Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2023-02) Llasha Huaraca, Cristhian Orlando; López Arboleda, Jessica PaolaNowadays, companies are facing market challenges, which forces them to identify techniques and production methods that allow them to reduce unproductive times, improving quality and reducing costs. In this sense, the objective of this research is to develop a proposal to improve production in the post-harvest area of the Esmeralda Sun farm by applying lean manufacturing tools. To this end, a qualitative and quantitative research was carried out, with a bibliographic and field design to define the current situation of the company. The results obtained from the initial diagnosis have shown that the production cost is 0.41 dollars for each stem in a time of 31.52 seconds, so the 5's, Poka-Yoke and SMED tools have been selected as the best option to reduce production times and quality in the company through the implementation of appropriate policies in the production process. At the end of the research it has been concluded that lean manufacturing tools have a positive effect, which is to improve productivity by minimizing losses in manufacturing systems and maximizing value creation in the product. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2023-09) Velastegui Llanos, Christian Daniel; Ortiz Sailema, Christian IsmaelThe current research work aims to carry out a study of times and movements in order to suggest proposals to improve the production processes of the most demanded product in the metal-mechanic area of “Ecuatran S.A.” company, placed in Ambato City, which is dedicated to the manufacture and repair of electrical transformers. This research work used a qualitative-quantitative methodological approach. The qualitative approach involved direct observation, which helped to get general information about the company and the production processes. The quantitative approach was used to identify the most demanded product through an ABC analysis. In addition, the study of times and movements helped to determine the standard times and the production capacity for each process and sub-process of manufacturing the 25 kVA substation single-phase transformer. Due to the calculation of the production capacity, the bottlenecks were identified for each main process such as, lids, closing bands, and tanks through the analysis of the workload of each station and the current line balancing efficiency of each process. Subsequently, unnecessary activities were identified and eliminated to balance the workload per station only with essential activities that add value to the production processes. Because of the proposed line balancing, it was possible to obtain an improvement in balance efficiency. Regarding the forming of lids, there was an improvement of 79.06% and in terms of the forming of tanks, there was a 14.75% increase in efficiency and in productivity of 40.6% y 20.94%, respectively. With the proposed balancing of the lines and the calculation of the time required for the painting of lids, closing bands, and tanks, the established production demand could be perfectly covered. Finally, the proposal for implementing the 5'S philosophy is proposed since several problems have been observed regarding order and cleanliness. Therefore, several improvement alternatives have been developed for each phase in order to optimize the work environment and the performance of the productive flow of the company. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2023-03) Guamán Lloacana, Henry Antonio; Naranjo Chiriboga, Israel ErnestoSmall and medium-sized companies currently face constant change due to external and internal factors that hinder the full development of their activities. “Ropa Infantil Ecuatoriana (RIE)” is in this group, which does not have an adequate productive management, in such a way that methodologies focused on the improvement of its facilities and processes are not applied, as well as changes in the organizational culture and personnel commitment, focused on the care and maintenance of work areas, equipment and materials. This research project begins with a study of the current situation of the company through an IPISI analysis that includes five phases, the first an analysis of infrastructure and areas, second a review of processes, the third phase the analysis of inventories, the fourth point involves labor and occupational safety and finally the logistics indicators. Subsequently, the 5'S checklist is applied to verify the level of compliance of the company, showing a level below satisfactory (15/50), then the project is supported with a scientific basis of cases of application of the 5'S in textile sectors using the PRISMA methodology to identify key factors for the success of the implementation of the 5'S, therefore the application plan of the methodology is developed using a manual for the implementation of this tool in the warehouse under study, where the 5 points are detailed, which are: Seiri (classification), Seiton (order), Seiso (cleaning) and finally the stages of Seiketsu (standardization) and Shitsuke (discipline). As a final part, a before and after comparison was made, presenting the benefits achieved with the implementation of the 5'S methodology, in addition to reapplying the checklist, finding an improvement in its level of compliance, in quantitative terms it is 46/50, which means a 62% improvement over the initial situation. The improvement process includes staff training and the development of a database for inventory control.
