The greenhouse effect is an environmental problem due to the accumulation of gas emissions, causing global warming. Among the main contributors to this problem, it leads the emissions from mobile sources, related to the public transport service in land terminals. The objective of this research project was the quantitative estimation of the value generated by the Guaranda land terminal based on ISO 140064 and GHG Protocol, international standards that guaranteed a real value of the Carbon Footprint. For the development of the measurements of the greenhouse gases, it was carried out with the Bacharach ECA 450 equipment, an analyzer certified by environmental protection agency, for the quantification of gases due to its technology of electrochemical cells and microprocessors that measures the level of emission at the source. The scoping study made it possible to identify scope III as the main GHG generator with 99.99 percent of the total carbon footprint, belonging to the fleet of buses that are dependent on the EURO technology, and a total of 31990.21 tons of CO2e generated by the terrestrial terminal including scope II. In addition, control measures and an improvement plan for air quality were established in order to promote clean development.

Global warming is affected by GHG greenhouse absorb infrared radiation which has been released by the soil and oceans that were heated by solar energy. The transport sector is the main contributor to emissions of GHG from the city of Latacunga. The objective of the present research was to determine the amount of carbon footprint by reaches that emits ground Terminal of the city of Latacunga and the implementation of an environmental management plan that will help to reduce GHG emissions from the standard ISO 14064 and the IPCC guidelines, identifying scope 3 representing the Terminal road haulage to present greater emission of carbon footprint, which reached the 25723,545t CO2 eq of one total of 25725,394t CO2 eq. Establishing that in the transport technology influence on the emissions of greenhouse gases.

The greenhouse gas emissions produced by the Bus station of Salcedo were calculated to determine the carbon footprint, based on ISO 14064 and GHG Protocol, the first baseline of transport activity was established, and an Action Plan was designed. to improve the public Transport of the Parish. The transport baseline consisting of 103 buses was classified by EURO technology, 64 measurements were taken (EURO I6, EURO II 35, EURO III 23) with the ECA-450 using the idling method to obtain: percentage O2, temperature of chimney and environment, CO, NO NO2 and SO2 in mg/m3. The emission factor for CO2 (8.98E + 04 kg/TJ) and N2O (3.46E-02) were determined, which differed from that reported by the IPCC. With respect to GHG emissions (t/year), the EURO II had the highest values with respect to CO2 (36 percent) and N2O (41 percent), while for CH4 the highest value was given by the EURO III (42 percent). The total carbon footprint was 8.86E + 03t CO2-eq, of which range III (8.83E + 03t CO2-eq) generated the largest amount of emissions due to the quality of the fuel and the application of the EURO technology in Ecuador. According to the statistical analysis, it can be mentioned that the EURO technology does not influence oxygen and nitrogen dioxide, but rather carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen monoxide and nitrogen oxides.

A study about the direct and indirect emission of Greenhouse Gas was developed to determine the Carbon Foodprint in the bus stations of Riobamba city. The aim is to reflect one of the biggest problems about environmental pollution that affects the whole world and the society. The indirect emission of energy or Alcance 2 was determined through the electricity consumption in KWh of the buildings that belong to the local and inter-cantonal bus station. The emissions of Alcance 3 were achieved with the equipment: Bacharach ECA 450 in mg/m3 which helped to calculate the factor of emission of CO2 and N2O in kg/TJ. The factor of emission of CH4 was bibliographically achieved. Then, it was calculated the emission of CO2, N2O and CH4 in tons and the carbon foodprint in t CO2 –e. The average value of the emission factor of CO2, wich is the highest, had a value of 57690,128 Kg CO2/TJ being this one lower than the emission factor reported in the IPCC 74100 Kg CO2/TJ. Meanwhile, the Carbon Footprint for the Alcance 1 was 0,000 t CO2 –e due to the lack of a particular car owned by the transport stations, Alcance 2: 0,553 t CO2 –e and Alcance 3: 37388,225 t CO2 –e. The Alcance 3, which belongs to the vehicle fleet of all the bus stations of Riobamba city, has a higher contribution to the Carbon Footprint. That is why it should be taken into account that the factors influencing to the increasing of the emission of Greenhouse Gas are: technology, operation of buses and characteristics of diesel fuel.

This study applied the Carbon Footprint Estimation of the terrestrial terminals of the city of Ambato (UDTA) to reflect the reality of a problem that affects society and the world. The CO2 emission factor obtained was 78131,532 Kg CO2/TJ, this value was compared to the Emission Factor reported in the IPCC which is 74100 Kg CO2/TJ, a difference attributed to the emission factor being Influenced by the technology of the buses, operation, and different characteristics of the fuel, reason why this value obtained not only differs from the reference value but is higher. The Carbon Footprint was 71,69 t CO2-e, 133,44 t CO2-e and 92159,74 t CO2-e, for the ranges 1, 2 and 3 respectively; As initially estimated the largest contribution to the Organization's Carbon Footprint is given by the vehicle fleet that was considered in reach 3. To contribute to the mitigation of emissions to the atmosphere it was essential to carry out an Environmental Management Plan with different programs whose purpose is to mitigate the Carbon Footprint obtained.
