    In the field of information security, it is important to have efficient backup systems to protect relevant company information. “GALA IMPORTACIONES is currently facing challenges regarding the security of its information due to system failures and the lack of a backup system. Thus, in order to improve this aspect, the need to implement a backup server based on Open Source technology was identified, which will improve passive security and optimize the company's data management. Thus, this work shows the selection of the best Open Source tool according to the requirements of the company in terms of optimizing the use of resources, reducing backup times and improving the quality of information protection; and its consequent implementation and analysis of the tests performed. In addition, it was determined that the implementation of a passive security system, along with data integrity verification mechanisms, is essential to ensure that the company's critical information remains protected and accessible at all times. This system not only guarantees data availability in the event of a restoration but also allows for the combination of backup strategies, such as full and incremental backups, tailored to the specific needs of each department. In this way, a balance is achieved between resource efficiency and robust information protection, ensuring that backup processes are both agile and reliable. These results are expected to help “GALA IMPORTACIONES” improve its level of passive security, reducing the risk of information loss, minimizing downtime and optimizing operational efficiency, which will lead to greater competitiveness and profitability in the long term.

    Planificación estratégica basada en la metodología PETI para el Departamento de Tecnologías de la Información (TI) del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado (GAD) Municipalidad de Ambato

    Currently, public administration, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are essential to modernize institutions and optimize services. This research project designs a Strategic Plan for the IT Department of the GAD Municipalidad de Ambato, aimed at strengthening its digital transformation and improving its municipal management. The plan is based on the PETI methodology (Planificación Estratégica de Tecnologías de la Información), structured in four essential phases: situational analysis, business model, IT model and strategic planning. This systematic approach has made it possible to develop a comprehensive proposal that includes a detailed diagnosis of the department, establishing a business model aligned with the Esquema Gubernamental de Sistemas de Información (EGSI) and defining an action plan with specific indicators and schedules. The implementation of PETI suggests concrete strategies for the automation of processes, the strengthening of technological infrastructure and the optimization of resources. The analysis emphasizes the importance of establishing robust cyber security policies, developing training programs in emerging technologies, and adopting monitoring tools. This strategic model lays the foundations for a sustainable digital transformation in the GAD Municipalidad de Ambato, ensuring the continuity of municipal services, improving operational efficiency, and promoting institutional innovation. The proposal not only seeks to modernize technological management, but also to strengthen the municipality's capacity to respond effectively to citizen demands in the digital age.

    Modelo de gestión por procesos para la empresa Vaz Clothes

    The main focus of this document is the proposal of a process management model for VAZ CLOTHES. The lack of coordination between departments is identified as a critical issue that negatively impacts operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The key objective is to improve this through the implementation of standardized processes that maximize resources and production times. A method was developed to address this issue using a survey methodology with employees and operators from different organizational levels. These studies indicate the urgency of improving interdepartmental coordination, optimizing production times, and improving inventory management. Additionally, the importance of clearly documenting processes to enhance operational efficiency and minimize errors is highlighted. At VAZ Clothes, the lack of adequate training and the absence of a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system have been identified as significant barriers to continuous process improvement. Therefore, a model is suggested that aims to harmonize the efforts of all departments with the company's strategic objectives, fostering an organizational culture that prioritizes continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.
