Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-08) López Zurita, Washington Leandro; Tigre Ortega, Franklin GeovannyThis research work was carried out at Milplast Cia. Ltda., a company dedicated to the production of shoe soles that faced problems affecting its productivity, such as non-standardized processes, inefficient management of information and inventories, and non-optimized production times. The lack of mixing recipes and machine configuration parameters caused quality variability and downtime, and inadequate waste management and performance indicators hindered continuous improvement. The objective was to develop a process management model to improve Milplast's productivity, integrating circular economy principles. An ABC stratification of products was carried out to identify the most relevant products, the documentation of the main processes (milling, fine-tuning, injection, packaging), the creation of detailed sheets for each process. A time study was also carried out and waste was characterized for final disposal. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used to obtain a comprehensive understanding. Interviews and observations were conducted to document the processes, and data analysis was performed to understand the company's performance. In addition, a literature review on process management, field research with visits and on-floor observation of the process were conducted. The results were consolidated into a process manual with clear objectives, precise definitions and detailed flow charts. Improvements such as the implementation of a Kardex system, recipe standardization and machine configuration were proposed, which could increase production by 5% and facilitate Milplast's sustainable growth. The objective was to analyze a proposal for a plant redistribution at the textile company EDY SÁNCHEZ SPORT based on data collection from the production process, starting from the current situation of the plant, resulting in: the company has three major processes distributed throughout the plant with a total of 30 activities, taking a time of 1961.56 s. and a distance of 113.77 m. to produce the highest demand product (Physical Education Hood of La Inmaculada). By using the SLP methodology, the appropriate sequence of activities was determined, and by employing the Guerchet method, it was determined that the company requires 195.36 m^2 for the placement of all objects in the plant. Through the proposal of two alternatives, it is suggested that sequence B allows for greater optimization with a total displacement of 73.40 m. and a working time of 1818.74 s., resulting in the production of 49 extra garments per month of work. Finally, through the analysis of load - distance, it was obtained that the company can reduce its monthly route from 7053.74 m. to a total of 4937.90 m.Item Estudio de tiempos y movimientos en el área de producción de juguetes caninos a base de carnaza de la empresa Soguar S.A.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-02) Toapanta Guangasi, Danny Javier; Ortiz Sailema, Christian IsmaelThe companies involved in the production of dog bones made from rawhide face critical challenges associated with excessive waste generation in their processes. Therefore, this research project has conducted a time and motion study in the rawhide-based canine toy production area of SOGUAR S.A. with the aim of improving production processes. The study began with the collection of information about the current situation of the company through direct observation and interviews with the general manager and production area operators. After an initial diagnosis of the company, an ABC analysis was conducted using the 2022 sales history to identify the product with the highest demand. Products with item numbers 6153 and 6910, were selected as the primary focus of the study, representing 32.45% of accumulated revenue. The production line consists of 19 processes, for which analytical flowcharts were created to provide a detailed analysis of the item's path. Time measurements were taken using the zero-return method. Subsequently, the standard time was calculated, resulting in 89.09 seconds/unit for item 6153 and 89.43 seconds/unit for item 6910. Production capacity was then calculated for each process, determining the bottleneck in the packing process. As a proposed improvement, the addition of an employee to the packing process activities is suggested. A comparative analysis for one day, one week, and one month was conducted, achieving a 50% improvement in capacity by employing two operators, thereby mitigating the bottleneck. Through the proposed methodology, 17 non-value-adding activities were identified in the packing area for both study products. Implementing the improvement proposal optimized the production process by 18.18% for item 6153 and 8.77% for item 6910. Finally, the standardization of the work method was established through work instructions. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2022-09) Quisintuña Toalombo, Angel Klever; Lema Chicaiza, Freddy RobertoMostly, the companies don´t have or don´t work with the Lean Manufacturing philosophy tools, at the same time, the companies don’t think about the possibility of implementing the Six Sigma methodology, as a result is that the organizations are affected by representative economic losses caused by waste and delays of times. For this reason, the purpose of this research is to develop a Lean Six Sigma study in the sole’s injection process of the company Beltrán Inyecciones. Because of the variability that exists in the productive processes of a company, in the present project, the DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) was used for the respective analysis of the processes, based on a qualitativequantitative approach, whereby, is carried out of data collection concerning the cycle times used for mold changes, main problem, essentially oriented in a non-probabilistic sampling for the meticulous study of the performance of the process through the help of the Excel and Minitab softwares. Lastly, an improvement proposal is prposed using the Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) system and the validation of the proposal is clarified through the simulation of the process in FlexSim 2019. The results obtained indicate that the drawback with the greatest impact falls on the delays in executing mold changes, generally it´s caused by the lack of organization on the mold shelves and by not having manuals of procedures, therefore, the data reflects low Sigma levels with an average value of 3.39, thereby, the process is not adequate as it does not meet established specifications. Finally, it is defined, with the help of the implementation of the Preparation Time Reduction system, of 39.38% reduction in the time required to change molds is achieved, which generates an estimated annual benefit of $17,328.00 dollars. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2022-02) Ocaña Ramos, Franklin Sebastián; Naranjo Chiriboga, IsraelThis invest igat ion Project’s main goal is the development of a productivit y improvement plan, by using Lean Manufacturing tools, starting with the initial diagnosis of the company which reveals problems in the packing and storing área, including considerable time spent preparing the machine and non-programmed stops that produce problems in the process, lack of order and standarization of processes, resulting in the low productivity shown and`the bad management of the available resources. A study based on documental research was conducted which allowed to determine what kind of waste were the problems attributed to; also a Preto diagram was performed to find out which of them were the most relevant in the company. Having found the wait ing, transportation and defect wastes, 5’s philosophy and SMED were used to reduce the activit ies that don’t generate value. Likewise there was a field investigation, verifying in person the problems in the packing process, including the misuse of the machinery, so that it was decided to use TPM to find failures or damages through the 6 losses, showing a bad maintenance and minor stops in the process and eliminating them with preventive maintenance and standardization to improve the machine performance and be able to increase its available time, thus boosting its production capacity form 16 bags/hour to 17.94 bags/hour. Also, applied investigation was used to confirm the time reduction of 20% in the FlexSim simulation, ths increasing productivity from 3.08 to 3.15 for the line 1 flagship product. Currently, the company packs 60 500gr bags of quinoa, that represents an income of approximately $15.342,60 weekly, with the proposed study, this could increase productivity in 0.07, which means the packing activity increases to 81 bagsa week, representing an income of about $20.716,60 weekly. In other words, an increase of $5.370,00 a week.
