    Large volumes of data invariably end up being a big data problem. Big data is defined as data that has a large volume and size over which a traditional IT (Information Technology) system cannot be used. To mitigate this problem, tools such as distributed file systems have been developed. These tools are usually implemented in cloud computing architectures. However, the use of cloud architecture is limited by their variable costs. In addition, public institutions such as the Universidad Técnica de Ambato store their data in physical structures located in the immediate vicinity of the institution. For this reason, the institution seeks to acquire physical architecture, causing that the budget cannot meet the costs of cloud architecture providers. The purpose of this project is the implementation of a distributed file system in traditional architectures of a laboratory of the Faculty of Electronic and Industrial Systems Engineering of the Technical University of Ambato. Providing a tool to manage big data. For the implementation of the system, HDFS has been used as a distributed file system. For the cluster administration Docker has been used to deploy Arenadata Enterprise Data Platform as cluster administrator. The methodology used was an adaptation of ITILv3 adjusted to the guidelines of the institution. Finally, a technical interview based on the IEEE std 830-1998 standard was used for the information gathering.

    Implantación de una aplicación web progresiva para la administración post evento de capacitación del personal de la Empresa Eléctrica de Ambato Regional Centro Norte S.A.

    This thesis project focuses on the implementation of a web application to improve the management and control of attendance at training events at “Empresa Eléctrica de Ambato Regional Centro Norte S.A.” Currently, these processes are performed manually, which is prone to errors and excessive time consumption. The automation of these processes seeks to increase efficiency and accuracy, providing a more fluid and modern solution. Through interviews with the company's personnel, specific needs and requirements were identified in order to develop an application that meets these demands. The methodology used for software development was Extreme Programming (XP), allowing constant communication and continuous feedback with the client, ensuring efficient development and frequent deliveries of value. The Flutter framework was used to create a progressive web application, combining modern technologies for the user interface. For the backend development, Spring Boot was used as the Java tool and Oracle as the database, ensuring the robustness and scalability of the system. In addition, to evaluate the effectiveness of the application, usability and acceptance tests were carried out, applying the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) through surveys. The results indicate that users perceive the application as useful and easy to use, confirming its effectiveness in improving attendance control, event evaluation and certificate issuance. In summary, the implementation of this web application not only optimizes the company's internal processes, but also offers a more efficient and comfortable experience for participants, establishing a digitalization model that can be replicated in other organizations.

    Aplicación móvil basada en android, para facilitar la comunicación de personas con discapacidad visual

    This project focuses on addressing people's needs in terms of communication via mobile devices. For this purpose, data collection was carried out to identify the needs and difficulties they face in their daily communication. The main objective was to develop an application that would not only facilitate their communication skills, but also give them the opportunity to actively participate in chat conversations with other users. The application was built using Java on the Android platform, and voice commands were implemented in order to allow users to control the receiving and sending of text messages through spoken instructions. This approach not only sought to improve accessibility, but also to make the application more intuitive and easier to use for those with visual impairments. In order to carry out the development efficiently and effectively, the Mobile D methodology was adopted, ensuring an agile process that fulfilled each of its phases. The primary focus of this research is to provide a specific solution for people with visual impairments. The application was designed with the premise that users would be able to use it autonomously, without relying on additional applications or external virtual assistants.

    Aplicación móvil de geolocalización integrada con Silver ERP para gestión de vendedores y cálculo de rutas óptimas en la entrega de pedidos a clientes en la empresa AMNUFARVET

    The management of product delivery service through transportation and logistics often presents problems that generate delays, involving damage in the areas of costs, time and resource optimization, since there is a manual process in which human errors are involved, which is why this research work entitled "Geolocation Mobile Application integrated with Silver ERP for vendor management and calculation of optimal routes in the delivery of orders to customers in the company AMNufarvet. "The application is developed using the software tool for Android devices with Oracle 10g database and Forms Reports for Silver ERP, which aims to reduce the time of arrival of the vendors with respect to the different points of the visit to customers working under standards that mentions the Kanban methodology. The application has been developed with implementations such as API's and web service, to achieve the overall objective of this research that is related to the geolocation process, providing all the facilities for a comprehensive mobilization in the shortest possible time with a route planning. This mobile application will be specifically used by the company's salespeople for visits previously scheduled from Silver ERP, the locations and routes are displayed in real time using Google Maps, generating in the company AMNufarvet lean management strategies in the optimization of logistics processes and reduction of operating costs with customer centric strategies updated in improving the customer visit experience.

    The Ambato Electric Company is an entity recognized locally for its services provided, it is a Company with a large number of employees who carried out their activities in various departments both in the headquarters and in the branches, for this reason it implemented in all its branches a system to carry out the registration and attendance control, which obtained information from its workers using their fingerprint, but external situations (Currently COVID-19) demand interest at the level of the business community to safeguard the health of each of the employees, for the Institution opts for the implementation of new measures in the attendance register, for which the company acquires new technological devices that allow facial recognition and temperature measurement of the people who enter the facilities. For this reason, in thus research work, the development of an automated system for the management and control of attendance is proposed using the characteristics already mentioned for which the requirement are taken through interviews with the personnel of the Department of Industrial Relations (DRI), it is modeled new processes to implement and through the use of technologies to adapt the native language of the Software Development Kit (SDK) Hikvision to the language used by the Company, the system is developed under the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology with the use of WebLogic, JAVA Standard Edition (SE), Web Application Archive (WAR), Angular and Oracle database, among other complementary development technologies

    Análisis de la plataforma GWT para desarrollo de aplicaciones de geo-referenciación para personas con discapacidad visual

    Se realizó en análisis de la plataforma GWT para el desarrollo de una aplicación web que permite la localización de personas con discapacidad visual. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se realizó el estudio teórico de conceptos para entender el funcionamiento del framework GWT, se estudió todo sobre el lenguaje de desarrollo JAVA como: definiciones y características, la máquina virtual de java (JVM), el JRE, entre otros aspectos. Además se utilizó el IDE Eclipse y la plataforma GWT, en donde se desarrolló la aplicación web con el objetivo de facilitar a entrenadores y familiares a localizar a las personas con discapacidad visual que forman parte de su entorno. Para la realización de la investigación se realizó encuestas a los entrenadores y familiares de las personas con discapacidad, así como también entrevistas a las personas que poseen la discapacidad, dando lugar al análisis de los procesos, para concluir con el desarrollo de la aplicación web, cumpliendo los requerimientos. Para el desarrollo se eligió Eclipse como el IDE más adecuado porque permite el desarrollo de la aplicación web usando la plataforma GWT, esta plataforma es de gran ayuda para los desarrolladores de JAVA, porque permite programar solo en este lenguaje sin preocuparse del código HTML y JavaScript reduciendo el tiempo de desarrollo.
