(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Fisioterapía, 2022-03-01) Ormaza Cepeda, Diego Alejandro; Moscoso Córdova Lic. Mg., Grace Verónica
The present research project had the unknown of determining the effects of a plan of active breaks through virtual modality in schoolchildren of the Ricardo Descalzi Educational Unit. A first socialization of the project was carried out with the representatives of the schoolchildren and with a total of 16 participants between the ages of 5 to 8 years, of which 6 were male and 10 females. With the application of the two tests (C-MAFYCS and PAQ-C), which with good validity allow us to know the physical state and sedentary habits that the participant presents in the course of a week. This plan of active breaks was applied for a month, consisting of 5 sessions per week, each one varying from 5 to 12 minutes of application, where stretching, moderate and vigorous physical activities, coordinated bilateral activities, fine motor activities and thick. The research presents a qualitative-quantitative descriptive approach, due to the methodology used in data collection and its analysis, with a longitudinal prospective design, due to the application of second evaluations in order to determine the effects of the active break plan in schoolchildren Basic Elementary. xiii The effects found in this study regarding the active break plan are related to physical performance; the schoolchildren showed an increase of 18.75% in their level of physical activity, predominantly in female participants with an average of between 5 to 8 years old; Another effect is the improvement in sedentary behavior, with a reduction in their sedentary behaviors, obtaining 43.75% of the population with moderate sedentary habits, and with a 25% improvement in their body mass index, reducing harmful weights. A positive effect of the active break plan applied on schoolchildren with low physical performance was verified, where an increase in their level of physical activity was obtained, generating a balance in the body mass indexes and moderating the sedentary behaviors that the participants presented

Msc.
The objective of this research was to determine the effect of active breaks with resistance through the intervention of stretching and exercises given to the administrative participants of the Faculty of Health Sciences through the Zoom platform. A survey about the desire to participate in the research was conducted to 27 participants, of which 15 agreed to be part of it and were divided into three groups: experimental group 1, experimental group 2 and control group. Participants were given an initial and final evaluation of the EVA scale and the DASH, NDI and ODI questionnaires. The study is descriptive because the data was collected in the workplace through an online survey; quantitative since it seeks to verify the effectiveness of active breaks through statistical data; longitudinal because data were collected at the beginning and at the end of the intervention.

Ft Mg.
Musculoskeletal disorders are associated with repetitive work, which lead to a series of health problems ranging from minor pain to permanent patient’s disability problems. In consideration to the high prevalence of this type of problem, the present study evaluated the effectiveness of a program for the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries in students of the fourth semester of nursing career from the State University of Bolivar receiving classes in their houses. For this, a quasi-experimental investigation was carried out including 34 students who receive classes at home to whom a survey to collect information on sociodemographic variables and the conditions of the place where they receive classes was applied. Also, presence of musculoskeletal symptoms was determined by applying the Nordic questionnaire. After that, an intervention program consisting of capacitation about ergonomics, stretching and active pause for four consecutive weeks was applied. The 90.9% of the students reported some type of musculoskeletal pain, being more frequent in the neck (94.1%), in the lumbar region (79.45%) and the shoulder (70.6%), of the which most of the interviewees described intermediate pain levels in neck (41.2%), shoulder (29.4%) and dorsal or lumbar (29.4%), while the majority did not declare discomfort in elbow and forearm and wrist and hand. After the intervention, a tendency to decrease pain levels was observed in the different parts of the body evaluated. Based on the results, the positive effect of the intervention plan on the improvement of the musculoskeletal pain of the intervened patients is demonstrated, so it is suggested to apply this type of programs in other careers.

“Intervención en las alteraciones músculo-esqueléticas mediante la aplicación de pausas activas en el personal que labora en el sis ecu - 911 en la provincia de Tungurahua”
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Terapia Física, 2020-02-01) Quijije Caina, Cynthia Lizbeth; Ortiz Villalba, Paola GabrielaLcda. Mg.
The musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are frequently associated with the ergonomic factor risks which characteristic include the labor stress, awkward posture or neutral position deviation of body while doing work activities. These disorders appear frequently in the neck, shoulders and low back. So, the present research aims to decrease impact of musculoskeletal disorders through the application of active breaks in staff working in the SIS ECU – 911, who keep prolonged sitting position during all the work day. In addition to this, sedentarism predisposes them to development these. This research has a quantitative, experimental and descriptive approach. t is started with the evaluation of ERGOPAR V2.0 method, ergonomic evaluation ISO 11228-3 part 3: handling of low loads at high frequency, visual analogue scale (VAS), cervical spine goniometry. Also, Adams, Fingertips-to-floor distance (FTF), Spurling and Romberg test. The active breaks program intervention was applied to 76 participants, 4 interventions per week for 9 weeks. The correct exercises execution individually in the workplace was taught and controlled. Active breaks started with breathing exercises, joint mobility and held stretching of cervical, dorsal, lumbar, upper and lower limbs muscles. After the active breaks program intervention and the final evaluation with the applied test, the reduction of the impact of musculoskeletal disorders of staff working is determined.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2019-09-01) García Fonseca, Diana Victoria; Cobo Sevilla, Verónica de los ÁngelesLcda. Msc.
The present investigation had the question of knowing the musculoskeletal disorders presented by the administrative staff and workers of the Technical University of Ambato; performing an anamnesis, physical evaluation, manual tests and evaluations according to the need which consists of filling out some questionnaires (Oswestry, DASH, NDI, SF36), widely used internationally with great reliability and validity to reach an accurate diagnosis. The focus of the study was qualitative-quantitative cross-sectional since data was collected through surveys and scales, as well as the evaluation of 40 patients in a given time, which was why the most prevalent disorders in the staff were found of the institution are lumbalgia, back contractures and cervicalgia, since most workers are subject to repetitive movements, por posture, remain in one position and do not perform activities of active breaks during working hours, this is sum the activities of daily life that perform which are of great importance.
