Item Optimización del sistema de gestión de almacenes en la empresa textil Texcodi(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2025-02) Medina Riofrio Jonathan Daniel; Ortiz Sailema Christian IsmaelThe project addresses the optimization of the warehouse management system at TEXCODI, a textile company facing logistical inefficiencies due to problems such as lack of inventory control, inadequate distribution of areas, lack of logistical indicators, and the existence of obsolete inventory. These issues lead to delays in deliveries, accumulation of obsolete inventories, and economic losses. Using the IPISI methodology (Infrastructure, Processes, Inventories, Safety, and Indicators) and the 5W1H analysis, a comprehensive diagnosis of current operations was conducted. Critical areas were identified, such as the cutting, sewing, and packaging zones, where staff movement times generate operational inefficiency. Moreover, the lack of an automated system limits inventory visibility and traceability. The central proposal includes the reorganization of the warehouse to optimize accessibility and workflow, as well as the implementation of automated software that allows real-time monitoring of inventory status and demand forecasting. The results of the proposals reflect a possible 20% reduction in operation times, an improvement in inventory accuracy, and a 15% decrease in logistics costs.Item Sistema de gestión para el control y manejo de inventario en la empresa ferretera Frevi de la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2025-02) López Yamberla Kevin Josué; Rosero Mantilla César AníbalInventory management is a key factor for the success of hardware businesses, especially those operating with a wide variety of products. This study proposes the implementation of an inventory management model based on the perpetual inventory system, aiming to optimize stock control, reduce operational costs, and improve efficiency in internal processes. To diagnose the initial situation, an IPISI analysis was conducted, identifying critical areas related to storage and organization. Additionally, tools such as the 5S methodology were applied to improve warehouse organization, and standardized alphanumeric coding patterns were developed to facilitate product identification using barcodes. The expected results include more accurate inventory control, reduced product search times, and improved strategic decision-making. This approach aims to provide a practical and replicable framework that allows small and medium-sized hardware businesses to enhance their competitiveness in the marketItem Gestión de inventarios en la empresa distribuidora de confitería y productos de consumo masivo “Dulceza”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-02) Pérez Cando, Alex Paul; Ortiz Sailema, Christian IsmaelThe following document outlines the development of an inventory management model for the company "Dulceza," where the current situation of the logistics area was identified through the use of interviews based on a specialized methodology called IPISI. Various parameters of the company were evaluated, identifying several areas for improvement, including limited storage capacity, lack of action in inventory management, and the absence of established policies and standards to aid in replenishment decision-making. Lastly, the absence of documented manuals detailing the activities and controls necessary for management was noted. All of this was taken into account to develop a model tailored to their needs. The company's inventory was classified using an analytical hierarchical model, considering the criteria of individuals involved in inventory management, allowing for the establishment of robust hierarchies agreed upon by all parties involved. This facilitated adequate stratification to focus measures on products deemed most relevant or in category A. The demand behavior of these items was analyzed to establish a management model based on fixed review periods. Despite a 43.44% increase in demand during the studied period, inventory acquisition costs increased by only 1.02%. This minimal increase is due to higher-cost items experiencing decreased demand, while lower-cost items see increased demand according to forecasts.Item Control de inventarios para reducir el sobre stocks en la empresa “Seguvid Cía. Ltda.”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-02) Arias Solís, Alex Hernán; Tigre Ortega, Franklin GeovannyThis research work comprehensively addresses the stock problems that arise in the company "SEGUVID Cía. Ltda.” located in the city of Ambato, province of Tungurahua, where its business focus is the manufacture and distribution of structural, tempered, automotive, curved and flat glass. This study focuses on identifying, analyzing and proposing effective solutions to inventory-related challenges. Throughout the research, various aspects that contribute to inventory problems are examined, including lack of demand forecasting, inventory management errors, and supply chain deficiencies. The research aims to provide the company with practical tools and knowledge that will enable it to more effectively manage its inventories and minimize the risks associated with stock-outs, thereby improving its competitiveness and its ability to meet market demands. Through the application of the brainstorming technique, 11 possible causes that make it difficult to maintain optimal inventory levels were identified. Through the application of the 6M on quality and the fish diagram, the causes found were classified, and by means of the Pareto diagram the highest level causes were determined; finally, a problem tree diagram was used to determine the miscalculation of orders, lack of control methods and excessive purchases. With the application of the EOQ methodology, a study was carried out to determine the costs of ordering and maintaining inventory, which are equivalent to $ 8167.87 and $ 205.61 respectively; in addition to determining the number of orders to be placed in a year. Finally, to control the overstock, the EOQ methodology was applied to optimize the warehouse inventory. In addition, the use of the power of 2 policy allowed a better grouping of the orders to be placed and, through the 5S and EOQ implementation manual, a solution was found to several problems encountered in the IPISI methodologItem Gestión de inventarios para la optimización de costos en la bodega de la empresa Davmotor(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial, 2023-09) Perez Cordovilla, Diego Gabriel; Ortiz Sailema, Christian IsmaelThe problem arises from the need to have an inventory management system for stock control of the warehouse according to the requirements of the company, because the warehouse does not have an adequate inventory management which generates problems in its processes of supply and distribution of materials. The study was carried out under a descriptive research, which is designed in three phases. I Diagnose the current state of the warehouse, in which an analysis was made by applying the IPISI methodology.II Conduct a cost study to determine the payments that the company must make to maintain the processes of resupply and distribution of materials in the warehouse.III Formulation of a proposal to improve inventory management. The results obtained in the following work were as follows: with the application of the power of two policies methodology, a decrease in the number of orders to be placed was achieved with the current model of ordering 978 orders and with the proposal only 624 orders should be placed, generating a savings of $1458.53 in addition to a savings in the cost of maintenance of 18.71%, which is equivalent to a decrease of $451.71. With the application of this methodology, a savings of $1910.24 can be generated in a period of one yearItem Metodología 5´s para la optimización en la gestión de bodega en la empresa textil “ROPA INFANTIL ECUATORIANA (RIE)”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2023-03) Guamán Lloacana, Henry Antonio; Naranjo Chiriboga, Israel ErnestoSmall and medium-sized companies currently face constant change due to external and internal factors that hinder the full development of their activities. “Ropa Infantil Ecuatoriana (RIE)” is in this group, which does not have an adequate productive management, in such a way that methodologies focused on the improvement of its facilities and processes are not applied, as well as changes in the organizational culture and personnel commitment, focused on the care and maintenance of work areas, equipment and materials. This research project begins with a study of the current situation of the company through an IPISI analysis that includes five phases, the first an analysis of infrastructure and areas, second a review of processes, the third phase the analysis of inventories, the fourth point involves labor and occupational safety and finally the logistics indicators. Subsequently, the 5'S checklist is applied to verify the level of compliance of the company, showing a level below satisfactory (15/50), then the project is supported with a scientific basis of cases of application of the 5'S in textile sectors using the PRISMA methodology to identify key factors for the success of the implementation of the 5'S, therefore the application plan of the methodology is developed using a manual for the implementation of this tool in the warehouse under study, where the 5 points are detailed, which are: Seiri (classification), Seiton (order), Seiso (cleaning) and finally the stages of Seiketsu (standardization) and Shitsuke (discipline). As a final part, a before and after comparison was made, presenting the benefits achieved with the implementation of the 5'S methodology, in addition to reapplying the checklist, finding an improvement in its level of compliance, in quantitative terms it is 46/50, which means a 62% improvement over the initial situation. The improvement process includes staff training and the development of a database for inventory control.
