    Currently, the roads in the sector under study show deterioration of the road infrastructure and lack of maintenance in the urban area, seeking to evaluate the current state of the roads as it impacts the mobility and quality of life of the inhabitants of the Pasa parish in the Ambato canton. In this project, georeferenced data collection was carried out using a global positioning system (GPS), complemented by a visual analysis of the road infrastructure failures. Technical sheets were used to collect the necessary information and determine the state of the roads using the pavement condition index (PCI) method, identifying the level of severity of the failures and evaluating the quality of the tread layer. The evaluation was carried out by visual inspection of the tread layer, using georeferencing techniques and the ASTM D6433-03 regulations, the Ecuadorian Road Standard and the article "Pathology of Articulated Pavements" as references to identify and categorize the irregularities. The Pavement Condition Index (PCI) was used to determine the condition of the roads and propose road maintenance strategies. The study hopes to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and provide a database to the GAD Municipality of Ambato in collaboration with the Technical University of Ambato. The focus is on developing a road maintenance plan due to the lack of planning, by collecting data from zone 40. This analysis resulted in a set of failures in two types of pavements, flexible and articulated, presenting three types of severity, this was reflected in the database obtained with the record of the failures found. Additionally, a reference budget was prepared for each road, taking into consideration the necessary items for the maintenance and repair of roads, sidewalks and curbs within the study area.

    The present investigation focused on the evaluation of the state of the roads in the Ambatillo parish, located in Tungurahua, with the objective of identifying deficiencies and proposing solutions for their maintenance. The roads in this area are experiencing rapid deterioration due to adverse weather conditions, which makes it necessary to have an efficient methodology to carry out precise diagnoses and intervention proposals. For this, the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) was used as the main tool, complemented with image analysis, in order to optimize available resources and prolong the useful life of the road infrastructure, reducing costs and avoiding major problems in the future. The development of the thesis was carried out in three main phases. First, a topographic survey was carried out using high-precision technology to obtain accurate terrain data. Subsequently, information was collected and analyzed on the failures found in the 17 roads evaluated, which include flexible and cobblestone pavements. The failures were recorded, and the average PCI was calculated, obtaining the lowest value of 59, which indicates that some roads require urgent maintenance. Among the main failures identified were cracks and damaged paving stones, common problems in the area's infrastructure. Finally, detailed technical specifications and a budget were prepared to carry out the necessary repairs. The results obtained reflect the need for immediate intervention on certain roads in Ambatillo. It is recommended to carry out periodic evaluations to monitor the condition of the roads and apply preventive maintenance to avoid accelerated deterioration. Suggested solutions include sealing cracks and replacing damaged pavers. In addition, the importance of using high quality materials is emphasized, given the impact that climatic conditions have on road infrastructure. In conclusion, the need to implement a continuous maintenance plan is raised to guarantee the safety, durability and functionality of the roads in the Ambatillo parish, which would contribute to the well-being of the community and the reduction of costs in the long term.

    This project focuses on the analysis of the deterioration of the road infrastructure in the urban area of the city of Ambato because it focuses on the evaluation of the factors that cause problems on the roads, such as wear, cracks and ruts, with the objective of identifying critical areas. A georeferenced survey of the roads was carried out using the Global Positioning System (GPS), this for the evaluation of the different types of wearing layers such as flexible, rigid and articulated pavements, as well as sidewalks and curbs following the ASTM D6433 standard. 03, in this way the level of severity of the observed failures was determined, obtaining the conclusion that they exist mostly of medium and low severity. All this was recorded in a detailed database with the type of failure, photo and georeferenced location. With the data obtained previously, the PCI Pavement Condition Index method was used. As a result, a reference budget was developed for the maintenance of the road infrastructure, based on the items obtained for each type of failure found in the different road layers, which will allow the Municipality of Ambato to make precise decisions about the roads evaluated. providing a valuable tool for the maintenance and improvement of road infrastructure in the urban area, contributing to the safety and trust of the community, promoting the economic and social development of the city.

    This project is based on carrying out a study and recognition of existing faults in the flexible, rigid and articulated asphalt layer of roads, sidewalks and curbs in the city of Ambato, Atocha sector, thus improving the safety of vehicular traffic. It began with the collection of information on the existing pathologies, taking into account the type, level of severity and the amount of the affected area; georeferencing with a high-precision GPS, capturing all existing faults in an inventory, the following streets were evaluated: El Sauce, Los Álamos, Av. Los Capulíes, Destacamento Guayzini, El Chaguarquero where it is calculated the sections for the PCI method, allowing to know the current state of the roads; it indicated that the tolerance range goes from 100 meaning that it is in excellent condition and zero that it is totally deteriorated or failed; the type of maintenance that we must opt for said route is indicated. Once the evaluation was completed, the possible repairs for each type of flexible or articulated pavement failure were given, taking criteria from national and foreign studies, nominating the road maintenance table, the respective analysis of unit prices and the items that were reflected for the respective repairs, based on the magazine of the Chamber of Construction CAMICON, Modus Vivendi - Ambato, among others. Finally, a database reflected in software is presented and delivered to the GADMA.

    Within the titling project, there is a need to evaluate the current state of urban roads in the Ambato canton, since its infrastructure is visibly affected due to the existing traffic load in the area. In the first place, a visual evaluation of the roads was carried out in order to determine the different types of faults present in the wearing course. For the analysis of the pathologies in the pavement, we proceeded with the collection of information where the geographical coordinates, the name of the road, the affected area and the level of deterioration were recorded. In addition, the PCI method was used within the most extensive roads to be able to determine the type of maintenance and their status. Within the study area, failures in flexible pavement were identified, where it was evidenced that the predominant failures are longitudinal and transverse cracks and block cracking. Once the data collection was completed, the information was entered into a database through the ArcGIS program, which allows the types of faults to be identified according to their geolocation and respective characteristics.

    This project is based on carrying out a study and recognition of existing faults in the flexible and articulated asphalt layer of roads, sidewalks and curbs in the city of Ambato, Miraflores sector, thus improving the safety of vehicular traffic. It began with the collection of information on the existing pathologies, taking into account the type, level of severity and the amount of the affected area; georeferencing and making use of a high-precision RTK GPS, capturing all the existing faults in an inventory, the following streets were evaluated: Olmedo, Av. Miraflores and Dalias where the sections are calculated, then the PCI is extinguished, they allow to know the current state of the roads; the same method does not allow the tolerance range that goes from 100 to mean that it is in excellent condition and zero that it is totally deteriorated or failed; the type of maintenance that we must opt for said route is indicated. Once the evaluation was completed, the possible repairs for each type of flexible or articulated pavement failure were given, taking criteria from national and foreign studies, nominating the road maintenance table, the respective analysis of unit prices and the items that were reflected for the respective repairs, based on the magazine of the Chamber of Construction CAMICON, Modus Vivendi - Ambato, among others. Finally, a database reflected in a software is presented and delivered to the GADMA.

We started with the survey of existing pathologies, taking into consideration the type, level of severity and the amount of the affected area; georeferencing with a high precision GPS, capturing all existing faults in an inventory, the following streets were evaluated: Encarnación, Av. Indoamérica, Buenos Aires, Punta Del Este, Guantánamo Barranquilla, where the sections are calculated for the PCI method, allowing to know the current state of the roads; the same indicated that the tolerance range ranging from 100 meaning that it is in excellent condition and zero that is totally deteriorated or failed; it indicates the type of maintenance that we should opt for that road. Once the evaluation was completed, we proceeded to give the possible repairs for each type of failure of flexible or articulated pavement, taking criteria from national and foreign studies nominating the table of road maintenance, we also visualized the respective unit price analysis and the items that were embodied for the respective repairs, based on the magazine of the Chamber of construction CAMICON, Modus Vivendi - Ambato, among others. Finally, a software database is presented and delivered to GADMA.

    This project presents the road evaluation of the urban area of Canton Ambato, since the road surface is in constant deterioration due to heavy traffic, which is why information was collected on the current state of the avenues, sidewalks and curbs, to take actions to facilitate the maintenance and repair with this also seeks to optimize economic resources. This project began with the investigation of all the faults that exist in the different types of pavements that were located in the area, then a survey of information was carried out for which each of the streets under study was traveled, for this purpose a manual Global Positioning System (GPS) was used, in addition, technical data sheets were used in which the faults are detailed with their respective information such as the level of severity, Afterwards, using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, the condition of the pavement was calculated and the best method for its conservation was determined, as well as the referential budget for its maintenance or repair, as appropriate. At the end of the road evaluation, a database will be delivered to the Municipal Government of Ambato, so that the information generated can be used for the benefit of society, as a contribution of the Technical University of Ambato.

    This work presents the evaluation of the urban roads of Ambato canton, province of Tungurahua, between Atahualpa Avenue, Julio Jaramillo Laurido Street, Carlos Rubira Infante Street and Luis Anibal Granja Avenue, with the help of an inspection and recognition of the roads to be evaluated and information provided by the GAD Municipalidad de Ambato. By means of a visual inspection, the different pathologies that exist in the flexible, articulated, or rigid pavements were determined, considering the different levels of severity. For the inspection of flexible pavements, the ASTM D6433 standard is used as a reference, while for articulated pavements the scientific article entitled ''Pathology of Articulated Pavements'' is used. For Atahualpa Avenue, Julio Jaramillo Laurido Street and Luis Aníbal Granja Avenue with two lanes each, Sixto María Durán Avenue, Los Chasquis Avenue and Carlos Rubira Infante Street, the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) was calculated. A referential budget was determined for both the roads evaluated visually and for the roads evaluated by the Pavement Condition Index method, and a database was created with the help of a GIS where each anomaly found in the evaluation area is observed. This information will be of great help to the citizens and to the GAD Municipalidad de Ambato, to which the database will be delivered so that it can take the pertinent actions according to what was evaluated.
