Carrera de Software, 2025-02) Alvear Vaca Kevin Andres; Jara Moya Santiago DavidCurrently, virtual reality has become a key tool in education, enabling students to interact with complex concepts in a practical and immersive way. This thesis aims to enhance the learning process for students in the Industrial Engineering program at the Technical University of Ambato, specifically those enrolled in the subject of Electrical Machines. The development of the virtual environment utilized advanced technological tools, employing the SUM methodology, which is specifically designed for video game projects. Unity was used as the main development engine, complemented by Blender for 3D design, to create an interactive and realistic environment. The integration of Meta Quest 2 virtual reality glasses with OpenXR ensured cross-platform compatibility and facilitated the development process. The validation of the virtual environment was conducted through an experiment involving a control group and an experimental group. The results showed that the use of the virtual environment significantly improved the students’ learning experience, demonstrating its effectiveness as a complementary tool to traditional teaching methods in the subject of Electrical Machines.
