Guía uso de equipo presión positiva en la espiración (PEP), para eliminación de secreciones en pacientes hospitalizados con patologías respiratorias

Introduction: It has been demonstrated that positive pressure devices help eliminate secretions in patients with respiratory pathologies when there is an increase in mucus production, which can lead to complications in the airways. Inadequate management of secretions can result in obstructive atelectasis and lung injury. Objective: The main objective of this study is to determine the effects of applying the guidelines for the use of positive expiratory pressure (PEP) devices for the removal of secretions in hospitalized patients with respiratory pathologies, as well as to evaluate pulmonary volumes through pre-test and post-test spirometry. Materials and Methods: This is an analytical, observational longitudinal study with a qualitative and quantitative approach, conducted at the Municipal Hospital of Women and Children in Cuenca, from October 2023 to February 2024, adhering to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, during which the efficacy of the PEP device in the elimination of secretions was assessed. Results: PEP reduces dyspnea, facilitates the clearing of pulmonary secretions, and improves pulmonary ventilation. This, in turn, reduces hospitalization times and enhances the pulmonary capacity of individuals with respiratory pathologies, allowing for an improved quality of life. In the analysis of the pre-test and post-test of FEF2575 using the Student’s t-test, there was an observed increase in FEF2575 values in the post-test compared to the pre-test, indicating that the intervention had a significant, positive impact on pulmonary function in the treated patients. Conclusions: The results showed a significant reduction in the average amount of secretions, decreasing from 16.32 ml to 7.63 ml after the intervention, demonstrating the effectiveness of the treatment for the removal of secretions.

Mg.
This research project was focused on developing a guide for motor development through early aquatic stimulation in children aged 2 to 3 years. Which had as main objective, to determine the level of global development and motor development of children from 2 to 3 years of age in the unit Growing with Our Children Mission Tenderness "Izamba Yacupamba", to identify the criteria that allow the elaboration of an aquatic early stimulation guide The same one that maintained a qualitative-quantitative approach. The investigation was carried out in all the boys and girls of the unit Growing with Our Children Mission Tenderness "Izamba Yacupamba", the use of investigative instruments, such as the Denver Test II denominated in English (DDST for its acronym in English Denver Developmental Screening Test), through the application, the difficulty of children in motor development was observed, so the development of the aquatic early stimulation guide for motor development was essential, with which I finally concluded the conclusions and recommendations were developed.

Child development is characterized by being a priority process, with a high degree of brain plasticity, being essential to provide adequate conditions for brain functions to be established, if the process is interrupted by environmental, psychological, social and cultural factors, it shows the appearance possible affectations or delay in their development, deteriorating the quality of life of the child population. It is essential to address this problem correctly, through the timely detection of anomalies in the different areas of development; to establish early intervention strategies, in order to avoid and reduce risks that may alter its evolution. Quantitative study, which will allow the analysis of cognitive development in order to promote it through the use of early stimulation techniques in a population of 25 infants, attended in the Parish of Cunchibamba; chosen by inclusion and exclusion criteria. An evaluation test was obtained for the collection of information and the baseline of cognitive development was established. Research that is framed with a legal and ethical basis for its respective execution, which facilitated access to the homes of the infants for their respective evaluations through the McCarthy Scale, specifically the General Cognitive Scale, concluding with the results of the child population, Based on this, criteria will be established for the creation of the Early Stimulation Guide. The analysis of a second evaluation by the professional in charge is carried out, in which an advance in cognitive development is evidenced since 92% at the end of the intervention are in normal cognitive development and only 8% are on alert - low indicator, the intervention of the use of the Early Stimulation Guide being satisfactory.
