentiality and respect, applied to pregnant women of any gestational age, from the Huambaló parish. Results: The sexual act during pregnancy for some women is something normal while for others, on the contrary, it is something risky. Therefore, the couple must adapt to the different changes, the existence of little information, received by the health personnel, leads to an approach to sexuality based on beliefs and customs, limiting the enjoyment of full sexuality. Conclusion: The sexual act during pregnancy can lead to a decrease in sexual desire, due to the little information received by health personnel and the influence of beliefs and customs. Sex education must be provided by highly qualified health professionals, with up-to-date information on this subject, capable of efficiently interacting with pregnant women in the prenatal consultation, allowing them to enjoy full sexuality in their pregnant condition.
