Item Programa de ejercicios fisioterapéuticos de tren superior e inferior en adultos mayores para manejar el riesgo de caídas en un centro gerontológico(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-07-06) Lara Álvarez, Alex Fernando; Cedeño Zambrano, María NarcizaFalls in the Elderly, comprise one of the public health problems and the deterioration of balance corresponds to one of the most important causes of the risk of falls and exercise is one of the most common intervention systems for the reduction of falls, taking Keep in mind that therapeutic balance exercise is one of the preventive efforts for balance and posture, focused on reducing the risk of falls in this age group; with the objective of implementing a program of upper and lower body physiotherapeutic exercises in Older Adults to improve the risk of falls. Falls in Older Adults (AM) create a health problem and represent a great economic consequence in society. It is estimated that around 70% of falls in MA have clinical consequences and 50% suffer from functional deterioration that is not impossible to recover, with loss of autonomy and level of functional dependence, where their quality of life and later mortality; The study had a non-experimental descriptive methodology, a quantitative cross-sectional approach. For the investigation, the Tinetti Test was applied, which measures the level of falls in the Elderly, it was tabulated in Excel, for data processing and statistical analysis the Mann - Whitney U test and the SPSS2 2020 computer system for Windows were used. in Spanish. The process was applied at the end of the investigation. The risk of falls in MA improved after the application of physiotherapeutic exercises, from a 70% high risk of falls in the initial assessment, it decreased to 15% in the final assessment. The low-intensity Vivifrail upper and lower body exercise program has a positive impact on balance and gait in AM, improving quality of life and reducing the risk of falls.Item Programa de ejercicios basado en el Método Perfetti para el deterioro cognitivo leve en adultos mayores(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-07-06) Quispe Arias, Jenny Germania; Celi Lalama, Daniela NatalyThe purpose of this research work was the application of an exercise protocol based on the Perfetti method in older adults with mild cognitive impairment, of the My Golden Years care unit, Salcedo Canton, Mulliquindil Parish. This is an observational development project, with a longitudinal study, with a prospective quantitative approach.: The assessment instruments used were: the Mini Mental State Examination test (Mini Mental) that evaluates the cognitive state of older adults and the Barthel Index (IB) to evaluate the ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL). The census population sample is 20 older adults, 11 men and 9 women, between 65 and 85 years old, with a low level of schooling. The results obtained with the application of the IB are an average of 85 to 90 points out of 100, which represents a slight dependence to execute the activities of daily living. The initial assessment of the Mini Mental test gave an average result of 23 that as a result gives us a Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). An exercise program based on the Perfetti method was applied to stimulate cognition and observe the impact that gender in the improvement of the development of the ADLs, was carried out in 10 weeks of extension two therapeutic sessions per week, with a duration between 40 minutes approximately. At the end a new final evaluation is carried out, applying again the Mini Mental test, an average result of 27 points is achieved, which marks a normal degree in relation to cognitive impairment. In addition, the IB is applied, which marks an average of 95 to 100 points which translates into an independence of older adults in ADLs, which allows us to say that through learning tasks that include motor behaviors, and memory can maintain healthy aging.Item Programa de ejercicios de perturbación dirigido al entrenamiento del equilibrio en adultos mayores de la zona rural(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-06-28) Sánchez Villacís, Erika Yazmín; Cedeño Zamora, María NarcizaFalls represent one of the main causes of activity limitation, participation restriction and deaths due to involuntary trauma in the elderly, becoming a serious socio-sanitary problem, which requires the development of preventive and curative interventions for associated syndromes. to this phenomenon. In this way, it was proposed to establish the effect of a program of disturbance exercises aimed at balance training in older adults, through a descriptive study, longitudinal cohort and quantitative approach, on 30 older adults who actively participate in the Home Care Unit. “A New Life: Balance, gait and risk of falls were assessed with the Tinetti scale and the TUG test. Before and after applying the disturbance program reviewed and validated by expert judgment. The results reflect a clinical improvement in balance and gait of between 1 to 6 points, as well as a decrease in the risk of falls both in the Tinetti scale and in the TUG test, which were evidenced with significant differences between measures in balance, gait and risk of falls in both the Tinetti test and the TUG test. Thus, it can be concluded that a program of disturbances improves the balance and gait of the elderly, reducing the risk of falls.Item Ejercicios de Otago adaptado al equilibrio para manejar el riesgo de caídas del adulto mayor(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-06-28) Pacheco Guzmán, Milton Alejandro; Reales Chacón, Lisbeth JosefinaThe actual research was carried out with the aim to handle the falling risk in the elderly without disability between 65 and 85 years old who live in rural areas and belong to the care unit “Dejando huellas con oro en su corazón” of the Ministry of the Economic and Social Inclusion. A pre and post evaluation was carried out with the Timed up and go (TUG) and Single leg stance tests. The Otago Exercise Program (OEP) adapted to balance developed warm-up and flexibility exercises, an initial walking program, muscle activation exercises, strength and balance. Two sessions per week were applied, lasting approximately 45 minutes each, over a period of 12 weeks. The T-STUDENT statistical test was applied using the IBM SPSS STATISTICS 20 system, in which a p<0,001 value was obtained in both evaluations, evidencing a significant decrease in the risk of falls after the intervention. The final TUG showed that the number of participants with a high risk of falling was 0 (zero), which decreased this condition by 20%, in the slight risk there was an improvement of 12%, while 32% of older adults who no longer present a risk of falling increased. The final SLST revealed that the 64% of the total study population was no longer at risk of falls.
