Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-02) Pazmiño Viera, María Fernanda; Peñafiel Valla, Lourdes GabrielaThe provinces of Guasaganda and Pucayacu belonging to the La Maná canton, being sectors far from the main axis, have roads that do not ensure correct vehicular circulation due to the lack of information on the properties of the soil. For this reason, the present research work seeks to expand the database of said soils and in this way determine a magnitude between the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test and the Dynamic Cone Penetration (DCP) test, since they are factors that have a direct impact. with the design of flexible pavements. The investigative project consists of 3 phases where it started from a preliminary study of the area, the excavation of 12 pits and the extraction of approximately 50 kilograms, thus executing in situ tests such as the Cone and Sand and DCP in accordance with the stipulated regulations. Following this, the index and mechanical properties were developed through tests carried out in the laboratory, to later comply with phase 2, which corresponded to the determination of different correlations between tests, where a reliability coefficient of 55.68 percent was obtained in the compensation between CBR and DCP are a moderate range of acceptance. These CBR values obtained in compression and in the laboratory made it possible to apply them in two preliminary designs of the flexible pavement where it was verified that, since there was no greater variability in percentages, the pavement design consisted of the same thicknesses, 5 cm for layer. asphalt, 15 cm for base and 20 cm for subbase. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-02) Puma Elvay, Deison Joel; Moya Medina, Dilon GermánThis work was carried out based on a request from the communities of Undina- San Segundo- Misquilli, through the GAD Santa Rosa and the Provincial GAD, to the Technical University of Ambato, for the study of the expansion of the road in the sector, because the conditions of the road under study are not optimal, today it is only with the subgrade layer and demands to have all the amenities such as asphalt, to have the ease of transit and transport the products grown in these areas. The technical project was divided into three phases. The first phase describes the activities carried out in the field, such as road reconnaissance and topographic surveys, followed by a vehicle count to calculate future traffic and soil sampling to determine soil properties. Using the data obtained, the second phase describes the road design activities corresponding to the horizontal and vertical design, the design of the ditch and the calculation of the pavement structure, to conclude with the calculation of the reference budget, i.e. the total cost for the execution of the road. Finally, from all the activities carried out, it was possible to know the future traffic to establish the class of the road, as well as to know the quality of the soil to determine the thickness of the pavement structure and finally, the items to know the general budget of the work were carried out.Item Diseño geométrico de la vía Ex Colonia Velasco Ibarra – Morete Cocha – Santa Mónica en el tramo km 0+000 – 4+000, perteneciente al cantón Carlos Julio Arosemena Tola, provincia de Napo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-03) Cando Allaica, Welington Alfredo; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolThis project was developed in the canton of Carlos Julio Arosemena Tola, in the province of Napo, for the development of this work we approached the relevant authorities to communicate to the inhabitants the activities to be carried out. All the works corresponding to the geometric design of highways were carried out following the specifications established by the current regulations in the country, this being the MOP-2003 standard. The starting point was the traffic study for the determination of the annual average daily traffic, which was carried out manually at a strategic point for a period of 7 days with a duration of 12 hours, yielding the necessary data to obtain the projected future traffic, with which the road class was determined, allowing the development of the calculations for the horizontal and vertical alignment and elements of the cross sections of the road. Subsequently, soil tests were performed to determine its physical and mechanical characteristics, taking soil samples every 500 meters. Once the soil tests were completed, a design CBR was determined with which, using the AASHTO-93 method, the flexible pavement structure was designed, obtaining thicknesses for the base, subbase and asphalt layer. In addition, a topographic survey was carried out with RTK electronic equipment, obtaining georeferenced points to then carry out the geometric design of the road using AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Finally, the referential budget for the project was established by performing the unit price analysis. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-01) Pico Vaca, Gabriela Estefanía; Guevara Robalino, Jorge JavierThe present technical work aims to implement a conservation process in the asphalt layer of the Montalvo-Totoras road, methods were applied with data obtained in the field and in the laboratory, which provided a clearer vision of the current physical characteristics of the road. This project began with the georeferenced survey using the Garmin GPSMAP 64s, obtaining a total of 600 points that were taken every 20 meters, which determined the 4000 meters length of a single section road with two lanes in different directions, the existence of signage and rainwater drainage ditches was found. The 12-hour vehicle count in 15-minute intervals for 7 consecutive days served to calculate the future ADT of 1122 vehicles / day, being within the range of 1000 to 3000 vehicles / day (Class II collector), it indicates that the road is not It will require some expansion within 20 years since the number of lanes currently on the road will be sufficient for the expected traffic. By means of the PCI method based on field visualization, a record of failures was made and with the non-destructive test of the Benkelman Beam the deflections in the track were calculated. It was also verified that the subgrade is in a fair to good state by the CBR test for the wearing course. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2020-10) Casa Yugcha, Jessica Paola; Núñez Aldás, Galo WilfridoThe present technical work has the purpose of implementing a conservation technique in the wearing course of the Tisaleo road in the section 12+800 up to 16+200 in the province of Tungurahua. By means of the collection of data it will be possible to know the present state of the road, the same ones that will be able to be used for future studies of the topic or deepen on topics of maintenance and road evolution that determine actions that cause that the road is in suitable conditions to offer comfort and convenience to the users. For the development of the project, data were collected in the field, which was carried out by means of a georeferenced survey of the section under study, in which an abscissa is considered every 20 meters which are taken with a GPS (satellite receiver), allowing the model to be made digital road. A vehicle traffic study was carried out that consisted of counting vehicles for a period of one week and twelve consecutive hours, which allowed determining the ADTT. Damages and failures on the road were recorded, taking their measurements and affected areas, in addition to data such as track widths for later calculation. Using these data, the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) was calculated and a Benkelman beam deflection test and a CBR soil study were carried out to determine the structural state of the road. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2019) Chango Periche, Erica Targelia; López Arboleda, Alex GustavoThe purpose of this study is to implement a process of conservation of the structure of the rolling layer of the Quero - Salasaca road in the section Km 3 + 600 to Km 6 + 780 of the Province of Tungurahua, to generate this is It is necessary to know certain characteristics of the road, for which field data was collected as a laboratory that will allow us to know the current state of the road and based to these results a maintenance plan will be implemented which will allow the road to maintain appropriate levels of serviceability for the users. In order to determine the current state of the road, the following steps were taken: first the vehicular flow of the road was counted during one week, for twelve hours a day, with this the Annual Average Daily Traffic (TPDA) was calculated. A record of the faults and the level of severity of the same in the tread layer was made by the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method. With the test of the Benkelman beam deflection values were obtained with which the state of the subgrade and the asphalt folder can be known, and the soil study was carried out to determine the (CBR) of the samples and calculate the support of the layers. In addition, a georeferenced survey of the road was carried out to locate each one of the tests carried out and it was reflected in the plans. With the result of each of the tests, they are compared with each other to determine how deep is the existing damage in the road and to establish, if it is necessary or not to implement the maintenance plan.
