Lcdo. Ft., Darío David; Sandoval Velásquez, Gabriela Lcda. Magister.Functional capacity describes the physiological capacity that supports the execution of physical tasks that demand intervention of the cardiorespiratory system. Patients post COVID 19, for this reason the present study sets the objective, to analyze the cardiorespiratory functional capacity in patients aged 30 to 60 years post COVID19. From this perspective, it aims to understand which parameters are affected in cardiorespiratory capacity and thus be able to improve the quality of life of patients through adequate and individualized rehabilitation. Methodology, a quantitative and qualitative approach was applied, as well as the 6-minute walk test that measures cardiorespiratory functional capacity, we worked with a total of 25 patients who attended the Alfredo Noboa Hospital. Results, it was evidenced with a p value 0.001 <0.05, the null hypothesis in favor of the alternative was rejected and it was concluded that there is a significant effect due to commotion on the cardiorespiratory functional capacity of patients 30 to 60 years after COVID 19, that is say at least one of the average distances traveled by patients is different. Keywords. Functional capacity, COVID 19, comorbidity. MgKnee osteoarthritis is one of the most frequent diseases that affects the joint, a product of biomechanical stress causing pain, joint stiffness and decreased functional capacity in an older adult. For this reason, this research project aims to investigate the effectiveness of the application of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation to improve muscle condition in older adults with knee osteoarthritis, based on a prospective quasi-experimental quantitative study with a population of 26 older adults from the daytime gerontological center of the Municipal GAD of the Canton of Colta. The treatment was to apply the PNF technique such as rhythmic initiation, a combination of isotonics, inversion of antagonists, and repetition, the study began with a small survey to identify sociodemographic variables (age, sex, marital status) and evaluated with the WOMAC survey before and after the intervention. This survey helped to show whether or not there was pain, joint stiffness, functional capacity and noticeably checking alterations in them. At the end of the treatment with the PNF exercises, a new assessment was carried out to see whether conditions improved in this population. PNF exercises were very useful in significantly reducing pain, joint stiffness and functional capacity. To verify the effectiveness of PNF exercises, the Wilcoxon test was applied, which resulted in P = 0.00. This means that the null hypothesis is rejected, verifying that the PNF exercises that were carried out in this investigation were effective.Item Influencia del cuidado familiar en la capacidad funcional de adultos mayores de la parroquia Picaihua.(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2021-04-01) Toro Portero, Sofía Elizabeth, Md.; Mayorga Ortiz, William Rubén Dr. EspAt present, a significant increase in the population of the elderly is estimated and according to the United Nations it is estimated that by 2025 worldwide it is in an accelerated process of aging that can reach 11 billion older adults, and at the level In Latin America, this value will quadruple, creating the appropriate importance at the level of primary health care because new challenges will be raised that help maintain functional capacity, this is measured by quality of life because aging is considered as a natural that occurs in life in an accelerated way (1). To analyze this problem it is necessary to mention that there are figures that illustrate the demographic behavior of population aging. According to the United Nations, the calculation is obtained that in 1950 there were around 200 million people 60 years of age or older worldwide. In 1975, this number had increased to 350 million people. It has been shown that, in those over 65 years of age, in 85% of these cases the family is caring, mostly their daughters, three out of four are older 45 years, and the vast majority are unemployed for devoting their time to the care of dependent elderly adults¸ focusing their lives on care obligations, relating their care to a moral duty, on other occasions the relationship with care with sacrifice and renounce Perform other activities. Being the economic part an impediment to be able to hire a person who takes care of the care (2). xv Ecuador also experiences this phenomenon, which is undoubtedly reflected in the Picaihua Parish where this research is carried out, whose general objective is to establish the relationship between the determinants that influence family care to maintain the daily functional capacity of a group of older adults belonging to the Picaihua Parish where it is proposed to carry out an investigation with a qualitative approach related to its design with grounded, observational, descriptive, and crosssectional theory. For this research project, 30 older adults with their respective caregivers were selected through a convenience sampling, from whom information was obtained by applying the Katz scale aimed at the older adult and a semi-structured interview with caregivers after signing an informed consent. This information was transcribed and analyzed according to the Theory based on the ATLAS.ti software. The study is characterized by presenting a connotation based on observable behavior and behavior in which the data obtained helps to determine the state of health of the patient receiving geriatric care in relation to the degree of functional capacity of the geriatric population. located in the rural area of Picaihua parish in the canton Ambato. At present, a significant increase in the population of the elderly is estimated and according to the United Nations it is estimated that by 2025 worldwide it is in an accelerated process of aging that can reach 11 billion older adults, and at the level In Latin America, this value will quadruple, creating the appropriate importance at the level of primary health care because new challenges will be raised that help maintain functional capacity, this is measured by quality of life because aging is considered as a natural that occurs in life in an accelerated way (1). Mg.Upon reaching the elderly there is a progressive deterioration of several fundamental pillars that allow independence, both functional and cognitive and improve the quality of life, so there are significant changes in groups that perform and not physical activity. Thus, this research work was established to assess both independence, functional capacity and tone analysis in older adults who perform and don't exercise. This is a bibliographic-documentary, field, exploratory, descriptive and cross-sectional study, which included 40 older adults who met the requirements for the different tests. Once the population to investigate was determined, the tools used for data collection necessary for the development of this research were chosen, the SENIOR FITNESS TEST which is a 6 years long test. This test values flexibility and it also was used to value upper body strength, to train lower endurance and dynamic balance. Moreover a data collection sheet was used: CLÍNICAL HISTORY an assessment test of independence: BARTHEL TEST and test TONE EVALUATIÓN. Giving us as a result that the functional capacity of the elderly has a strict relationship with the amount of physical activity they perform. This happens because the group that does the most physical activity shows better results.Item “Valoración del rendimiento funcional de la extremidad inferior en mujeres deportistas de la F.D.P.N.”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Terapia Física, 2020-02-01) Cando Andrade, Miguel Angel; Moscoso Córdova, Grace Verónica Lcda. Mg.The inclusion of women in sport it has been a struggle of many years. Nowadays does not exist a sporting event in which they are not included for their great achievements, and their great performance in the competition. Research more than a decade have established that women make a greater physical demand at the time of the competition, which could be lead them to suffer lower limb injuries (knee) specifically of the anterior cruciate ligament. For that reason, is why this research work in order to relate the functional capacity of the lower limb with the possibility of suffering injuries. For this, the advanced sports assessment test of the lower limb (VDAEI) by Christie Powell was used. This research was carried out in the F.D.P.N. with the participation of 33 athletes between 14-30 years, the same that met the inclusion criteria. Among the different disciplines that participated are: box, athletics, judo, wrestling, weights, football and basketball. This research concluded that 27% of athletes passed the VDAEI test, while 73% did not pass. In addition, it could be deduced that a better functional capacity of the lower limb is related to the proper management of training hours per week.Item “Relación de la capacidad funcional de miembros inferiores y el aparecimiento de lesiones en los deportistas de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2019-09-01) Recalde Erazo, Melany Thifany; Córdova Velasco, Luís Ernesto Dr. Esp.Many of the debates are oriented towards knowing the functional capacity of lower members of athletes and that this in turn can predict the suffering of injuries in them and the return to sports. Thus, the present research work was carried out with the purpose of establishing a relationship between the functional capacity of lower limbs and the appearance of injuries in athletes of the Technical University of Ambato. This population was taken due to the existence of a variety of sports such as: crossfit, basketball, soccer, climbing, cycling, calisthenics, among others. This is an observational study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, as well as being transversal, explanatory, descriptive, bibliographic and field, in which 55 athletes from different disciplines that met the inclusion criteria were included. Once the population to be investigated was determined, useful tools were used for the development of this study, such as the Lower Extremity Advanced Sports Assessment (VDAEI) test by Christie Powell, which has been a battery of tests for lower limbs that includes squats. , jumps, careers and balance, a data collection sheet was also used, detailing personal background and informed consent. At the end of the investigation, some important conclusions were established.
