Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-08) Chancusig Gavilanes, Erika Fernanda; Guevara Robalino, Jorge JavierCurrently, there is a need among communities to be able to communicate and that the products from the harvests could arrive on time and in good conditions to improve their economy, productivity and quality of life. The project began with a non-experimental transectional research design, supported by the search for data in situ, with a descriptive scope and quantitative approach. A road with a distance of 3,834 km was obtained, its maximum design speed was 60 km/h, with a 7.20 m roadway and 0.60 m ditches on each side of the road, of rural classification type III. The initial pavement structure offered an uneconomical design which was optimized without going beyond the limits, giving as such a thickness of 5 cm for the asphalt concrete, 10 cm of base with type 3 material and 20 cm of subbase with class 3 stone material, for which a total investment of $ 3,684,351,91 was required. Roads are the geographical elements that allow communication between one point and another. From their planning to their construction and commissioning, a series of activities are carried out, some more complex than others. However, the method for their geometric layout and road surface design will always be subject to standards and regulations. As a result, an optimal design for the sector was obtained, which is within the budgeted and planned.Item Diseño geométrico de la vía Ex Colonia Velasco Ibarra – Morete Cocha – Santa Mónica en el tramo km 0+000 – 4+000, perteneciente al cantón Carlos Julio Arosemena Tola, provincia de Napo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-03) Cando Allaica, Welington Alfredo; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolThis project was developed in the canton of Carlos Julio Arosemena Tola, in the province of Napo, for the development of this work we approached the relevant authorities to communicate to the inhabitants the activities to be carried out. All the works corresponding to the geometric design of highways were carried out following the specifications established by the current regulations in the country, this being the MOP-2003 standard. The starting point was the traffic study for the determination of the annual average daily traffic, which was carried out manually at a strategic point for a period of 7 days with a duration of 12 hours, yielding the necessary data to obtain the projected future traffic, with which the road class was determined, allowing the development of the calculations for the horizontal and vertical alignment and elements of the cross sections of the road. Subsequently, soil tests were performed to determine its physical and mechanical characteristics, taking soil samples every 500 meters. Once the soil tests were completed, a design CBR was determined with which, using the AASHTO-93 method, the flexible pavement structure was designed, obtaining thicknesses for the base, subbase and asphalt layer. In addition, a topographic survey was carried out with RTK electronic equipment, obtaining georeferenced points to then carry out the geometric design of the road using AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Finally, the referential budget for the project was established by performing the unit price analysis.
