Item ESTADO DE ÁNIMO Y ESTRATEGIAS DE AFRONTAMIENTO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS(2025-03-05) Plasencia Tercero, Melania Mercedes; Velastegui Hernández, Diana Catalina; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología ClínicaMood refers to emotional feelings involved in the modulation of personal responses, while coping strategies are tools used to manage difficult or stressful situations. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between mood and coping strategies in university students. A quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and descriptive correlational scope was used. The Mood Rating Scale (EVEA) and the Coping Strategies Inventory (CSI) were administered to 280 university students, aged 18 to 29 years. The results showed a positive correlation between the variables studied; in the majority of the population, the mood they presented was cheerfulness, and the coping strategies used included desiderative thinking, problem solving, social withdrawal and self-criticism. In addition, it was found that there was no significant d ifference between mood state and sex, indicating that an individual's mood state is independent of biological sex.Item CALIDAD DE SUEÑO Y ESTADO DE ÁNIMO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS(2025-03-05) Armas Valarezo Danea Anabel; Saltos Salazar Lenin FabiánSleep quality refers to a subjective feeling of restfulness, which is necessary for a person to function optimally, while mood is an affective and emotional phenomenon that is composed of both positive and negative emotions that can last for hours or days. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between sleep quality and mood in university students. The sample included 278 students, aged between 18 and 35 years, from the Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering of a university in Ambato. The research adopted a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational approach. To measure the variables, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), adapted by Royuela and Fernández in 1997 in Spain, and the Mood Rating Scale (EVEA) were used to evaluate the emotional state of the participants, which was adapted to Spanish by Pereira and Fernández in 2005. The results showed a moderate positive correlation between sleep quality and sadness-depression, anxiety and anger-hostility; and a low negative correlation with happiness. In the sample, poor sleep quality predominated with 65.5%, while in the mood subscales, happiness stood out. In addition, no significant differences were found in sleep quality according to sex.Item ESTRÉS ACADÉMICO Y ESTADO DE ÁNIMO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS(2025-03-05) Aimara Diaz, Angie Sarahi; Flores Hernández, Verónica Fernanda; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología ClínicaAcademic stress is a common phenomenon present in students when faced with school demands. On the other hand, mood is a prolonged, stable, and less reactive psychological state than emotions. The present study aimed to determine the relationship between academic stress and mood in university students through a non-experimental investigation, with a quantitative approach, descriptive-correlational scope, and cross-sectional design. For this purpose, the Systemic Cognitivist Inventory for the Study of Academic Stress, Second Version of 21 items (SISCO SV-21), and the Mood Assessment Scale (EVEA) were administered to 150 university students aged 18 to 64. The results showed that there is a slight positive correlation between academic stress and certain mood dimensions such as anxiety, hostility, and depression, while academic stress had no correlation with joy; the predominant level of academic stress was moderate; moreover, the prevailing mood in the population was joy. On the other hand, significant differences were observed according to gender, as it was evident that women exhibit higher levels of academic stress compared to men.Item DEPENDENCIA EMOCIONAL Y ESTADO DE ÁNIMO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS(2025-03-05) Arias Acosta, Andrea Estefanía; Mena Freire, Marco Antonio; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología ClínicaEmotional dependence is defined as a pattern of unmet affective needs that people attempt to satisfy inappropriately through interpersonal relationships. The Emotional Dependence Questionnaire (CDE) and the Mood Rating Scale (EVEA) were used to measure the variables. The results showed that 52.7% of the participants presented a mild level of emotional dependence, while 46.7% showed a moderate level. Joy was identified as the predominant mood state in the sample.
