Leveraging Python, the Flask framework for the backend, and React for the frontend, alongside the application of machine learning, the system integrates time series forecasting to enhance trend detection and demand prediction. The goal is to optimize sales operations, minimize product waste, and support data-driven decision-making in a small business environment. The system includes an inventory management mechanism, enabling the registration, updating, and tracking of products, including essential details such as quantities, expiration dates, and prices. Additionally, sales processes are streamlined through barcode scanning, automatic calculations, and totals. A key feature is the generation of reports required by the business. The predictive analysis implemented in the system development provides accurate demand forecasts, helping align production with market needs. The system also generates electronic receipts for transactions, improving operational efficiency and user experience. The project was developed using the Extreme Programming methodology, emphasizing iterative design, stakeholder collaboration, and adaptability to changing requirements. The system delivers tangible benefits for business operations, enabling the bakery to achieve greater accuracy in inventory planning, enhance customer satisfaction, and establish a foundation for sustainable growth. This initiative highlights the potential of technology-driven solutions to address real-world challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprisesItem Gestión de inventarios en la empresa distribuidora de confitería y productos de consumo masivo “Dulceza”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-02) Pérez Cando, Alex Paul; Ortiz Sailema, Christian IsmaelThe following document outlines the development of an inventory management model for the company "Dulceza," where the current situation of the logistics area was identified through the use of interviews based on a specialized methodology called IPISI. Various parameters of the company were evaluated, identifying several areas for improvement, including limited storage capacity, lack of action in inventory management, and the absence of established policies and standards to aid in replenishment decision-making. Lastly, the absence of documented manuals detailing the activities and controls necessary for management was noted. All of this was taken into account to develop a model tailored to their needs. The company's inventory was classified using an analytical hierarchical model, considering the criteria of individuals involved in inventory management, allowing for the establishment of robust hierarchies agreed upon by all parties involved. This facilitated adequate stratification to focus measures on products deemed most relevant or in category A. The demand behavior of these items was analyzed to establish a management model based on fixed review periods. Despite a 43.44% increase in demand during the studied period, inventory acquisition costs increased by only 1.02%. This minimal increase is due to higher-cost items experiencing decreased demand, while lower-cost items see increased demand according to forecasts.Item Gestión de inventarios en la empresa Sueldas del Valle(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-02) Vega Ilaquiche, Ana Lucía; Guachimbosa Villalba, Víctor HugoThe primary purpose of this project is to conduct a thorough study on the effective inventory management at Sueldas del Valle, a company specializing in the distribution of hardware products with two warehouses and a main storage facility in the cities of Ambato and Latacunga. The main issue is the lack of effective inventory management in the company, as it lacks precise information about product quantities in stock, procurement needs, and the presence of obsolete items. This leads to problems such as product shortages resulting in customer loss. Additionally, an excess of inventory for certain items is observed, increasing storage costs and the risk of obsolescence. For the research, direct observation was employed to determine the initial situation of the company using the IPISI methodology (Infrastructure, Processes, Inventories, Safety and Health, Indicators). An unstructured interview was conducted, revealing deficiencies in all areas, with a particular focus on the inventory phase. Also, the ABC analysis was conducted to identify products that generate the most utility for the company and the best-selling products over the course of a year. For research purposes, sales data from the year 2022 were utilized to perform calculations for optimal inventory management. These calculations include order quantity, number of orders, and safety stock for the 558 products owned by the company. Additionally, logistics and aging indicators were proposed to ensure proper inventory management, preventing stockouts or obsolete products and improving the supply chain. Finally, the activities of each company process are detailed, and improvements in the infrastructure and safety phase are proposed. Relevant regulations related to the design and maintenance of flooring, loading and unloading docks, installation safety, and worker safety were consulted for this purpose. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial, 2023-09) Perez Cordovilla, Diego Gabriel; Ortiz Sailema, Christian IsmaelThe problem arises from the need to have an inventory management system for stock control of the warehouse according to the requirements of the company, because the warehouse does not have an adequate inventory management which generates problems in its processes of supply and distribution of materials. The study was carried out under a descriptive research, which is designed in three phases. I Diagnose the current state of the warehouse, in which an analysis was made by applying the IPISI methodology.II Conduct a cost study to determine the payments that the company must make to maintain the processes of resupply and distribution of materials in the warehouse.III Formulation of a proposal to improve inventory management. The results obtained in the following work were as follows: with the application of the power of two policies methodology, a decrease in the number of orders to be placed was achieved with the current model of ordering 978 orders and with the proposal only 624 orders should be placed, generating a savings of $1458.53 in addition to a savings in the cost of maintenance of 18.71%, which is equivalent to a decrease of $451.71. With the application of this methodology, a savings of $1910.24 can be generated in a period of one yearItem Gestión de inventarios para mejorar el control interno de materiales en la empresa “Saibe Construcciones”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2022-09) Salinas Oñate, Christian Emmanuel; Naranjo Chiriboga, Israel ErnestoAn inventory management model application makes it possible to maintain materials and equipment available in the right place and at the right time, which is essential to maximize the expected profits of any company, much more so for a construction company that works continuously with large quantities of materials, so SAIBE CONSTRUCCIONES has considered appropriate the application of an inventory management model that reduces the costs inherent to them. For model aplication, the last project carried out in the company, which was the construction of a house, was selected as the basis. Initially, used materials were classified by applying a Pareto diagram (also called ABC) that divides them into 3 categories that allow identifying the ones that represent the greatest amount in economic terms, so that they are the objective of the study. In A category, the economic order quantity (EOQ) model was applied, which allowed determining the number of orders to be placed and the quantity that these should have to minimize storage and order costs. For B and C categories, it was suggested to only place one order with all needed materials at the start of the project or the stage of construction where they will be used; as a result, when comparing total inventory costs for traditional method and using proposed models, an overall savings of $567,71, equal 12,47% of traditional cost, was obtained, demonstrating effectiveness of the proposed methods. The proposal also includes the use of a maritime container as a temporary warehouse for materials that can be reused in each of the company's projects. By comparing these costs to those of the current method, which entails building these storage facilities for each project, an annual savings of $1292,16 was calculated. Proposal will make it possible to ensure effective resources management, which will enable the company to focus on the best possible development of its work while maintaining customers satisfaction and bringing it one step closer to establishing itself as one of the nation's most reliable and efficient builders.Item Indicadores clave de desarrollo enfocados al control de inventarios en la industria textil “CM Original”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2021-07) Moya Carranza, Paul Alejandro; Rosero Mantilla, César AníbalInventories is one of the most important factors that all small and medium textile enterprises must deal with, for this several researchers have developed control methodologies that allow to manage inventory efficiently. However, only few research has focused on the evaluation of the performance of inventory management, because there are several control methodologies applicable in SME's and depending on the characteristics of the company, some may work better than others. In this research project, a model of key development indicators for the evaluation of the inventory management performance of "CM Original", a textile company dedicated to the manufacture of leisure footwear, is carried out. For the structuring of this model, a bibliographic research was carried out using the Fink methodology, obtaining 16 indicators applicable to inventory management of which 7 were selected by weighting factors considering the characteristics and needs of the company, these were applied for the evaluation of the company's management in the last year. The results obtained from the KPI's indicate that the company's inventory management is deficient in all the areas evaluated, since no indicator has satisfactory values according to the acceptable ranges of each one; although thanks to this evaluation model the company knows that it needs to improve its management and has a record that will allow it to verify its evolution in the case of any improvement action being implemented.
