Item Modelo de planificación de la producción y capacidad para la fabricación de cuero en la empresa Promepell S.A.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-08) Lara Miranda, Lourdes Amanda; Naranjo Chiriboga, Israel ErnestoPromepell S.A., is facing production delays due to inadequate planning in its operational activities, resulting in the postponement of deliveries. The project aims to develop a model for production and capacity planning for the leather manufacturing processes in the footwear and upholstery production lines, enabling the company to fulfill customer orders according to established delivery dates. The methodology applied involved using Excel software for various calculations. Additionally, a time study was conducted as a basis for subsequent calculations, considering the products that the company primarily manufactures based on leather type and demand. A capacity analysis was also performed, focusing on necessary resources and demand forecasts. This analysis identified the bottleneck process that restricts production. A master production schedule was developed, indicating the required weekly production, and an approximate capacity plan was created to identify potential underloads or overloads in the processes, considering the available resources to meet future orders. With the production and capacity planning model, the company can determine daily production quantities, the processes to be carried out at each work center, the production hours, and the number of workers required for each process. This ensures better productivity through effective management and scheduling.Item Diseño de distribución de planta en las nuevas instalaciones de la Empresa Metalmecánica Solutions(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-02) Padilla Plazarte, Luis Enrique; Rosero Mantilla, Cesar AníbalThis present research focuses on proposing an appropriate layout for the new facilities of the metal-mechanical company SOLUTIONS, starting with a detailed analysis of its current situation by identifying the processes and products it offers, as well as evaluating production capacity and identifying productive areas to focus the research on the object of study related to the manufacturing of conveyor belts. Typology of plant layout was analyzed, considering the sequence of the process and operational efficiency in each department. The determination of required spaces is carried out by considering legal regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of workers in the company. Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) methodology was applied to evaluate layout alternatives. In this, two scenarios are compared, weighing variables such as the proximity of related processes and the reduction of unnecessary movements. Choice of the optimal alternative is supported by the analysis of load-distance, in which criteria such as travel distance and material handling cost, which directly influence the productivity of the company, are studied. This selected alternative was studied as optimal through a detailed cost analysis covering the implementation of the winning proposal using financial indicators (NPV, IRR, ROI, and TRI) that facilitate determining the economic viability of the project and the time needed to recover the investment made. This allows the owner to make a future decision based on the favorable outcomes of these indicators.Item Estudio de tiempos y de movimientos para el mejoramiento del proceso de producción en la empresa “Cndetalles y Colores Lavandería”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2023-09) Gavilánes Guamán, Karla Gabriela; Guachimbosa Villalba, Víctor HugoIn this research project, first of all, a general description of the company is made, continuing with the selection of the service with the best offer by means of an ABC analysis based on the production history of the production department; in addition, the state of the current situation of the production process is presented by means of work tools such as: process maps, work study diagrams and layour of the company that allow understanding the production flow and the areas susceptible to improvement. The methodology for the study of times and movements used starts with the selection of the case study, followed by the calculation of the number of observations based on the General Electric criteria, continuing with the evaluation of the work rhythm with the Westinghouse system and the allocation of supplements according to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), to conclude with the calculation of standard time. Subsequently, we proceed to calculate the production capacity in order to identify the bottleneck, which restricts the production flow, establishing the stone process as one of the main processes to be improved for stone services with 3 handicrafts. The improvement proposal as a first point contemplates determining the standard times that will facilitate production planning and as a second point the elaboration of a procedures manual with the aim of instructing the operators of the appropriate working method for the standardisation of their activities.Item Estudio de tiempos y movimientos para mejorar la productividad en el área de producción de floreros en la empresa “Master Fibra”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2022-09) Lizano Guzmán, Génesis Nicole; Ortiz Guerrero, Daysi MargaritaThe purpose of this research project is to improve the productivity of the company MASTER FIBRA through the development of a study of times and movements in the production area of vases; the application of this tool allows improving the production line through the standardization of processes and reduction of unproductive times, thus increasing the capacity and minimizing production costs. In the first instance, an initial situation analysis was carried out by collecting information on the production processes carried out in the different sheds that the company owns, focusing mainly on the vase production areas, which is the subject of the study. Since the company has 44 models of flower pots, an ABC analysis was applied in order to analyze the manufacturing process of the model with the highest demand. Subsequently, all the information on the Milan flower pot, known as the star product, was documented through flow charts, characterization sheets, process, analytical and route diagrams, and the construction of the layout. Through the application of the time and motion study, the normal and standard time and the daily capacity for each of the processes were calculated. From this, the bottleneck and problems in the production line were identified, such as the inadequate distribution in its facilities, for which the SLP (Systematic Plant Layout Planning) methodology was proposed in order to reduce the distances between areas, also eliminating unnecessary movements. With the proposal, a 1,49% improvement was obtained with respect to the current one, reducing the standard time from 429,82 min to 423,82 min.
