(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2023-09) Rivera Lagua, Willian Fabricio; Morales Perrazo, Luis Alberto
One of the problems in the manufacture of food supplements for farm animals is the non-standardisation of production processes that generates effects such as: defective products, reprocesses, unproductive activities, bottleneck, among others; therefore, the objective of the research is to develop the standardization and optimization of production processes in the company "NUTRISALMINSA S.A.". The study was carried out by means of descriptive research, comprising three stages: I. Analysis of the processes, which identified the current situation of the plant by means of flow diagrams, characterization and time study. II. Determination of the level of deficiency by means of key production indicators. III. Simulation of the manufacturing processes to improve productivity. The results of the research showed that there are activities that do not add value and that restrict production by 12.88%; this situation leads to a bottleneck in the bagging area, with a time of 1862.27 seconds which corresponds to a decrease in production, the level of deficiency in the study level corresponds to 15.90%, in addition, the effectiveness in the study period was 97.79%, while its efficiency was 84.10%, highlighting the lack of optimization of resources and production processes. The simulation in FlexSim forecasts an improvement of 15 units per day, with the optimized times and standardized activities in the production in a schedule of 8 working hours, which is equivalent to 1215 US dollars. The standardization and optimization of the production processes is also visualized with the modification or elimination of activities that do not add value to the process. It is concluded that the company Nutrisalminsa S.A. has improvement opportunities to increase its productivity through standardization and optimization of its production processes, which can have an impact on additional economic income and the reduction of its production deficiency.

This research project arises with the need to improve the process of making yogurt, the general objective is based in realize a study of times and movements for the optimization of the production process of the product with the highest demand in the company "Pasteurizadora Nutrición y Vida S.A", the ABC methodology was used to determine the star product. The product with the highest demand in the production line is the yogurt in bottle of 4-liter Strawberry flavor, with the time study it was identified that the process that slows down the production line is lactic fermentation, which limits the company's production capacity to 99 units per day; for the movement study, the bimanual diagram was applied, which reduced a total of 11 non-efficient movements. In addition, an improvement proposal was made which deals with a plant redistribution applying the SLP method, also the number of machines needed for each area was calculated in order to increase production capacity, the FlexSim tool was used to simulate the current and proposed situation. Finally, the results of the plant redistribution show a reduction from 559.48 to 342.75 meters was obtained, decreasing 38.75% in distance traveled, also an improvement of 0.60% was obtained in process time from 1544.47 to 1535.87 minutes. 87 minutes, subsequently it was determined that one more machine is needed in the fermentation area, by simulating these results a production of 3500 units/month was obtained, comparing the current production vs. the improvement represents an increase of 1280 units which corresponds to an increase of 57.66% in production and a growth in monetary value equivalent to $3456.00.

The production processes related to the manufacture of fabrics are closely linked to the use of machinery, labor, resources and inputs to produce the final product. However, the empirical way in which Textiles M&B has grown, has caused that there is no standard time of operations and much less documented procedures for operators to know how to perform their activities, causing unnecessary waiting, transportation and movements in the production line of Kiana fabric. The purpose of this research is to improve the productivity levels of Kiana fabric. The study includes the analysis of the stages of the production process, with respect to the evaluation of the work rhythm through the Westinghouse system, the assignment of supplements according to the criteria of the International Labor Organization, t he measurement or timing of the activities, to determine the standard time of the processes and based on that to apply improvements that allow to increase the production of Kiana fabric based on the elimination of unnecessary movements, transports and wait s in the production process. The results show that by applying the 5S and SMED methodologies, the production process is improved by 3.04%. The new work methods are embodied in a procedures manual to standardize operations. Finally, it is concluded that productivity levels increase by 44.62% with the proposals established to improve the production process.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2023-03) Córdova Montero, Danny Javier; Gavidia García, José Luis
The activities that do not generate value, cause waste that may be present in the processes and that affect productivity, therefore, this research project focuses on the development of an analysis of the Lean Manufacturing methodology in the process of slaughtering pigs of the Camal Refrigerófico Municipal de Ambato (CFMA), since, the company does not have tools that allow it to diagnose, reduce or eliminate unproductive activities. The research has a quantitative approach, based on the calculation of numerical variables with the application of diagnostic, operational and monitoring tools of the Lean Manufacturing methodology. An initial diagnosis of the process was made, with the collection of information, using Industrial Engineering tools such as: process diagram and analytical course, describing activities, machines and inputs. A time study was developed to identify abnormalities of each process, by determining the number of samples by General Electric and timing of the activities with the back to zero method, to design a current VSM as a Lean Manufacturing diagnostic tool identifying: the activities, the times that add value and not to the process Waste was determined as: censing movements, incorrect waiting and processes, in addition, the potential causes of waste, to propose solutions with the operational tools, proposed as: 5S for the order and cleanliness of the areas, eliminating activities that do not add value to the process, and standardization to propose the reduction of incorrect processes based on work instructions and simulate them in the FlexSim 2019 program. It is concluded that the process has 30.35% of activities that do not add value to the process and affect productivity. Therefore, the process does not meet the company's specifications and improvement actions are required.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2023-03) Játiva Amores, José Paúl; Naranjo Chiriboga, Israel Ernesto
The purpose of this research is to present a proposal for the physical redistribution of the facilities within the footwear company GUSMAR, this proposal allows to improve the productivity of the plant, removing useless distances and optimizing the available space. For the development of the project, three fundamental stages were considered: in the first stage, information was gathered on the current conditions of the production process; in the second stage, tools and methodologies for the distribution of facilities were used; and finally, the model of the current distribution and the proposed distribution were simulated using FlexSim software, in order to compare and select the alternative that would increase productivity. To generate the redistribution alternatives, the systematic distribution planning (SLP) method was used, then two alternatives were proposed and evaluated by means of the load-distance analysis, where it was determined that alternative 2 is optimal, since it reduces the distance traveled by the material by 26.75%, equivalent to 91,014.80 meters. And with the objective of reducing the longest duration times in the processes of trimming and assembly (bottleneck) where a flexible distribution in those workstations was carried out The distribution proposal was validated by analyzing the indicators obtained in the FlexSim software simulation of the entire footwear manufacturing line, where it was shown that this proposal generates an increase in productivity of 0.06%, or the same from 0.63 to 0.67 pairs/hour of work, or the increase from 625 pairs of shoes to 667, without generating an additional cost by redistributing the facilities of the GUSMAR footwear production plant.
