Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-01) Guarnizo Mejía, Alexis Javier; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolThrough this technical project, the proposal of the conservation plan of the structure of Ambato-Pillaro’s rolling layer in the abscissa’s section from 0+000 km to the 4+000 in Yacupamba area of Izamba parish in Ambato city of Tungurahua’s province was done. Thanks to Dron uses a suitable data register was possible to do in order to get a georeferenced survey for the road’s digitization. Other elements which were helpful for the road’s abscissa were paint and tape measure. During a week from monday to sunday with an interval of 12 hours, vehicle traffic was counted and as a result of this a future TPDA value of 11124 vehicles per day was calculated. For this reason, this road is classified as an AV1 Multilane Highway To do a study of soils, 8 calicatas were done in order to determine the CBR whose average value is 22.7 porcent, this means that the subrassant’s behavior is excellent. Through the use of the Benkelman beam, the deflections presented by the pavement surface were measured every 200 meters. Furthermore, the visual inspection was made along the road section and different faults were found. Thanks to this, the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) was obtained with a high rating score due to it the road only needs routine maintenance. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-04) Chimbo Yumbo, Farit Carlos; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolThe present experimental work and was carried out with the purpose of establishing a method of conservation of the tread layer of the Ambato - Tisaleo road in the section 3 + 200 to 6 + 400 of the province of Tungurahua. A georeferenced survey was carried out every 20 meters of the road under study using a Satellite Receiver (GPS), generating a digitization of the road. To determine the vehicle traffic study, a vehicle count was carried out manually, 7 days a week from 06:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. thus generating future traffic of 10,917 vehicles / day. Through the Benkelman Beam test, the behavior of the pavement structure and the subgrade was known through deflections, establishing that it generates type I deflections. With the PCI test, which establishes that samples should be taken by units in intervals allowing to know the road failures with their respective severity. Four pits were made along the road, by means of which it was possible to determine the optimal moisture content and the maximum dry density through the modified Proctor, the liquid index and the plasticity index with the Limits of Attemberg and the CBR of the ground with its respective test. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-02) Cajas Peralvo, Danny Ismael; Chérrez Gavilanes, Diego SebastiánThe work presents a conservation model for the current state of the structure of the wearing course of the Ambato-Tisaleo road in the Santa Rosa - Juan Benigno Vela sector in the section of the 6+400 to 9+600 abscissa, for which a series of tests and studies were carried out to obtain an objective and realistic evaluation. The georeferenced survey of the section under study was carried out by recording coordinates through a GPS satellite receiver every 20 meters, data that allowed the representation and location of the track in a digital way. The current and future traffic of the road was determined by counting vehicles during one week, exposing the road as a multi-lane AV1 route. A visual inspection was carried out applying the PCI method, reducing to 15 sampling units to be studied, resulting in a PCI of 82.30 percent, qualifying the road as in good condition. Obtaining the deflections of the wearing course with the Benkelman beam, in 17 different points of the track, resolving that the track generates type I deflections, which means that the structure of the pavement and its subgrade present stable conditions. Four open pits were made, to determine the behaviour of its subgrade, mainly its CBR value which was a value of 10,4 which this result determines the soil in a range from fair to good for subgrade. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2020-08) Jácome Mise, Edwin Andrés; Acosta Lozada, Rodrigo IvánThe present technical work proposes the implementation of a road conservation model, because the Ambato-Tisaleo road is a communication link between these two cantons and it does not have a road maintenance plan that serves to postpone the useful life of the pavement structure. For the present work a visual evaluation of the surface of the structure was carried out, this method is known as Pavement Condition Index (PCI), which allows to evaluate the type of failure, classify it according to the level of severity and determine in what state is the surface layer of the flexible pavement. The Benkelman Beam being a non-destructive test, which by means of the deflections given by a team dial, allows to know the behavior of the pavement and the subgrade. The Ambato-Tisaleo route in the section given by abscissa 0 + 000 to abscissa 3 + 200 consists of two types of deflections which are: Type I and Type III. When carrying out 4 open pit wells, 50 kg of soil was extracted to perform the following tests: Atterberg Limits, Granulometry, Modified Proctor Type B and CBR, these tests served to classify the soil type and determine that the soil is in a range Good to Regular for subgrade use. When using the methodology already described above, it was concluded that periodic maintenance should be performed from abscissa 0 + 000 to abscissa 1 + 600, while from abscissa 1 + 600 to abscissa 3 + 200 a routine maintenance should be performed, this is due to the current state of it.Item Implementación del proceso de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía Patate – Píllaro en el tramo de la abscisa 11+400 hasta 15+320 de la provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2020) Ortiz Armendariz, Gina Pamela; López Arboleda, Alex GustavoIn the present experimental work, a plan for the conservation of the structure of the tread layer of the Patate - Píllaro road is proposed in its 3,920 m of study. A georeferenced survey of the road section under study was carried out, in which an abscissa was considered every 20 m, data were recorded with the GPS satellite receiver, obtaining an amount of 590 points with their respective coordinates, data that allowed the digital model to be made of the track. The vehicular traffic that circulates on the road under study was analyzed, analysis that allowed classifying the road in class II and collector because it receives the traffic of the neighborhood roads. Through the application of the PCI methodology, a section with 17 sampling units was evaluated, whose average value of PCI was 77.82, which corresponds to a very good road classification, which implies maintenance on the road surface. The measurement of the deflections was carried out with the Benkelman beam, for which 20 stations were determined every 200 m along the track, resulting in a type I deflection, which means a good structural behavior of the pavement and the subgrade. 4 openwork calicates were made to perform the tests and determine the type of soil. Edge, gravel and sand type soil has a CBR greater than 30 percent which is used as a subbase, while fine sand and silty soil materials are used as a subgrade. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2020) Castro Robalino, Julio David; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolIn the study of the TPDA of the route it is 1613 vehicles / day obtaining with result an order route Type Coreader that is to say connects all the traffic of the minor roads. By means of the calicatas securing there was realized the study of soils, where one verified the properties that there has the base of the structure of the paving, same that it did not expire in accordance with the specifications stipulated by the MTOP, while the foundation soil they are regular to place a paving structure. For the evaluation superficial pavement was applied the method PCI for flexible pavements, the same which is simple, cheap and easy to study, which shows the kind of damage, severity level and density. Also, with the application of the beam Benkelman there was evaluated the structural behavior of the paving, this essay in not destructive in the same one that was obtained like result that the behavior of the subrasante is good. Once the whole process is proposed one of the corrective measures is a reinforcement of the structure of the pavement of the track Patate-Píllaro, stretch that corresponds since to the km 0+000 until km 3+800.Item Implementación del proceso de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía Patate - Píllaro en el tramo km 3+800 al km 7+600 de la provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2020) Segovia Tipantasig, Jaime Eduardo; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolIn the study of the current TPDA of the road is 1240 vehicles / day, obtaining as a result according to the classification of the MTOP 2003 is considered a Class II road. The PCI method allowed us to obtain a value of 70.67 with a rating of good, which indicates that the surface state of the road is in good condition for vehicular traffic in the analyzed section From the deflectometric test of the Benkelman beam, it was determined that the type of deflection corresponds to a Type III, because the characteristic deflection is less than the admissible deflection When comparing the results of the methods used PCI and Beam Benkelman, it was determined that the road should be intervened with a reinforcement in the pavement structure as indicated in the maintenance plan. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2020) Escobar Tanquino, Johanna Margoth; Moya Medina, Dilon GermánInitially a road inventory was made where the length, width of the road, ditches, water passages and sections of the current road were found. In addition, the existence of an initial section from abscissa 0+000 to abscissa 2+100 and a continuous section from abscissa 2+100 to abscissa 4+170 were identified. A georederencing was perdormed in UTM coordinates WGS 84 17 S. It was also necessary to perform a manual vehicle count over a period of one week for twelve hours to determine the equivalent axes to be used for a subsequent reinforcement or pavement design. As information collection methods are soil studies at each kilometer to subsequently perform laboratory tests such as: Granulometry, Atterberg Limits, Compaction and Modified Proctor resulting in the mechanical properties of the materials that make up the pavement structure. For the evaluations of the condition of the pavement, the Benkelman Beam is identified and the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, these tests identify the quality and severity of the faults located in the tread layer in a visual and non-destructive way. Analyzing the results that are on the road is in very good condition and mostly the road that needs periodic maintenance and rehabilitation is deduced according to the current regulations of the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP), American State Highway Association Standard and Transportation (AASHTO), American Materials Testing Association (ASTM) and National Institute for Standardization (INEN).Item Implementación del proceso de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía alterna Patate-Baños en el tramo km 2+350 – km 4+700 de la provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2020) Chicaiza Carchi, Darío Bolívar; Acosta Lozada, Rodrigo IvánIn the present study of the Patate-Baños alternate track at km 2 + 350 to km 4 + 700, the processes to determine the state and conservation of the structure of the rolling layer, which is located in the province of Tungurahua, Cantón Patate. To begin the development of this experimental project, a topographic survey was first carried out which provided the recognition of the section of the road, to obtain detailed information on the same in terms of width, the existence of roadside ditches, lane width and Everything related to the physical part (Topography), then the number of vehicles that travel on the road for a full week for 12 hours per day was counted and thus determine the Annual Daily Average Transit (TPDA). With the topographic survey information, the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) test was continued, in addition to the Benkelman Beam test, the results of these tests allowed to obtain the current road conditions, both surface and structural, and to corroborate the results, the soil tests (CBR) were carried out, which also include the liquid limit and plastic limit tests that helped provide the type of soil and its mechanical characteristics, and finally, establish the types of damage to the track and whether or not it is necessary to implement a maintenance planItem Implementación del proceso de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía Patate-Baños en el tramo km 0+000 – km 2+350 de la provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2019) Romero Aldás, Johnny Gabriel; Acosta Lozada, Rodrigo IvánThe objective of this experimental work is to implement the process of conservation of the structure of the tread layer of the Patate-Baños road in the section km 0 + 000 - km 2 + 350 of the province of Tungurahua, in this way determine a road maintenance plan. To proceed with the preparation of the project, field and laboratory investigations were carried out, in accordance with current regulations such as the American Association of State Roads and Transportation (AASHTO), American Materials Testing Association (ASTM), Ministry of Transport and Works. Public (MTOP) and with bibliographic research, among the activities that were carried out in the present project, the topographic survey of the existing road with precision equipment, the vehicle count (TPDA), the extraction of a pit or open pit was made in each kilometer approximately for these altered soil samples to carry out the respective laboratory tests. The evaluation of the condition of the pavement, by means of the Deflectometry test of the pavement with the use of the Benkelman Beam and the PCI method, by means of which we identify and we locate damages found in the asphalt taking an average of samples. After the development of the aforementioned methods, it was observed that the section of the road is in good condition, so it is indicated that it is necessary to execute a routine and periodic maintenance plan.
