(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2025-02-21) Cunalata Llugcha, Mónica Alexandra; Balseca Basantes, Jeanneth Elizabeth
Currently, adolescents face multiple conflictive situations that can affect or strengthen their level of resilience, the constant changes in family, educational and social dynamics generate a significant impact on the behavior of adolescents, causing them to modify their perception of the future, move away from the search for personal improvement and opt for more complex lifestyles, because resilience manifests itself differently at each stage of life, as a result of physical and psychological changes, adolescents adopt behaviors that exposed to multiple risks. This research aims to analyze resilience in adolescents from the public and private educational sector of the Salcedo Educational Unit and the GRAL Eloy Alfaro Educational Unit. In this sense, the methodology adopted a quantitative approach, of a descriptive, analytical-synthetic and comparative nature, where the JJ46 questionnaire by Alvarán et al (2023) was used to study the variable, composed of 46 items divided into 8 dimensions, which was applied to a sample of 288 adolescents, aged between 12 and 17 years, divided equally between the public and private educational sectors. The results indicated that resilience in adolescents in the public and private educational sector reflects a moderate capacity to face adversity, characterized by a medium level of resilience. This ability is supported by family support, self-esteem, creativity and behavior management, which act as key indicators that allow adolescents to identify negative patterns with greater awareness and control, on the other hand, although no significant differences are observed Between both educational sectors, resilience manifests itself in a diverse way, depending on the context of each population, which indicates that the majority of adolescents belonging to the two educational sectors have skills to overcome obstacles and face challenges.

(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-08) Oñate Miranda, Angela Estela; Torres Carrillo, Silvia Susana
The thesis project aimed to investigate the relationship between Social Pedagogy and Social Work Intervention in adolescents, since education has undergone significant changes to contribute to the demands of new educational contexts. Consequently, it is estimated that the two sciences can work together to address the social and emotional problems of adolescents. In this way, the development of essential competencies in social and civic participation is promoted, as well as fostering values of inclusion and equality. Instruments were constructed to measure each variable in the study, and the data obtained were analysed using Pearson's correlation statistic for parametric data. The results reveal a moderate and positive correlation (r=0.507; p-value=0.000), supporting the hypothesis that an increase in Social Pedagogy could be linked to greater effectiveness in Social Work interventions. The integration of social pedagogy strengthens social interventions, in line with Bermúdez (2008) and Ocampo (2008) who highlight the need for holistic training for social workers. Updated pedagogical methods adapted to individual differences form the basis of participatory knowledge of adolescents (Cedeño and Mantilla, 2022; Reyes, 2020; Goulart, 2022). In addition, Social Pedagogy empowers students to solve socio-educational problems in innovative ways (Fantova, 2018; Marsh and Cooper, 2019). This approach helps adolescents to develop pro-social competences and to fully integrate into the community (Vargas and Alarcón, 2021). In conclusion, the research underlines the positive impact of Social Pedagogy in the training of social workers, promoting a more active and effective participation in the community. It highlights the need to continue investing in values education and social interaction skills to prepare students to face contemporary challenges in the field of Social Work

With this study, the objective was to analyze the opinions of adolescents between 15 and 18 years old on gender stereotypes and the use of contraceptive methods. To this end, a descriptive questionnaire-type research design was carried out in which two surveys were developed and administered, one for each variable to a control list, to a sample of 152 students from the Huambaló educational unit. The SPSS statistical analysis program was used to analyze the data and obtain results and then frequencies and percentages presented in graphs and tables. The results obtained have indicated the normalization of stereotypical visions among students, where the dimensions of physical, emotional and social behavior are the most significant. The opinions of men stand out in such a large proportion that they clearly support and propagate these opinions, but they also ignore the results obtained by women because in many cases they support these beliefs and attitudes. There is a significant correlation (p<0.05) between the level of knowledge of the students, which means that they appear as two factor variables with moderate correlation strength. What's more, those who do most MAC users have reached the excellent level, while non-MAC users have reached the average level. Finally, it is recommended to improve the sexual education program by reaching awareness and development of information in adolescents. In addition, it is necessary to integrate students with parents regarding knowledge of contraceptive methods, so that security and confidence are strengthened and not There are no limits or harms that affect beliefs

(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-02) Samaniego Lema, Maria Belen; Espín Miniguano, Anita Dalila
Parenting is one of the least studied aspects within Ecuadorian families, despite being a variable that impacts several dimensions of development. The goal of this research is to determine the influence of parenting styles on the self-esteem of adolescents in the Proyecto Don Bosco foundation, in the city of Ambato, in the year 2023. The methodology applied was quantitative, descriptive and correlational. 60 adolescents participated in the study: 22 females and 38 male. They were evaluated using two instruments: Parenting Styles and Intraparental Inconsistency Scale (De Iglesia et al., 2010) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965). In the analysis of parenting, it was considered two dimensions: affective response and demandrequirement. For statistical correlation, the Spearman test was applied. The results for parenting show the prevalence of authoritarian style (55%) and negligent style (23.3%). The results for self-esteem show that 58.3% have a low level, 28.3% have a medium level, and 13.3% have a high level. Regarding the correlation between the variables, the association between demand and self-esteem shows a Spearman coefficient of -0.50; while the relation between response and self-esteem has a coefficient of 0.75. This shows that, if parents’ emotional response is high, the levels of children’s self-esteem achieve. On the contrary, if demand and inflexibility increases, the self-esteem in adolescents decreases

Psychosocial development is a multidimensional and continuous process that encompasses psychological and social aspects of an individual's life throughout his or her life cycle. On the other hand, the paternal role refers to the function, responsibilities and behaviors that a father plays in the life of his children. Thus, the relationship between these variables creates a hypothesis that adolescents raised in environments with balanced and affectionate parental practices tend to have higher self-esteem and self-confidence. Thus, the present work aims to analyze the influence of the parental role in the psychosocial development of adolescents, using a qualitative research approach, with a descriptive scope and a narrative type of research that analyzes the particular phenomenon from a holistic perspective. The use of video games is an activity that has been used since the 1940s, and is currently one of the activities that generates the most economic income and is the one most frequently performed by adolescents, due to the easy access to them. As far as family communication is concerned, according to the adolescents' perspective, it is avoidant due to the limitations of dialogue with their parents. The objective of the research was to analyze the influence of the use of video games and family communication. The approach was quantitative, correlational and explanatory, with a deductive, analytical-synthetic and hypothetical-deductive method. We worked with a population of 62 adolescents from the "Ricardo Descalzi" Educational Unit of the first, second and third years of high school between 15 and 19 years of age. The instrument used to collect information on the video game variable was the Spanish version of the Gambling Addiction Scale for Adolescents (GASA) questionnaire, which contains 7 questions; on the other hand, for the family communication variable, the Family Communication questionnaire (C.A.-M/C.A.-P), which consists of 20 questions, was used.
